Wonderful Little Find. It's a must if you stay in samoens. Great location. Food is absolutely superb, almost Michelin quality. We have a Superior room which is comfortable with a large balcony and fantastic size bathroom.
We would definitely book here again. It's a little gem!!
Family run and staff are so lovely

Rooms are clean, tidy, lovely decor, alpine, food is excellent, they will cater for dietary needs, lovely hot tub for after long days on mountain, the most amazing thing about this place is the staff, they were ALL so helpful, friendly and really cared about their jobs. The owners were present a lot during the day and were setting an excellent example of what they expected with regards to looking after the guests and attention to detail and the staff all did the same. We were delayed getting here on our first day and the owner waited up for us and gave us a plate of food as we were starving which was amazing. They cared about us having a good stay and were so genuine. The ski bus to the foot of the gondola stops right outside the hotel on the yellow route, and takes about 7 minutes to get to the gondola. Boot and ski room is in the basement for drying everything overnight. Breakfast was buffet style but delicious- cheeses, meats, pasties, breads, a bain marie to boil eggs or you could make an omelette in a saucepan, cereals, fruit, nuts, yoghurt. The evening meals were excellent. Bar area too so can enjoy book, drink, game etc. We were here as a family about 15 years ago, and it is more amazing than I remember, would definitely come back.

This was a repeat visit to this great hotel. Everything is run by Francoise and Olivier, who are always around and very aware of what's happening. They are ably assisted by their excellent staff, many of whom have been there for several years. The windows on two sides of our corner room more than made up for the fact that it wasn't huge. Plenty of storage space, though. And a great bathroom, with separate loo. The shower was fantastic. Breakfast has everything you could possibly want, and all excellent quality. Dinner in the restaurant is delicious. We like to eat in different places so took a five minute walk into town on several days. There is a swimming pool and during the last year a spa has been installed with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Good place to go after a day on the slopes. The ski bus stops outside. Can't recommend too highly.

Given this hotel has been running for a long time successfully with good reviews, I was surprised to find the staff quite brusque and not overly helpful. From the early conversations via email and phone and then whilst in the hotel itself. It was half term so I know they are busy then but..... just not very flexible, reluctant to help and just generally strict about everything. Asked for water and told to use glass in room and tap water, asked to call taxi and told no driver would come for the short distance to take us into town. Asked if they had a bin in reception and was despatched to downstairs toilets to hunt around for one. Not friendly and I felt under scrutiny and was told several times that kids are not allowed in the spa ! Maybe some people break the rules but I was not going to and didn’t need to be under surveillance!! The newly renovated spa area of the hotel is nice. Rooms are small but clean. Smallest toilet I’ve ever seen in our room tho the shower was good hot and powerful. Some tea /coffee tho no milk in the room. Didn’t bother to ask for any by that point !I won’t return because I prefer more friendly places.

Visiting Samoëns as a couple for business purposes but also combining our trip with a chance to relax. This hotel offers it all, excellent facilities with a lovely warm welcome from the owners.

They are attentive and meticulous about high standards whilst offering a relaxed atmosphere and inviting ambiance in all communal areas within the hotel.

Our room was a beautiful suite with stunning mountain views up across Samoëns and the sun shining constantly throughout our trip was wonderful. The room was spotlessly clean with crisp fresh linens and towels, including sets for using the relaxing jacuzzi and pool. We enjoyed very good massage treatments on site too from their lovely therapist.

The restaurant food was very enjoyable, fresh and tasty produce, the fillet and entrecôte steaks were superb.

Overall we can see why this family run business is super successful as they are obviously putting their hearts and souls into it and have done for a long time. We look forward to returning here and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel for couples or families alike, they is something for everyone here and the resort itself is so picturesque too.

Great family run hotel. Its the restaurant that makes the hotel so good - great food.
Nice comfortable rooms and a very nice spa and moderate size indoor pool. There is also a nice outside pool that would be lovely in summer. Owners and staff are very attentive and helpful. The ski bus stops right outside and it is quick walk into the village centre (out of ski boots) Samoens is a lovely tradition french village. The lift up to the ski area is fast and we did not queue once although we were not there in school holidays. Niege et Roc has the reputation of being the best hotel and restaurant in the area which I am sure is true.

We have spent a wonderful relaxing weekend here and have enjoyed first class hospitality from the owners and their team from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully decorated with countless Haute Savoie charm and is utterly spotless. Little touches like the guide book, robes for the spa and quality toiletries set this place apart from others. The restaurant is lovely with traditional regional food and wine - well worth a visit to unwind and recharge.

We love Samoens and have been coming to ski here for many years. Usually with family or friends we have stayed in Chalets or private residences. This time my wife and I chose this hotel and our choice was perfect. This is a lovely small family run hotel, very well run with a lovely spa and one of the best restaurants in the town. Because the free Yellow ski bus stops literally right outside the hotel it is fantastic to get straight to the lifts. The ski area is huge, covering Flaine and Samoens. How lovely to return to the hotel for a great jacuzzi, steam bath, sauna and space to relax before supper. Here is a view from my room.

Our return to this wonderful hotel was met with the usual warm welcome from the owners who make you feel very special indeed. We stayed in an apartment in the annex which gives us all the benefits of the hotel but the option to self cater if we have had too much to eat on the slopes. Having said that we had breakfast every day which was fantastic and ate most evenings also where the food choice was perfect and the standard excellent. A wonderful new spa area has been created which was beautiful and constructed in record time. This is the place to stay and eat if you ever consider visiting Samoens, you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful Alpine ambience; exceptional service from the family owners and staff in this hotel. The food is regional and delicious with a breakfast buffet which allows boiling of eggs and making of pancakes and omelettes. It is very comfortable and relaxed with indoor pool and hot tub as well as small gym. Very convenient to walk into the pretty old village and there are lots of walks nearby as well as the free ski-bus with its first stop right outside. Plenty of parking on site. Lots of games and books in a wardrobe in the foyer area. This is a one off family hotel which has 5 stars in all areas. It has to be experienced to be believed. We visited 12 years previously and the service stands out always. Will return again !
