My wife and I enjoyed our overnight stay at this lovely Country House Hotel, whilst attending a Charity Ball in the beautifully appointed Winter Garden room. The food at that function was good and the serving staff amazing. The hotel, set in a great rural location is a wonderful old property steeped in history. As you would expect, it is... More

We spent a night at this hotel to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. The hotel is lovely and decorated in a traditional style. Rooms are a bit gothic for my taste with heavy wooden furniture/beds, wall tapestries & brocade throws. The hospitality tray was a bit unispiring - coffee, standard tea bags and uninspiring biscuit packets. Bathroom was a little... More

Stayed for 2 nights early in October and we were so pleased with our choice as it was a last minute decision to get away for our anniversary now that we're both retired. Booked into Beamish Hall for 4 nights on business. Great rate offered for what you get. Rooms are old fashioned but not in a negative way they fit in well with the style of hotel. Rooms were immaculate and bed extremely comfy. Grounds are stunning and staff so friendly. Breakfast on offer had such a good selection and presentation was... More

We stayed here recently and we were very impressed with our room which we upgraded for a small fee. The furniture was either mahogany or walnut, beautiful and so in character with the hall, it was warm and cosy and the bed was soo comfortable. The breakfast was amazingly good with lots of nice extra details and the staff couldn't... More

I was treated to afternoon tea at Beamish Hall and it was lovely. The sandwiches are well presented and tasty but you only get one choice. However, the selection of cakes was lovely. High tea at a very high price. £4.50 for small pot of tea, 2 scones (size of dough ball), very small pot of jam and equally small pot of cream, add to that the lack of atmosphere means this was definitely not worth the money
