We came here last year on a package and loved it so returned again. Élodie was very helpful when we booked directly as we wanted Thursday to Thursday. We stayed in a lodge which had plenty of room and a lovely terrace. We took the half board option and really enjoyed the variety of the menus with a plentiful cheeseboard as well. The staff are all very helpful and welcoming. The jacuzzi was powerful and very welcome for the tired ski legs!

We arrived very late so we’re glad to get into our room as the owner kindly let us in.
The room was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable. The balcony was lovely.
The shower was always hot and the bathroom was well equipped and modern.
We really loved the basement hammam, steam room, jacuzzi and Himalayan salt room which we could reserve privately.
Breakfast was varied and fresh and friendly service.
We stayed at Neige et Roc 4 star last year which is next door. We would definitely recommend staying here instead. I think it’s worthy of 4 stars not the 3 as certified.

We had a truly lovely time here. The hotel is family run and all the staff are really great and make you feel welcome. It had a chalet feel to the place. The rooms were warm and spacious with a great balcony. Breakfast was always well stocked with breads, fruit and a warm option. The bar area was cosy with large sofas and a fire. Decent draught beer and local wines. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was excellent, beyond what we expected ! Boot room was a tad small but heh ho. Ski bus was directly opposite which was handy. Samoens is a really lovely town, we will definitely return. Thank you

We booked this hotel for a late season, long w/e ski. Good position in Samoens, close to the centre and on the ski bus route to the GM express. Elodie and the whole team are very friendly and accommodating; the evening in house dinners are excellent. Great features such as the hamman 'wellness' facility just added to the stay. Great value and deffo on our return list.

Just returned from a lovely week in the gorgeous town of Sameon. Stayed at the Gai Soleil. Fantastic location and excellent hosts who were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has great facilities, the bedrooms had great views and were very comfortable. There is a lovely bar area serving drinks. Hot tub and spa area downstairs. Would highly recommend.

The hotel is in a brilliant spot maybe 3 mins from the town and right out for bus stop.
The family who run the hotel are amazing and the rooms are ideal. We didn't use the restaurant but was always busy. Samoens is fantastic and we had the best time skiing

Stayed here for four days early september. We flew into geneva and drove to samoens. We absolutely loved the village, just what we were hoping to find in the alps.

We booked into Gai Soleil on the basis of the price and location. I would say that on both counts it met our expectations. The location was superb, near the centre of the village and very quiet indeed. It was a mere minute's walk to the Centre where you get shops, cafes etc. We could not ask for more!

Room wise, it was great! We travelled with our 17 month old son, and they provided a cot for us, which was big and comfy for our big boy. The room was spacious enough for the 3 of us and has a terrace/ balcony looking out to the mountains. Bathroom was clean with good hot shower. Around the hotel, it has a great restaurant. Food is fantastic. Try the tartiflette. I had it two nights in a row. Very yummy. There is also a living area with fireplace and bar.
It has a huge green space at the back of the hotel, which our son absolutely loved running around. There are slides and swing for kids. There is also a small swimming pool indoor.

Overall the hotel is fantastic. It is rustic looking, and really what we were looking for. Service was good (for french, that is amazing) and baby-friendly, which was important to us.

Samoens is superb. We drove by many villages in the area and around, and found samoens to be the best. It is not too big and not too small... There is everything you would look for, quaint little shops, cafes, restaurants, bistros, supermarche....!

Note that the shops dont open on certain days, however wednesday is a busy day as there is also a flea market in the village. All shops open on that day.

From samoens we did some hiking and walking in nearby treks and highly recommend them. They are Cirque du fer a cheval (drive to Sixt fer a cheval) and cycling to Morillon from samoens on a cycle route. It will take you past Lac aux dames, and up to a smaller lake in Morillon. The scenery is amazing. Also, go to Cascade Rouges for a magnificent waterfall. You can drive up to the falls. There is another trek we did where we drove towards Les Gets and got off to do the La Bourgeoise walk. The walk takes about an hour up to the top of the mountain. From the top you get a fabulous view of the alps and Mont Blanc. Beautiful.

Our trip was memorable and we would definitely go back there.

We arrived late - a warm welcome for us. The location was excellent- a charming town, with lots to offer a family with small kids(6 yr old and an 8 month old baby). Breakfast was basic but fine, we had one dinner and it was excellent. Baby friendly, amazing fresh kids menu, and our meal was amazing. The town is full of tourists- most french- we liked that. We had a room with a double bed and bunk beds, the bunk beds were not comfortable for adult but kid didnt mind. The family that owns the hotel are lovely, and very helpful. We sadly had to leave early- but will be back! Thank you!

A lovely well run hotel. Rated 3 star (and I have marked it based on this) , I would say closer to 4 star.
Location : The hotel itself is well located, across the road from the ski bus stop and 1 min walk to the main street in the town centre.
Rooms : Fine. Beds and pillows comfortable. Bathroom fine too.
Lounge/Reception : Nice area, typical ski hotel style. Small bar with variety of drinks
Food : Breakfast was the usual buffet for a ski holiday. Good selection of things. We had dinner on one of the nights and it was very good.
Cleaniness. Spotless !! Very good indeed
Facilities : Great spa downstairs in main hotel, pool (which I didn't use) is in separate building 10 metres from hotel. The spa was very good. Jacuzzi, Hamman (I went late and think this meant temperature down a little) , relaxation room with beds and "salt walls", and shower. You can rent a robe and extra towel is required (5 euro so fine) Also a sauna which you can book.
Service ; Very good indeed. Friendly , very helpful and informative. Organised the breakfast to be ready 30 mins early as we had a taxi transfer coming.

Would I stay again ? Absolutely, without hesitation. A well run lovely hotel with good facilities, spotlessly clean, and great service.

I stayed here for five nights with friends for a skiing holiday.
It's very much a family-run hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and all the staff were charming.
The restaurant evening meal was very good. Overall it was very good value.
I would definitely return.
