My wife and I were reliving our youth, now in out late 50's, traveling through Europe with no itinerary or plans. We found the Gasthof Hanselewirt and made last minute reservations for 2 nights. We are so very lucky that they had a room for us on such short notice. We stayed in Room 10 with an attached bathroom /...

Thank you so much Kukui_Alo for taking the time to write such a lovely summary of your spontaneous trip through Europe with your wife. We are also delighted you found us, and that you enjoyed the authenticity that the village of Schwangau still offers, including cattle meandering down the town to their fields in the morning and returning in the...

Stayed there two nights and it was a pleasant stay. On the main road you can get access to Neuschwanstein by bus about 15mins because the bus goes around in big loop. I wish I came back in the midday for the restaurant, but the breakfast I has was great. Couldn't agree more.

Thank you for your lovely summary of your stay with us rtsang087. Unfortunately, you seemed to have taken the bus which goes up to the Tegelberg mountain before going to the castles. There is another bus that takes you there directly from the main street, just a one minute walk from our hotel, ant the bus is free for guests...

I arrived at this quaint alpine hotel on a Tuesday for a two night stay whilst travelling across Europe. Tuesday was fine, nice food, quiet room, good WiFi etc., but nobody told me the hotel would be closed the following day - and in fact every Wednesday. So imagine my surprise after breakfast on Wednesday, when I went for a...

Thank you for your review. Our hotel is a family-run hotel and like most hotels in this area, we have a "Ruhetag" or day where we are closed. Our "Ruhetag" is Wednesday throughout the year. This is stated in the information folder in your room and is also stated on our website and in all the online-booking portals we use....

My wife and I stayed here May 9, 2014 for one night because we were visiting the Castles the next morning. We had the upper floor, the room was a little cramped, the ceilings a little low and the floor a little creaky, but it felt like you were staying at your grandma's house. Great charm and atmosphere. From our...

Thank you very much for the positive feedback. The sall rooms in the second floor are smaller and the ceilings lower. For taller guests we recommend booking the standard double rooms in the first floor for extra space. As you pinted out we are very near to the Neuschwanstein castle, I would even say a 3 minute drive to the...

Remodeled, excellent staff services and clean. Nice size room with a balcony. We wanted to visit a small town - Titisee Lake southern Black Forest in Baden Wurttenberg, and found this hotel approx. 10km from it. Excellent dinner at the hotel -- Must definitely try their specialty "trout with melted almond butter" farmed in the same town. A small car...

Although we only stayed one night, from the moment of arrival to leaving everyone was friendly and welcoming. We booked a Castle view room, and what a view !!! The room itself was clean, cosy and comfortable. It was also nice to have tea/coffee facilities (as not all German Hotels/Guest houses have this facility). The shower was also amazing (powerful)...

Thank you so much for your positive comments. We really appreciate you taking the time to do this! As ouy experienced we are the perfect location for a visit to Neuschwanstein castle, the Bavarian alps and even Austria if you can spare a day to see Reutte and its surrounding area. The place is very good: quite, nice. The breakfast is good. The room was clean. One problem for me it was cold in the room but owners offered only more blankets. They couldn't make higher temperature in the room.

Great all rounder - tasty, authentic German cuisine, great view of mountains from our room, close to Ludwig's castles, cable car and walking trails. Nice breakfast but don't accidentally walk into the dinner restaurant at breakfast time or you may have your arm bitten off by the breakfast girl's humungous dog.
