Detailed Reviews
The accommodation looked good however the room did not offer value for money.
The room was very basic with barely any furnishing, no toaster, no microwave. The bathroom has been renovated and was clean, however they need urgent attention to the shower as we could not regulate the temperature and the pressure was extremely poor.
The room did have a good view to the ocean.
Meals at the roadhouse were excellent.
Overall compared to other roadhouses that we stayed in on our journey, we felt that the room price was to expensive for what you get.

After a long drive from Norseman this was a nice little oasis to stay for the night. The room we had was recently renovated, clean, comfortable and the bed was awesome. From the outside it looked like a prison block but don't be deceived. Close by was the old telegraph station and the Eucla Jetty. Yes, the rooms and food were subject to higher prices, but the previous reviews/complaints are probably unwarranted noting the location of the place (in the absolute middle of nowhere). The staff were friendly, and the food was reasonable.

Like the competition down the highway, it would be unfair to mark down accommodation given the extreme remoteness of the location. It's not cheap but again, it is remote and competition is scarce.
That said, we were very happy with our room. It was clean and spacious with a big window looking out over the landscape. Nice towels and good shower. A pleasant surprise.
There is no wifi , so be prepared for that if you have no mobile service from your provider. We dont have Telstra which I imagine would be the only one to work out there if at all.
We didnt eat at their restaurant as we were carrying our own food but it looked good from what we saw.
If you do have your own food they have a communal microwave under cover near the rooms. Quirky and somewhat makeshift, but it works.
Staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful.

We booked this hotel a week before we needed a room and on arrival we were greeted by someone who referred to me by name and couldn’t do enough to help with everything.
Room has been renovated and had absolutely everything needed for an overnight stay. The absolute best this was the view. Straight out to the bight.
Ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. A basic menu that could be considered expensive BUT $24.00 for nachos enough to share me between tow is good value in my book. Schnitzels were $30.00 and huge.
Staff friendly and helpful, thank you.
Highly recommend and will definitely stay here if we drive the nullabor again.

Have stayed here before in their dog friendly unit. Fantastic location, lovely staff and good food and service.
So nice to find a clean and comfortable place to stay with your furry friend when traversing the Nullabor would highly recommend

My car broke down, just outside of Eucla, and I managed to limp back to the Eucla Motor Hotel, where I was stuck for a few days waiting for RAC to assess the car and next steps. A very stressful experience was made bearable only because of the kindness and thoughtfulness of staff, who quickly renewed my booking for the next few nights and suggested some things to do to spend the time. Things sometimes go wrong along the road and this location - one of the most remote in the country - it is nice to know there are people who care. Thank you very much.

We decided that Eucla was better to stay than Border Village, and get fuel, (we use 98 or if have to 95) drove the 12 km to Eucla, only sells ulp and diesel, drove back to Border (only got 95) back to Eucla for comfy night. Not impressed with this so called motel. Very expensive $185 with nothing to show for it, except a bed. No Wifi, no toaster, microwave or cutlery only sticks to stir with. trying to get people into the restaurant i guess. No toiletries in bathroom, Floor greasy, temperature of water extremely hot and dangerous. Only positive is a room with bed, reception staff not able to cope when people backed up. I would not recommend it as a place to stay if you can find somewhere else. or your car if big enough.

After our experience last night 26/12/23 at the Eucla Motel
0 stars would be far too generous for this dump!
I booked a Family Deluxe room over the phone about two months ago and was given lots of information from a very helpful lady. I wrote down all the info at the time of booking.
Her advice was the reception closes between 8-8.30pm and last restaurant food orders were taken no later than 7.30pm.
Fuel was a 24 hour self serve.
I received a text message earlier in the day yesterday to confirm our booking for last night which I did.
On our arrival last night right on 7pm (after traveling a straight 16.5 hours from Perth only stopping for fuel) we were affronted at reception desk by a very rude uncaring foreign speaking chap who was in the process of locking EVERYTHING up as we walked through the door. After fumbling for our name on the bookings we were lucky to get the key. I mentioned to him the advice I had been given by the lady whom I presumed to be the owner but he totally dismissed it with the excuse of it being Boxing Day!
We explained to him we hadn’t eaten and the restaurant was meant to still be open with last bookings at 7.30pm but he said the kitchen was closed and despite there being food in the counters he refused to sell us any food.
He said we could drive a further 16km to Bordertown and get food but the whole point of getting to Eucla by 7pm was to eat at the restaurant plus be off the road by dusk to avoid the wildlife.
Pretty fed up with the arrogance of this lazy guy who just continued to keep locking up, we decided to find our inviting Deluxe Family Room 22. What a JOKE. It is the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in..the room was smelly, old and very much in need of TLC. One of the beds was broken and the shower was useless.
Long story short we hightailed it out of there at 5am ..oh but not before getting fuel from the 24 hour self serve…oh but that’s right it didn’t exist 😂 so we headed onto Bordertown and filled up there plus bought sandwiches to take along the way.
The irony of our story is we had stayed at the same motel over 30 years ago on our first road trip with our young family to the East and were very happy with the motel. Obviously no love has gone into that place and now it’s just a money pit with there being little choice apart from Bordertown.

It is understandable that we are in the middle of nowhere. The young Asian lady behind the counter was working so hard, she served us on check in, and then saw her later at dinner working the restaurant, and then up early the next morning to leave she was on housekeeping. Please I hope she gets a break and it's worthwhile for her.
While reception did not know much to talk about around the area (we had questions on how to get to the jetty) she wasn't entirely sure what to say so a little training would be good from management.
While eating in the restaurant, and spending over $75 and then having to pay an extra $2 for sauce, what on earth, just give those customers who dine in your restaurant the correct compliments to the meal, I found this in poor taste. The food was basic but it was nice to sit down and have a meal after a long drive.

The good news is that the room is clean with big windows and the bathroom has been refurbished so is modern,
The bad news is that there's no wifi, no hand towels, no toiletries. The TV in the room is really old and you can't stream.
The restaurant is also limited, but at least they don't sting you with ridiculous prices for the food or drinks.
The reason I rated it as below average is that most hotels provide basics like wifi etc otherwise the place is fine for an overnight stay in the middle of no where.

I don't know Iwould imagine you could rock up and get a site easily. I stayed in budget accomodation not flash but clean and that only cost me $40 I think it was $1 for showers, suggest you ring them
H Kristie, from memory rooms were about $140. I know there is at least one large room which can sleep at least 5. There is also some cabin type accommodation over near the camping ground, no ensuite, but they had air con and were clean and tidy. Best bet is to ring them and book in advance for that number of people.
"Not a bad place to put your head down on Eyre highway. If only they had a better accessible bathroom they would get more marks."Read full review
