Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This restaurant serves the hotel mainly but we stayed at a chalet in Vercland and went here to eat. It is a lovely family run restaurant with a great selection of traditional raclette, tartiflette, fondue and steaks. All of the food was just delicious, served by a very friendly lady who spoke English. We liked it so much we went back another evening and worked our way through more dishes, all excellent. Four adults, four teenagers, everyone very happy.

We stayed at the hotel in early March 22, and we are looking forward to returning. The refreshed gondola to the slopes was quick to access and rarely did we have to wait to get on. The food at the hotel was fantastic and wholesome. The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful given my poor ability at speaking French.

Very convenient location, just in front of he ski lift.
Decor and bathroom a bit dated but everything clean and functional.
Good service.
Breakfast is simple but with good quality products and plenty enough.
Restaurant offers a wide menu, but freshly made with good products and for a very reasonnable price.
Perfect for the short stay we made, skiing during the day.

We have just returned for a short last minute ski break. Hotel was excellent for a 2 star hotel. Close to the lift. Staff were all very friendly and spoke good English which was great for us. We will definitely return.

This stay was the price to pay for a same-day reservation: muddy parking lot, flaking walls in the corridors, dirty room, dirty bed sheets, pubic hair all over the bathroom, and the kitchen extractor vent right in front of our window.

I visited the other rooms and they all looked the same: dirty.

The whole place is creepy and I would strongly recommend to any traveller to stay clear of this place,

We were the first Crystal Ski customers to stay here and were the only English people in the hotel. We were made very welcome. The hotel compares favourably with most catered chalets we've stayed in. The food is very French, which we liked, and there were none of the mean portions you sometimes see in catered chalets. It's a fixed menu but there is flexibility if you don't like what's on offer. We were there over new year which was celebrated with le Réveillon de Saint-Sylvestre, a fantastic six course feast. We found the hotel clean and comfortable and was a good base for our ski holiday.

There is no Crystal rep in Samoens (the Flaine rep is available by phone and you can meet up with them on the slopes) so if you're new to skiing you might find it difficult to get yourselves sorted out without any help.
There is no point in buying a lift pass or ski hire from Crystal unless they offer you a very good deal. Buy your pass on-line and pick it up at the Vercland station for the Saix lift 100m from the hotel. For ski hire the hotel will be able to give you a 20% discount card for Jay Sport (SkiLoc) which is much cheaper than the Crystal prices we saw - the five of us saved €140. They have shops in Samoens Village and Samoens 1600 (the top station for the Saix lift). Because the ski bus only runs every 30m and stops at about 18h00 you'll find it easier to hire from Samoens 1600. It was a real pain getting skis to and from the village. The poor bus service is a shame because there are no shops in Vercland. There was never a queue for the Saix lift (although plenty up the mountain).

Wow what a fab hotel! We had arrived in Samoens on foot having hiked 4 days from Thonon les Bains on the GR5 and we decided to take a day off the trail and have a rest day. We stumbled into the Tourist Information Office in Samoens and they made the booking for us at Boule de Neige. The family came and collected us from the centre of town as it's a few kilometres out. We checked in on a half board basis. The room was lovely - spacious, nicely decorated, comfortable and clean beds, sun drenched balcony, lovely hot shower. The real stand out part for us was the food - I've never eaten so much in my life! Half board included a 5 course evening meal - fresh savoyarde salads, steaks, pork chops, fish, cheeses, and sumptuous icecream sundaes! All cooked by the Dad of the house. Breakfast was also lovely - fresh bread, pastries, yoghurts, etc. It's so close to the ski gondola, I'd love to come back in winter!

Visited for a weeks skiing in half term on a half-board basis. Good location near the gondola, but not a lot to do locally unless you drive into Samons itself (5/10 mims away). Pretty little hotel. The rooms good. resonable well designed, but rather dated - clean. Food good (albeit simple french household food). Good value and reasonable priced wine list etc. Unfortunately I had a lot of problems getting through to the owners that my children would prefer to eat what we ate and avoid processed foods, despite speaking average / good French she would not listen and kept giving it to them for a few nights. Which was a problem as my kids refused point blank to eat the French equivalent of Turkey nuggets - and I ended up eating them. Service was sullen even by French standards. If the service could be sorted out this hotel could be pretty good.

Nice hotel although basic. Lovely family running it, can’t do enough to help you. I’m a bit of a foodie but the fondu was great and also some of the other meals. Almost adjacent to the (very) old bubble up to 1600 where you can hire all you need. Was there with my adult daughter and would return for a short ski break.
Thank you to all the family!!

We booked this hotel for one night before a week in a chalet in Samoens
The welcome was excellent as were all the staff during our stay . The room was in the main house and was warm and quiet

We had dinner and breakfast and both were excellent and very good value. I would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the area
