What I can tell you is that after my experience, I'll avoid coming back and if ever someone books me there again, I'll respectfully decline and make my own arrangements.
The good : it's OK. But just ok. Damn near average. The staff is courteous and accommodating. Food was good (had room service) and the hotel bar is adequate. Breakfast buffet is more than sufficient. Could do with an extra selection of eggs other than the compact block of scrambled.
The bad : rooms are way too spartan. Decor is outdated. Bathrooms are clean but far from modern. Temperature in the rooms is waaay hotter than in the rest of the hotel. So much so that I had a very hard time sleeping the first night. The second night, not only was it hot, I discovered that the sound proofing of the windows facing outside back is poor. Someone decided to park on the street and engage in a nice lengthy chat. I couldn't get any shut eye. Gave up at 4 am.
All in all, not a great stay. Wouldn't recommend it. Maybe I am being a bit harsh, but this is my experience.
This hotel is clearly not one of those!
Though built in 70-80th it is recently renovated and very nice.
Beds are very comfortable and well maintained, furnished rooms. Good WiFi - for quick business matters.
What could have been better is more attention to bathroom cleaning... I don’t think anybody is fond of finding somebody’s else hair in the bathroom.
But, honestly this is a detail compared to the comfort, breakfast quality and proximity to the train station.
But don't be deceived, this hotel is good. The rooms are not huge but comfortable, the little restaurant provides decent meals at a very fair price and the staff are friendly and efficient. The WLAN connection is not only free, it works at a good speed and you don't have to stand next to the reception desk to connect.
The winner is the breakfast. The breakfast room is elegant and spacious; there is a good choice of cereals, fruit and bread, with eggs, bacon and sausage if you wish. A pot of coffee is brought to you, no need to queue up at a machine here. At 14.50 EUR it is not exactly cheap but worth the price.
So don't be put off by first impressions. I, for one, hope that I shall be coming here again.
The first room I got had a crackling noise every 3 minutes, alternating between the top of the bed and the bottom. Looked like wood crackling...
After calling reception they got me another room. When I got to the room it was freezing cold. The employee sad in 30' the heating would be fine. Nest morning , nothing. I complained ta the reception... when I came in in the evening freezing cold again and the only alternative was a small heater that they offer at the reception, which seems to already be "prepared" for those emergencies .. not to repeat.

Staff however is helpful...But be sure to remind them of any facilty that you may require..I was charged for breakfast but when I requested packed breakfast since I had to leave early morning, the same was not available
One good thing is the friday atmosphere just behind the hotel..
We decided on the Christmas market Package which is good value for money (the Porsche is not included in this one!) Free parking during our stay was a welcome bonus. The Hotel itself is cosy and the rooms large and spacious. The food in the Bistro was always good with an interesting selection of Regional dishes complimented by a thorough Wine List. The bathroom complete with deep bath, was modern with a unique basin and shower. Everything worked.
The staff were outstanding from check in, to housekeeping, to reception, to the restaurant as well as the management. Mr Joachim Grohnwald, the General Manager/Director takes pride in training his staff to above average levels of service and it shows.
The proximity to the subway station is good and the train service equally so. All in all our stay was a happy 4 days and we will definitely return.
Good swimming pool - not huge but just big enough to be able to get a little exercise. Pool and sauna nice and quiet when I was there.
