On our tour of Scotland in Oct.2019 we stayed here visiting the Aberdeen area. Nice clean new rooms was most important. Breakfast was great with lots of choice of regular and Scottish breakfast options. I’m now hooked on haggis, blood pudding and beans for breakfast. Staff was very friendly. We didn’t try the evening menu as we brought in outside pizzas. I will stay here again when we are back in the area.
I’ve stayed in this hotel about 10 nights overall in the last few months. Not by choice but my company choosing to use this hotel as I’m an offshore worker. The hotel is very modern and is very clean. It also has a free car park for your whole offshore trip. The rooms are fairly decent as you’d expect in a new hotel. The food in this hotel is shocking. Firstly it’s very expensive and to real low standard. I’ve tried just about everything on the menu and haven’t enjoyed one single meal. I’ve talked to lots of fellow offshore workers and I haven’t heard any positive comments. The breakfast bags are an utter disgrace warm yoghurt was the tipping point for myself. The bacon sandwich was horrible the bacon was full of fat, absolute no TLC just slapped together. The pizzas on a night are cheap frozen, the pastas and curry’s are microwaveable meals (low standard) I’ve complained to staff on a couple of occasions and nothings changed. On a whole really disappointed with the food and I wouldn’t stay here if I had the choice.…
Well it’s the food that I’m upset about. It’s got to be up there with some of the worst meals I’ve ever been served.I’m guessing it’s all microwaved.Horrific standard and unpleasant, hope I can forget about this experience in time .
Vast improvement with the food compared to my last two stays. Not sure if chef/cook has changed but have enjoyed every meal last 2 days. Fair to say it was inedible on previous visits but what ever has changed is working. Well done.
Although I usually prefer independents, it can be hard to them in certain locations, north of Scotland is no exception. However, I gotta say, I’d probably stay here anyway just for their waffle maker in the morning. The hotel is spotless, staff are great. Food menu in the evenings is more of a snack menu which is my only gripe. My son loved it and slept great in the comfy bed. We had a great stay. But wow the breakfast is great. Some spread.
