The online booking facility does not have 'Choose Site Number' facility but it does let you request beach front site or non beach front site. Check in process is fast and we were offered assistance with positioning the van to its spot! Due to that, my husband reverse the van perfectly and effortlessly. We could not thank manager Kay enough for doing that.

The location is fantastic, the facility is always clean and tidy, the beach is clean & serene, and the managers are .... simply the best!

The street can be busy or noisy at time but it is part of the 17km esplanade with fantastic shady BBQ parks, piers, restaurants, shops, waterpark, and playgrounds. Directly across the road from the gate is a milk bar, pizzeria, 50s diners, bakery, and some other shops and restaurants. Next door is a beach front cafe called Enzo that open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The street market is on Wednesday and Saturday. Coles & shopping precinct is a few mins drive away.

There is no playground for children, but there are fantastic playgrounds and a wonderful large waterpark nearby. There is no swimming pool but there is one of the best swimming beaches at your door step.

We bought heaps of mosquito coils but thanks to the orange street lights installed in the caravan park, we did not notice excessive insects or definitely no mosquito. We did not use the mosquito coil and other insect repellent at all.

The showers are spacious. Each shower room has a separate shower cubicle, a large bench seat, multiple hooks, basin with mirror, and toilet.

We booked 3 nights but ended up staying for 4 night. We also made another booking for the end of the month. That is how much we enjoyed our stay.

A great waterfont camping location impecably maintained by dedicated managers Phil and Kay.
Recent facilities upgrades offer modern clean functional bathrooms, toilets and camp kitchen.
Wonderful restaurants, cafes and shops on your doorstep for convenience and enjoyment.
We booked a return visit for next year before checking out.
Scarness Beachfront Holiday Park is highly recommended for travelers looking for A- grade facilities and service.

What an amazing spot! Right on the beach, close to shops/restaurants. The park Managers Kay and Phil certainly keep the place in pristine condition and are always available to assist with any questions or concerns. Kay & Phil treat you like family and I love the fact that they personally went around the park and spoke to everyone individually to ensure they were having a great time. Even got a personal 'heads up' for an approaching storm that gave as time to bunker down. It's going this extra mile that makes people feel special and wanting to return. They keep the park in check and ensure all visitors are happy and that any unwanted behaviour is addressed in a very professional manner. This is definitely appreciated by the people in the park doing the right thing. One of the most relaxing and enjoyable breaks I've had in a while. Thanks Kay & Phil. I highly recommend this park and these great people.

We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing stay at the newly renovated Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park. This beautifully appointed park with it's modern unisex bathroom facilities is exceptionally well run by it's managers who go out of their way to ensure that everyone is happy & safe. There are few places like this where you can enjoy watching both magnificent sunrises & sunsets from the one spot. Plus you have walking paths/bike tracks out the front and a variety of cafes & restaurants within walking distance. We look forward to returning

Phil and Kay at Scarness Caravan Park are simply wonderful people who go above and beyond to make your stay special. The park is now absolutely stunning, and with its prime beachfront location, the views are nothing short of breathtaking! Waking up to the sound of the waves and the picturesque scenery is an experience like no other. A massive thanks to Phil and Kay for their hard work in creating such a beautiful and welcoming space! 🌴🌊

A relaxing beachfront caravan park. The managers are very friendly and helpful. No riding of bikes, scooters or skateboards is permitted within the park which makes it very pleasant for the older generation. Must be completely self-contained to stay here.

What a wonderful beachfront caravan park. Currently to be updated but presently sites are 1/2 price due to having to be fully self contained as no power is available or only minimum sites with sullage. There is still water available and an old but clean amenities block. Such a great locaton close to shops, cafes etc with wonderful bike/walking tracks along the whole of the foreshore (approx 17kms). Almost a shame to update and modernize as prices will go up and be less attractive to fully functional self contained solar powered rvs. Come will you can take advantage of beach frontage while meeting the friendly efficient managers who are happy to wrangle sites to suit your stay.

We stayed in the Scarness caravan park for 8 weeks from early December until the end of January. During this time we found Phil and Kay to be very friendly, very obliging and extremely hard working. The amenities and grounds were in pristine condition, Phil and Kay came around every day to enquire if there was anything we needed and if everything was okay, these daily chats with them were an extra that these two went out of their way to do to make all of us feel welcome and to ensure that our stay was very enjoyable. Their friendly nature and personality is as asset to the Council, unlike the two relieving managers that came in when Phil and Kay had some most deserved days off. Richard and Shirley were rude, abrupt and not very friendly and not as hard working ad Phil and Kay. Phil and Kay were alway visibly around the park, mowing, whipper snipping and general tidying up, Richard and Shirley were very conspicuous by their absence hardly ever saw them around the park, just sitting in the air conditioned office or under the awning of their caravan. The only time they came and saw us was to have a go at us for apparently washing our car and all we were doing was washing bat droppings off the paint work then they didn’t even introduce themselves to us just rudely told us that washing vehicles wasn’t allowed in the park.
Many thanks to Phil and Kay for their friendliness and dedication to ensuring that we campers can have an enjoyable stay at Scarness.
We have been regular Campers at Scarness for 50 years and the only disappointment we had was that we were not allowed to make a booking for the same time in the next year, we have been booking in advance previously every time we have stayed except for this year.

Location of this park is excellent. Was very easy to carry our kayaks or paddle board down to the water or go for a lovely stroll along the beach.
The park is very well maintained and is kept in excellent condition. Camp kitchen & amenities were excellent with a well appointed laundry (dryers were amazing!).
The caravan sites are spacious & well laid out, most are a concrete slab site, with a few grass only sites.
I would highly recommend booking a concrete site if possible as it is much easier if it rains! Also you can only use a mat made of 'shade cloth' type material on the grass sites.
The staff are very friendly and helpful Phil & Kay in particular were amazing.
Would be happy to stay here again in the future.

First I would like to say that the location of the park and Hervey Bay itself is a fantastic area and love supporting local tourism.

I am a midwife and have not had the luxury of having time off in the last 2 years as you could imagine. I came and stay at Scarness Park from the 26th to the 31st December and this was my first lot of annual leave in 2 years. I was going there to relax and unwind and the entire time I felt like I was on eggshells. I understand there are rules for a reason but they were dictated to me in a military style manner that said my way or the Highway. My ex used and still uses gaslighting and coercive control abs they way Kaye spoke to me triggered me as it was exactly how he used to act.
Furthermore I don't have a big rig, 22' van including draw bar and Nissan Navara and could only just it on my sight but had to climb across the car when I wanted to leave yet if my nose was a fraction over the white line I was told too bad I can park my car on the street. There was no tolerance for children being children the bathrooms weren't well kept (and I appreciate that we were to be self contained). There were several camper trailers that weren't self contained that had toilet tents and no grey water tanks.
The industry that the managers work in is one of customer service and that they did not provide. They ran a camp where they dictated what was allowed. I used to be a flight attendant so I know customer service well. All I wanted was a relaxing holiday but I was threatened with immediate expulsion from the park even though I followed the "rules".
I hope that someone has a discussion with them so they don't ruin someone else's very hard earned holiday.

Sorry no dogs allowed at Scarness Beach Holiday Park, when we stayed there friends with a small dog came to visit and were told they couldn't enter the park. We met them outside.
