Slightly misleading photographs, its not as comfy as it looks and efficiency and friendliness of reception staff needs improvement. We had a 10 person 4 bedroom apartment over 3 floors booked for first week of season yet the apartment only has one rather tired sofa bed and hard chairs in the living room and a standard single microwave. The small pool about 6mx2m and lounge area shown in pictures are actually in separate buildings and the staff would not let some of our party use the lounge on check out day whilst they waited for their taxi to Geneva. Neither could they check us in when we arrived about 11am, despite having no-one waiting, and insisted we return at 2pm by which time there was an hour long queue just to fill in paperwork the details of which they of course already had. The staff attitude was 'We are not a hotel!'. All fairly typical of the general French approach to apartments with dingy lighting and basic cooking faciliies, rooms with no shelves and cupboards or places to put things down. However, once we'd rearranged some furniture the apartment was OK, it was hot (most radiators ahd to be turned off) but with plenty of hot water a shower room/toilet, a separate bathroom, and a separate toilet was adequate for 8 adults. It has no ski-storage or boot warming area - worth getting skis from Xtreme Glisse right next to lift station and leaving them there! It has a ski bus stop right by the reception and is a 10 minute walk to either the town centre or the ski lift, the town is lovely and has plenty of shops and restaurants and a few good bars.

Excellent accommodation, close to ski bus stop and ideal for the town. If you want a ski-in ski-out holiday this won’t be for you as you need to get the gondola up every day to get to the snow. We where there over February half-term and the morning quays where a frustration as well as the over crowding on some of the slops. Choke points developed on some runs in the afternoon as skiers returned to the main lift to get back down the mountain and it was carnage. When the lift across to Flaine was open the skiing experience Improved dramatically, more runs and more space.

Lcated far from cable car, need to take your car or use the bus. Furniture quite old. Small pool and sauna, always full and need to pay for it extra. Overpriced for the conditions. Staff not very friendly, reception assured only a few hours.

These are great apartments very close to a ski bus stop.

We have rented a 2 bed apartment and it is very spacious with a bath and always hot water!

Our kitchen was fine for us but didn’t have an oven, just a microwave and no kettle but you can ask for one at reception. We actually boiled our water on the hob!

It takes about 10 mins to walk to the village centre which we did every morning and the ski bus to be lifts takes minutes.

For the price I would say it’s a fab option to keep ski holiday costs low.

The only problem we found was that the indoor swimming pool has no shallow end so not suitable for small children and that’s the only reason we probably wouldn’t stay again.

Cleaning wise we are going to clean the apartment ourselves so fingers crossed we don’t get charged but we have been told to strip all bedding and towels and leave them outside the entrance to the apartment block. We gather that if you pay for cleaning you have to clean the kitchen regardless.

Get little place for all ages if you don’t mind the swimming pool.

Overpriced for what it is. All very strange, have to make your own bed upon arrival and clean the apartment yourself or book a cleaner at the end of your stay for extra. Everything in this place costs extra. The fact that you have to pay for wifi in 2022 is an absolute cash grab.

You can check in from 2pm but you can’t actually get your keys until 5pm which makes no sense. The member of staff who checked us in was quite rude, favouring to talk to French guests first even though we were there first and then answering the phone when we were in the middle of checking in. We had to pay €400 euro deposit which is a ridiculous amount of money considering the furniture is all so old and could probably do with being replaced anyway!

Our apartment was relatively clean but the walls are covered in weird marks and there are cobwebs. They don’t provide you with any cleaning products so you have to buy a full pack of dishwasher tablets, toilet cleaner etc yourself which is just wasteful as I won’t be taking them back in my suitcase.

Location is alright, a bit out of the way but we walked 15 minutes to the Grand Massif Express chairlift everyday. There is also a bus stop for the ski bus right outside.

Lasting impression is that it’s incredibly overpriced for what it is. There are so many other options in Samoens. I would not stay here again.

First of all, this should not be under the category Hotel it is actually a Hostel.

You are welcomed by the most unfriendly staff that should not be in the industry. Once in the room you get a package with linen and are expected to make your own "beds" which are actually a bunk-bed and/or and fold out sofa.

Cleaning standard is under acceptable level, with dust everywhere. Broken
furniture, holes in the wall, mould in the shower... Fresh!

If going to the lovely town of Samoens, chose a different place to stay than the Faulty Towers of France, the Lagrange Vacances....

My 3rd time in the apartments, and still great value. We booked as a group of 4, and because we booked well in advance, it worked out about £140 each for the week. WHERE ELSE will you get a comfy, clean bed, linen and towels supplied, ample crockery and cutlery (although had to improvise an egg cup), TV, great heating and a boot/ski locker chucked in for that? The staff are very friendly, and there's a great system to buy fresh bread and delicious croissants every morning at good prices. The ski bus stops outside reception. There's a steam room/sauna and small pool for the kids if you need it. Check in and check out can get a bit busy, so here's a few tips:

Check in either early PM or around 6pm onwards for no queues.
Pre order your bread/treats for the week when you arrive
For FREE wifi - go sit in reception
When checking out you need to clean the apartment and leave it in good condition, and then the staff inspect it. If all the pots are clean and intact, and all bedding removed and used towels stacked neatly, it takes literally 1 minute to be inspected, so arrange a time the night before you leave and there's zero inconvenience, and you don't even need to drop the key's off as the inspector will take them.

Great apartments, great staff.

Read reviews from people moaning about silly things, I have to say the place is good, warm, clean apartments and the staff are fine (by French standards), this isn't billed as the Ritz and its well priced for what it is...

Pool is a little small but it says in the blurb its small, the place is in a great location next to the ski bus stop and not far from town.

We were an all-male group of keen skiers/boarders and had a good experience here, we'd book again.

Access from Geneva is v quick and your'e on the Grand M in minutes from leaving the apartment

First ever review on TA but felt so let down with the description of this place, felt the need to give honest opinion.

We booked a 3 bed duplex F8, which is for 8 people. Only being a family of 6 there should have been space to spare. There was not enough room.

We are a family that likes to cook and maybe venture into town, not fussed for nightlife or anything exciting after a hard days skiing.

1) One sofa only which seats 3. The Rest of you have to sit on wooden benches for the evening, not ideal for a relaxing evening.

2) only one toilet so plenty of queuing on a morning and middle of night not ideal to have to sneak downstairs! Not ideal if you have guests sleeping on sofa bed as they will be disturbed!

3) kitchen was not practical for family cooking for 6 (never mind 8). No work surface for prep, only a sink and cooker top, no prep space. You therefore had to use dining room table, where rest of family are sat because not enough sofaseating!

The oven was of small microwave size and therefore, our wholesome family evenings of home cooked food were non-existent. Massive fridge and full size dishwasher, but not the essentials of an oven. The microwave was a mini oven able to grill etc however it was high up on top of the fridge and just about ok for heating soup. No instructions how to use in the apartment.

4) Hot water tank only gave quick showers for 4 so if 8 stay half will need to shower am and half pm. Not ideal water runs cold with 4 out of six showered. Timed showers still didn't hit 6!!

5) pillows oh my lumpy is one word, lumpy bumpy all night long.

6) No wardrobe in two bedrooms, no drawers in bunk bed room, main room with balcony v small with v little room to walk down bottom of bed before hitting wall!

7) curtains were hanging down, cobwebs here and there, bath panel not fitted properly, skirting board just pushed on... Needs a little maintenance and thorough spring clean. Under beds had not been cleaned in a while!

Positives - facilities outside the apartment were good, pool communal areas, ski bus stop and a ten min walk into town all perfect.

The level of comfort and facilities in actual accommodation for what we paid is poor. I did think if staying with group of friends and out every night ideal. But not ideal for a large family for relaxing nights in.. Either awake or asleep!!

Stayed here for two weeks in March and we loved it, so much so I have booked up for new years week next winter. The apartment was clean and comfortable and had everything you could need. We weren't going to eat in much but did in the end because it was so well equipped, much better than most of the French apartments we have been to in the past. I understand all apartments are identical, but one thing we loved about ours was that it was on the corner with a huge wrap around balcony, and we were able to sit out in the sun,, in march!
The beds were comfortable and linen is supplied, we loved the duvets which is something we have never seen before in similar places.

There were five of us and although the shower was super powerful (brilliant)we never once ran out of hot water, a huge plus! There is coin op laundry in the apartment building too which we found a great help, being there two weeks.

The location of these apartments is really good, a 10 minute walk to the village ctr. The ski bus runs an awesome service right to the door of the reception building, very convenient. Staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful, and the one problem we had was fixed in 15 minutes.

Samoens itself is a wonderful place to visit, It's so much nicer than many of the other places we have been, I think charming is the word. Great places to eat, but a good tip,, book your table!

I really cant think of much negative to say other than be careful in the car park, the covered parking is really tight and I had a close one with the hire car.

Skiing the Grand Massif was not new to us, but as ever we loved it.

All in all for money paid we thought this place was great value.

Hi guys. The bus journey takes about 5 minutes and runs from before the grand massif express (gme)lift opens in the morning and they run until it closes. The grand massif express runs on a little bit later than the hill lifts so there is time to have a quick drink at Samoens 1600. You wouldn't want to stay up at 1600 any later than the last gme lift as you would then be stuck. In the event you needed to walk, which I can't see happening, it would probably take about 20 minutes, but I have never done it. I wouldn't fancy it in ski boots, I'm too soft for that. Early evening is my favourite drinking time in the village, still in my ski gear. It's at its busiest then. The apartments are great value for money, we have booked now for the 5th year in a row. I like the aspen cafe in the evening right after skiing. Later on I go to coveys Irish pub. There is a Sherpa shop just a 5 minute walk away from the apartment and they sell pretty well all you need, or if you need a big shop there is. Carrefour supermarket just outside town. Tiffany bakery is amazing. If your flying into Geneva and hiring a car, make sure you hire on the Swiss side and not the French side. The drive is very easy and takes about an hour. If you have any more questions, just ask. You will have a great time in certain. Ronnie
