This hotel is situated in the town of Venosc which adjoins L2A. It’s a 7 minute walk to the nearest cable car; the Diable, and a 25 minute walk to the Jandri Express cable car and the ski schools in the centre of the resort. There is a free bus service that stops near the Diable kiosk that regularly runs to the centre of L2A. There are bountiful bars, cafes, restaurants, supermarket, ski wear shops and a nightclub a short walk from the Serre Palas.
The room was very clean and comfortable with three single beds and a large bathroom with a good shower. It had a Julliet balcony overlooking the hotel entrance and during heavy snow fall large machines worked through the night to keep the streets clear.
There’s a continental breakfast buffet with plentiful supply of coffee, tea, fruit, juices, cereal, croissants, bread etc.
Dinner is served in the gourmet restaurant across the street at around 18:30. The food was excellent and varied and included the obligatory fromage raclette, and Fondue meals.
The hotel and restaurant staff were all very helpful and welcoming.
There was a ski locker room or you could pay to store you ski gear near the ski school and save walking with ski boots on.
Transfer time to Chambery or Grenoble Airports was between 120 and 180 minutes for us.

I cannot speak highly of this hotel, firstly the 2 star rating is completely inaccurate it is a 3*++, the hotel is so clean and tidy, each day we are greeted by the owners who are just so kind (and their dog who is very cute), nothing is too much for them, everything we asked for they had, they were happy to lend us charger plugs extension leads.
Rooms are spacious with English tv, tea and coffee making facilities, we had a quad room for three and it’s just so spacious. Each day it is cleaned fresh towels cannot fault the cleanliness!
We opted out of the half board option however, I read two reviews that were very negative, when speaking to Nelson they said ‘we haven’t had many issues with the food’ which I think they should look into this as I am pleased I went with my gut and cancelled as speaking with ALL people in this hotel the food is bland, inedible and they have had no choice. Eating out isn’t expensive here the food is lovely from pizzas to fagitas and foundues you won’t go hungry, The Spot, Smithys, Lane Cellier, Le Grain De Sel, The Soul Kitchen and I’Igloo are a must we ‘trip advisored’ all of these are we were not disappointed.
Please do not think that the food or half board option is the hotels fault as it is no reflection on them as you eat at a restaurant down the road.
The breakfast is great everything you need freshly baked bread, croissants and the best selection of snacks for the children! If you want anymore pastries or rolls you only have to ask, they are very accommodating.
I will be recommending this to friends and family, it is a great price, excellent location, 4 min walk from the lift, supermarket opposite, clean, friendly staff and spacious rooms with a great breakfast. I will return, again don’t opt for the half board Inghams should take this option off and raise the star rating as I have stayed in worse 4*.
Thank you so much Virginie and Lionel and 🐶for such a great stay!

What a fantastic place!

Hotel Serre Palas is a beautifully situated little hotel, owned by two very welcoming and lovely people.
We arrived to the smell of freshly baking croissants which were served for breakfast every morning, in the homely breakfast room.
There is a ski and boot room with your own locker, and the hotel itself is a short walk to the Diable chairlift for easy access to the mountain. Across the road is a Sherpa supermarket for any grocery needs, and across the road and down from this is Bar Doume where we had our evening meals (half board with Inghams.)
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Serre Palas - were made to feel most welcome in this unassuming, well situated, little gem of a hotel.

This hotel has different styles and different size rooms. The first room we were in was very small at the front of the hotel and very noisy in the middle of the night ie 03.00 am. My tip would be to make sure your room is at the back of the hotel. Continental breakfast has a large selection. The hotel is spotlessly clean.
'FOOD' We travelled with Inghams on a half board basis. The reason we booked this hotel was the fact it was family run and so we expected some home cooked food in the evening. The truth is we were sent down the road by the owner to a BAR/restaurant 'Doumas', where the food that was put in front of us was awful. I could use another word to describe it but you get the idea for example, there is no choice whatsoever, a plate of lettuce was put in front of me as a starter and when I said I don't eat lettuce do you have any soup I was told the food was prepared during the day and that it’s take it or leave it. Take my Tip do not book Half Board at this hotel there are plenty of nice restaurants catering for all size budgets. We eat at Le Celler after deciding we could not eat the rubbish Inghams provided for us at the Doumas. You will find the food at Le Celler is outstanding, that is the reason the place is packed out every night. We will be asking Ingrams for our money back for the food as to my mind they have not provided what we paid them for. Our unhappiness with the evening meal has no reflection on this lovely hotel as it was arranged by Inghams.

Thank you for your stay in our hotel Mrs May. It was a pleasure to welcome you and we hope your ankle is better. We wish you a good recovery. We are a little surprised to learn that the room you occupied for the first two nights was noisy. This is extremely surprising because it is the first time that we have had such a return, given the situation of the room. I is unfortunate and disappointing that you did not let us know the next morning. It was with pleasure that we offered to change your room, not because of the noise but because you had an ankle injury and that we wanted to please you with a large room with a south balcony. Extremely surprised by the very harsh and hurtful words used towards the restaurant "Le Doumé’s". Above all, the fact of being "sent" to this restaurant could not be a surprise given the fact that this is clearly stated during your reservation and on the Inghams website and that we do not have a restaurant in our hotel. You also had the choice to book your stay only in Bed and Breakfast. Once your dissatisfaction is known, everything was done on the part of Doumé’s to try to please you but without success because you did not return to the restaurant (without notifying the restaurant owner who planned your meal every evening). It is important to remember that in a majority of establishments offering half board, the menu is often unique. It is almost unthinkable and improper to ask to replace an "à la carte" dish costing more than your half board. There is a difference between a simple meal and a "rubbish" meal. All the Ingham's customers sent to this restaurant in previous weeks were very satisfied and we had no negative feedback. They hadn't forgotten that this is a half board meal. On the contrary, the customers present for the New Year's meal were delighted. Hoping that you will keep a good memory of your stay in Les 2 Alpes. Take care Mr and Mrs May .

A very cute place. The staff are very cheerful, friendly and hospitable.

Our room and the entire place was impeccably clean.

Generous breakfast.

I sincerely appreciated that the manager was able to get us in over Christmas week.

Great location, near all kinds of stores and restaurants.
6 minute walk to Diable lift. 350 meters

Lockers for skis

This hotel has rooms of different sizes. Ours room 26, was cozy, just right for two. The rooms for four were quite spacious.

They decorated beautifully for Christmas.

Very nice tiles in the bathroom. I liked that it's organized like an American bathroom with shower sink and toilet all in one room.

Due to covid restrictions, they couldn't allow evenings use of the breakfast room. That was a bummer. They still lit a nice little fire in the fire place.

Great view. Even though our room faced away from the nearest peaks, we had a great view down the charming street and had views of the other peaks in the background. Loved the view.

Microwave access upon request (due to covid). There's also a public use microwave at the grocery store across the street!

We stayed here as a group of 10 in Feb 2022. Hotel is in a great location, 2 minutes walk from the Diable chairlift, a pizzeria/pub, supermarket and ski hire are all within 100 metres of the front door. Hotel is warm and welcoming, comfy beds and great showers and a good continental breakfast. Evening meals are in the restaurant opposite the hotel and were very good. The resort is also very pretty with a good vibe and plenty nightlife. We would definitely stay here again.

It is a family run hotel which is a 5 minute walk away from the ski lifts, it has a ski room to lock your gear away in and is all very easy for the skiing/snowboard side of things. The rooms are very clean and cosy, nothing to fault and they even come with a safe to keep your valuables. Breakfast in the morning is beautiful with freshly baked Croissants and baguettes waiting for you also with a big self service bar with so many other breakfast options. Would recommend for anyone, is very good with family’s and perfect for your skiing/snowboarding holidays!

Close to a ski lift, supermarkets, great restaurants the hotel was without a doubt one of the nicest hubs I’ve had on any skiing trip.
The staff are welcoming, polite and will do all the can to make sure you have the perfect stay.
The rooms are spacious (we had a room with a balcony) with great views that are clean and exactly what you’d look for. Breakfast was a buffet style with fresh bread and croissants handed over to you table as you sit down. There’s a great selection and everything you’d need to start the day.
You have secure lockers for ski stuff with drying boot rack.
The location really is ideal here. It’s a short walk over to the supermarket and some great restaurants. There is a bowling alley over the road with amusements and pool. A ski lift is about a 4-5 minute walk away with a few bakeries along the way, really ideal for the morning to get ready for a day out there.

I really couldn’t recommend this place more, the 2 stars is not reflective on what you actually get here. The hosts are amazing and will make you want to come back.

We spent a week in this great hotel in February 2024 with a 10 year old child.
The owners were very helpful, our room was cleaned every day and the continental breakfast was delicious with a variety of food provided. We have been skiing in a lot of resorts in France , Italy and Austria , but this hotel surprised us by only having 2* and we think that it is one of the best that we have ever been to.

Highly recommended for everyone.

We have just returned from a fabulous week staying at this wonderfully cute hotel. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The rooms suited us perfectly, as a family of 3 with a teenager boy we had a lovely divide from our bedroom to his. The bathroom and toilet were separate and we had a brilliant suntrap balcony to catch some winter sun. The ski lift was a 2 minute walk away and lots of restaurants, cafes and shops were on our doorstep. The hotels breakfast was delicious and just what we needed for a day on the slopes, we were given fresh croissants and baguette every day and then there were cheeses, meats, yoghurts, pancakes, waffles, fruit, cookies, snacks the list goes on and on (no hot food but don't let this out you off!). There is a secure boot room and you're provided with a locker. The hosts also advises you of local village events which I thought was a very nice touch. This is never a 2 star hotel and I couldn't recommend it enough, thank you for our wonderful stay!

Answer from Lionel M
Les Deux-Alpes, France
Hello, Thank you for your message. If you need to book an half board it's may be you want to book through a tour operator. Also you could book only on B&B option on tour operator website (you could choose B&B or half board option). We are a B&B hotel, but we go for half board with a restaurant in front of our hotel, the Doumé's. Hoping to have answered your question, thank you.

Hi Liz, there are at least 3 ski schools in Les Deux Alps. The hotel is in the town and the schools meeting points are located at about 10- 15 minutes on foot. I hope this helps.

Just go back from serre palas! Ski passes are bought daily or for six days from pass shop located 400 metres from the hotel. There are a abundance of ski hire shops close the the hotel. We hired ours from under the Aalborg hotel good skis good service and you can store your boots a skis there every day if you wish saves carting them home :/)
