Detailed Reviews
We have stayed here for many years now and keep coming back. It is a wonderful park in a delightful location with the beautiful wide Wooli River flowing past. It has great roomy camp sites which are really well planned with shade trees providing relief in the hot summer. The staff are friendly and helpful. We usually book an ensuite site and it's always clean, mowed and presentable upon arrival. There are lots of activities for young and old and they have recently added more seating areas close by the pools which are a real bonus. In peak times they hold activities for the kids. There are canoes which are free to use plus bikes and putt putt golf but I believe there is a separate charge for those. We can certainly recommend this park for a wonderful holiday.

We have stayed in LOTS of parks. By far this is our #1. The school holiday activities have kept even our 13yr old busy. The pool area is utterly amazing by day or night. The area is beautiful. The park and the sites are immaculate, private and a great size. Lots of amenities. The cafe on site coupled with the service station and pub have meant we did not need to travel to Grafton. We have been so impressed with the families who have been around us, the staff are very approachable and ensure everything runs tip top.

We stayed for 3bdays at the end of May early June and, although cold at night the days were magnificent.
Staff gave us a choice of sites as it wasn't too busy and we chose an ensuite site with a great view of the river.
We also took advantage of a generous discount on the price of the ensuite.
The site was large and level and we spread out like we owned the place.
Solitary Islands Resort was well appointed, clean and well maintained, close to beaches and river, next to the pub and general store. Staff were happy and inviting, happy to help.
The resort boasts a putt putt course, 3 pools, a water park and water slide and a regular movie screening in the pool area. A great place for kids and dog owners.
Highly recommended, we are certain to return

The mosquitoes were horrendous, much worse than the previous years we have stayed at this resort. I did see a truck spraying treatment for the mosquitoes one late afternoon during the four days we were there, however this really made no difference. We are now left covered in mosquito bites. How about considering handing out mosquito coils upon arrival, or placing citronella lanterns around the grounds. At least as a gesture that something is being done about the problem. On that note, I must send a shout out to the lovely cleaner at the camp kitchen, when we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes she kindly gave us some repellent spray she had in her cleaning cart.
The big water slide was advertised as opening at 1:30pm on Friday when we got there at 2pm it was just being closed up. I can’t understand opening the water slide for just 30mins?
Also, something should be done about drainage on the sites. When it rains the water pools in the centre of the site which caused flooding in our tent and made for a miserable experience. We tried to make the best of a bad situation while it was raining most of the time, of course the rain can't be helped but with the flooding in the tent and being constantly wet because of it, and covered in bites, we could not wait to pack up and leave.
With all that said, the park facilities, camp kitchen, swimming pools, jumping pillow, kayaks etc. are fantastic and we love the location, this is the third year we have driven down from Brisbane. If these issues could be addressed the park has the potential to be an outstanding resort. Unfortunately, we are unsure if we will make the trip again based on these issues. If they do get resolved, please let me know.

Hey Justin! Thank you for your review, we really appreciate the feedback. It has been a challenging few months going from a drought to floods and we realize being tropical New South Wales, the mosquito's are a little annoying at the moment. We are doing all we can to keep them at bay. Just received a huge order of mosquito coils and sprays to help keep their pesky bites away. As a park we do try and spray the ground as much as possible with Natural Pyrethrum. We are very happy to hear you had a lovely time and enjoyed all the facilities and what the park has to offer. Can't wait to see you again soon :)

Camper trailer on an ensuite site was perfect for our family of 4. River frontage, Hotel next door, service station with groceries and hot food all made our trip easy. The waterpark with 110m waterslide and river fishing kept the kids happy. Take repellent as midgies can get a little nasty.

Thanks for your kind review, glad you had a good holiday! We do recommend mossie repellents for those little suckers and we have our spraying machine fixed so are fogging the resort to keep them at bay! Thanks again for the review, we hope to see you again soon!

+1
It's a great location next to the river with lush established gardens in between all the sites and cabins to provide a bit of privacy. Not your average caravan park. Our ensuite cabin was perfect for two with a small deck out front but it's a great park for families too. You can use their canoes for 2 hours for free. Launch straight into the river. The owners have built a new restaurant and bar out the front called "The 383". It is a really interesting design made out of containers and a great addition to Wooli. Food was fair and coffee was good. Opens at 7am from Thursday to Sunday. Good range of craft beers too.

Stayed in an ensuite site. It was massive couldn't believe how big it was. Can't comment on amenities as we used the ensuite every time. Didn't use camp kitchen as used out own bbq. Facilities were great. One of the pools was heated. The big slide isn't always open which is a shame and it was unclear when it would open but that wasn't a huge issue.
The mossies are pretty bad but just sprayed every couple of hours and put mosquito coils around the van and I don't even think I got bitten.
Highly recommend

This river front holiday park has thought of everything for everyone. We are an older couple and had a short stay in a quaint beach hut, which was conveniently located near the a pristinely clean and well equipped camp kitchen, and the amenities block. I loved the completely individual, separated shower rooms - very Covid safe!
The park would be ideal if you have a young family , with organised activities each day , as well as a water park and water slides, mini golf, bike hire, kayaks, etc. The park is also located a short stroll a lovely tavern with great meals and take away pizza available.
Highly recommended and looking forward to staying there again.

Very disappointed. We arrived at the park and our allocated site was covered in branches and green rubbish. We set up but there were many available sites that had new astro turf. I counted 18 spare sites that also had ensuites that were available .

We stayed in a water front 3bedroom cabin and it was amazing !! Can not fault anything! They were so clean and new ! Beds were comfy, lots of space. Best cabins we ever stayed in. The view of the river was awesome too especially at sun down ! So relaxing ! Plenty of grass for kids to play in. Free canoe use was awesome and take your own paddle board because it’s a good river to cruise up !
Staff were very friendly.
Unfortunately due to COVID reasons, they
Couldn’t open the big slide or jumping pillows which was dissapointing. Also there is definitely no heated pool ! Was looking forward to that too but nope, Ice cold. We were there during school holidays and was a little sad that the inflatable slide was only open one hour over the 4 days we were there. Kids got a bit bored in the park. Not much to do in winter but would be awesome in summer when the pools and slide are usable. No playground. They just need a bar to get drinks around the pool.
Will be back when we need to relax again ! Def in summer though.
