This is the second consecutive year that we have been to Chalet Marie Stuart, it was everything and more. Caroline is a fantastic host and chef, her food ( breakfast, afternoon tea & dinner) were exceptional. Huge selection of buffet breakfast and daily hot option and then a fantastic three course dinner with wine . Relaxed coffee and chat by the roaring fire ....perfect. This is the best catered chalet we have been to in 15 years of skiing.
The chalet’s location is only a 3 minute bus journey (or 10 min walk) from the Vercland Lift, giving access to the Grand Massif ski area
Ski hire can be arranged at the top of the cable car, avoiding the need to carry any skis or poles, bonus!
Great bar, (La Reposette) at the bottom of the cable car awaits your return from a hard days skiing, double bonus . Already planning another stay this year .

Despite the mixed weather over the weekend I stopped at Chalet Marie Stuart I had a great time here, Caroline, the owner, is a great cook and a fantastic host. Probably the best food I've ever had on a chalet holiday, certainly the mix of good quality and enough food was appreciated, all served with matching wines. The room was cosy without being too fancy and a good en-suite shower. The chalet set in it's own grounds is a few moments walk to the ski bus to the Vercland gondola, a real trip into the 1970's probably one of the last heritage gondolas in the alps and about to be retired this year for one that doesn't leak and have hole in it!

We had a wonderful week at Chalet Marie Stuart, Caroline the owner was super friendly and helpful, and her food is excellent! The Chalet has good views and has traditional French mountain decor. There are great walking trails close by and close to the lifts to access more. Samoëns centre is a 15 minute walk, all restaurants and bars are open (June/July 2020)
Caroline has 2 little, sweet and friendly dogs that the kids loved (she is able to keep them out of the chalet completely if you are not a fan)
Already looking forward to our next trip back!

Have just returned from staying with Caroline over half term in February. Our group had sole occupancy of the chalet and stayed for 1 week. I’ve been skiing for nearly 20 years and have never experienced hospitality at this level before. Caroline the owner couldn’t do enough for us and her cooking is truly out of this world!! Our group would not hesitate in booking again. Thanks a million Caroline - we loved every minute of our stay - enjoy the rest of the season!! ⛷👍🙏🏔❄️

We have been coming to the Grand Massif for many years and were looking for new accommodation as previous favourite chalets are being sold by owners who are retiring. This chalet so ably run by Caroline was a great new find for us and we will definitely return. Plentiful tea, both bread and cakes after skiing with a great selection of spreads, wonderful breakfast and dinner, this ticked all the boxes.

Another awesome stay with Caroline at Chalet Marie Stuart. This was our third stay and we intend to return again and again. Caroline is a fantastic host and a fabulous cook. The chalet is warm and cosy, everything you want after a long day on the slopes. The grand massif area provides extensive skiing for all levels. Thanks again Caroline and Stuart.

Stayed at the chalet over Xmas with the family. Caroline was an amazing host and made us all feel very comfortable and 'at home'. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she had loads of interesting things to say about the area.

The food was fabulous and we all had a very merry Christmas!

Many thanks

Rhodri

A belated review for our weekend ski trip in March 2014.
This is our groups second visit to Caroline's chalet and I suppose that speaks for its self really. As I didn't review it the first time though I thought it only fair to do so now,
We had the use of the whole chalet and everything about this chalet is excellent - food, wine, bedrooms, hospitality etc. Caroline and her helpers really do make a great effort to make sure that your stay is as good as it possibly could be.
So very well done to Caroline and hopefully we will visiting again next year.

Stayed here with the whole family including baby over Christmas.
Snow conditions were the worst in 70 years.
Caroline was the most gracious and generous host and made our holiday memorable.
Despite the poor skiing available, everyone had a fantastic holiday and this was largely due to Caroline, who went above and beyond, to make our Christmas perfect.
I have no doubt we will be back.

The lifts are about 2 minutes from the chalet via a free skibus which stops about 50 metres from the chalet. Please let me know if you need further information. Regards Caroline
