Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really bad experience with bad fish soup and sleepy service. boring wine list and we had to wait for the food and drink. The lady who served us was nice but no energy. Our friends thought the same. But the place and the surroundings is great

We stopped by the restaurant for dinner on our day trip to Værøy. Excpeting nothing we were so positively surprised by the quality og the incredibly friendly and helpful staff - we’d recommend a visit to others! Also the old school sauna is great with a ladder straight into the ocean 👌🏽 Thank you, Jørgen, Edo and Co.

This was one of the worst experiences of staying in a hotel in Norway. Starting from the positive aspects , it’s quite close to everything and has a decent view. Furthermore , on the reception you can book an amazing bird watching tour , which I strongly recommend. The room looked like a cheap hostel , dusty, cold and smelling weird. Reception is closed until 14:00, and there is no one at the hotel who can tell you where to go. The receptionist obviously has no clue about hospitality, guests or anything in this hotel. Breakfast which is on the picture is 100 nok, in fact you can buy all of these products for 20 nok in the nearest coop on the island. The lunch is buffet, it costs 350 nok and you are getting ... pasta! I strongly recommend you to walk 500 meters to kiosk and get the decent food here. To sum up, probably this hotel was okay before, but now it’s shabby, dirty and sad. Nobody cares about anything here. It’s definitely not worth 1000 nok per night , I strongly recommend you to find another place to stay.

My daughter and I decided to eat in the restaurant while waiting to go for a boat tour (rib) to the far side of the Island, where the Puffins nest. We had a really nice buffet and the dessert was amazing. Very nice and friendly people working there. The boat trip, which is also based here, was a fun experience which made it possible to see areas of the Island that can only bee seen by boat. The tannoy system on the rib boat isn't that great but the skipper is very knowledgable and freindly, explaining things in Norwegian and English. We had a great trip and really enjoyed it. We had gone on lots of hikes around the Island and this was the perfect ending to our visit. A fantastic Island!

I've been to Værøy for just one entire day, arriving in the morning and leaving in the night. Since it was one of the many islands we were visiting, we had all our luggages with us. We asked to the restaurant if we could leave our biggest backpacks and the waitress was super kind and gentle, she allowed us to leave our stuff for the whole day. In exchange we decided to eat there for dinner, even cause on the island there is nothing more in terms of restauration offers, but it was one of the best places I've ever eaten. The fish is super, the quality of food is really good and the service was clean, accurate and super fast! The waiter asked us about the ferry time, in order to serve us in time. I totally recommend it to anyone that visits Værøy, really. It was part of a super experience we had.

We stayed in a "Rorbusuite", a cabin with 3 small bedrooms. The cabin was newly made up and nicely located on a pier quite close to the jetty and supermarket. It was tidy and bright. There was only one spoon in the kitchen. The restaurant was surprisingly good, serving tasty food at standard norwegian prices.

Convenient combination of a restaurant and a hotel. It is not far from the village center and the food is good. A workable alternative if you so happen to visit this charming island in the middle of nowhere,

We had a lovely six days of fishing in Vaeröy in August. We stayed at Vaeröy Brygge in a cabin almost out on the water. The cabin was nice with almost all the nessessary equipment. What was lacking we could ask for and it was fixed (but the TV, could not be fixed). Big widows in the cabins facing the water was nice to sit by and have your meal. One out of 3 rooms, in the cabin, had the window facing the wall of the cabin nextdoors, not a nice view when the other rooms had a nice scenery with the village and the mountains in the background...... We cooked our own food so we did not try the restaurant in the main building. It was nice looking and had a nice wiev over the Vaeröy bay. Drinks were ok....... If looking only from a fishermans angle, the facilities were quite ok, but the boats could be much better, and we probably had their best boat hired.

This island is seriously remote––that's what you come here for. Bring whatever amenities you need because there's very little in the way of supplies (especially on a holiday weekend, like when we visited). This is cabin living, but the rooms are clean, simple, and comfortable. There is a shared kitchen with dishes, a fridge, things to cook with. The restaurant had not yet opened for season when we were there, so food was scarce (we cooked a frozen pizza from the kiosk!) If you don't have a car, you have to hire an expensive cab to get anywhere. It's BEAUTIFUL here, but not really set up for tourists, so you have to be very self-guided. I am sure if we'd had a car and could have explored the entire island more, I would have seen more of the nature. Do make sure to explore the coast where the old church, old airport and Prestegarden hotel is, the landscape is stunning. This island is a truly untouched world, and that is rare in travel and worth the trade-off in conveniences. The owner gave us a ride to the ferry, which was really nice.
