We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Jam Session. We came for a ski trip for a week, and stayed at the hotel with 4 adults and a five year old. We really felt at home.

Because of getting stuck with our car on a snowy road, we arrived late in the evening. The hotel staff kept some food for us, although dinner time was actually over. The next morning we slept in, and they kept some breakfast for us. Every evening before dinner, you can go to the bar and have a drink, with some nice complementary apetizers. The food was very good (we got the half board), with an Italian twist. They have a nice and affordable wine selection. Bar and restaurant staff Carmelo and Alex are the nicest of people. They even got our 5 year old son a little trophy when he finished his ski classes. They go above and beyond to make your stay memorable.

The rooms are basic, but clean and sufficient. They come and clean the room every day. Hot water in the shower/bath tub, a little balcony with an amazing view on the mountains.

We came to ski, and the hotel has a convenient ski room, where you can leave your equipment in the evenings. From the back door, when leaving the ski room, to the nearest ski lift it is a 3 minute walk. There is also a bus stop near the hotel where you can take the free shuttle bus to the town centre and more ski lifts.

Under the hotel is a free covered parking lot, where your vehicle can stay snow free during your stay.

We really loved our stay at Jam session, which is very good value for money. We hope to be back for a next ski trip!

We have just completed a week long stay with hotel Jam Session booked through sunweb. Overall the stay was excellent for the price paid we couldn't have asked for anymore.

The room was spacious with a good sized bed and plenty of storage for two people. The bed was very comfortable with two single duvets.
The shower was nice and strong and a good temperature, the boiler above the toilet was interesting to see but not an issue.
Cleaning was done daily, with fresh towels etc when required. Overall the hotel is clean but as expected a little dated, but the hotel prioritises being affordable over cosmetics.

The ski storage room leads out onto two slopes/lifts pretty much and a bus gets within 2/3 minutes walk making trips into town very easy.

The food is a buffet breakfast with options for everybody, including cheese, ham, bread, croissants, yoghurt, eggs, cereal etc. which was more than adequate for us.

In the evening they do a set 4 course meal Italian style, typically buffet salad, pasta dish, meat dish and then pudding. These were largely good, portion sizes for us were a little small given the amount of exercise we were doing! (although we have big appetites).

The staff were very friendly and made the stay comfortable for us.

We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on future.

We booked this hotel based on price, we did read the reviews and knew more or less what to expect.
The rooms are basic but more spacious than we have had elsewhere. They are exceptionally clean with daily housekeeping.

It’s the people that make this hotel. We had a few issues but the hotel manager couldn’t have been more helpful and offered solutions. Nothing was too much trouble in the hotel or the restaurant, for example, one evening was fish themed and staff checked with us at breakfast and offered alternative meals, which we appreciated very much.

All staff are beyond friendly and make the effort to remember everyone’s names, which we found to be a lovely and personable touch.

Great location for access to the slopes (we were just unlucky with the weather).

We stayed here for a weeks skiing at Jan Session hotel on half board. I would rate the hotel as a 2 star hotel. The rooms are basic but fine. Soon time for a refurb. The ski room is easily accessible and no more than 1 or 2 mins to the slopes. Tip - the Villahe lift is very close for a return from mid station. Breakfast was buffet style. Evening meals Italian style 3 / 4 courses. There is also a gym in the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Pleased we stayed.

Booked a 3 night stay as a solo traveller. My room was fine (agree with other reviews that they are a bit dated now), comfortable bed, clean sheets and hot shower. It's a bit of a walk up from the town but there are free buses if you don't have the energy. No issues with breakfast and the dinner I had here was tasty and accompanied by an excellent bottle of wine with the hosts recommendation.
The team who run/own the hotel are brilliant, really engaging and friendly. Michele could not have been more welcoming.
Very pleased with my stay here and would stay again.

We have stayed a couple of times already at the hotel and we need to say that staff are excellent including owners, always nice and very helpful.
Great and tasty food, hotel is situated very close to chair lift and you can ski back down to the door. We can highly recommend this place.

Many thanks Michele for the warm welcome and daily care. It’s really not just a hotel, but a feeling of being at home. The owner of the hotel is a very attentive and sincere person. Dinners in the restaurant are varied and delicious. Dear Michele, I wish you many pleasant clients!

We have been staying in this hotel each time we come to ski for the past 15 years! The owner and manager Michele is an amazing person, as well as the rest of the staff - Carmello in the restaurant, Alex in the bar and all the other kind guys who will make your stay unforgettable. We love the half board here - you will feel like you are in Italy while skiing in the French Alps. Great food, wine and cocktails! The rooms are very comfortable, nothing fancy but so cosy! When there is enough snow, you can literally ski to the hotel. The sunset views are stunning. This family hotel really feels like home and we will come back with great pleasure!

One of very few resort hotels to offer flexible dates rather than week-end in week-end out.
Family run, family atmosphere. Run by Italian ski instructors. Recently changed status from "Residence" to "Hotel", so hasn't yet been classified and is therefore hard to find on the web - but well worth the search! Location - at 2 Alpes 1800, so away from the main drag and club scene, but at the foot of the slopes, so one can ski straight back to the hotel.
Very functional and comfortable accommodation, great rates - very clean, good facilities, including a well equipped gym.
Half-board provides an excellent breakfast buffet and a wonderful 4 course "vera cucina casalinga" dinner. But the best part is the atmosphere and the helpfulness of the owners.
Jam Session attracts a loyal clientele of family groups, but can even make a solo snowboarding "gap" student feel at home; the owners will also go the extra mile and were willing to provide transportation at unreasonable hours when local public /taxis would not oblige.
A real find when so much Alpine hospitality has become industrialised - this was true, warm, personalised hospitality - the perfect place to relax after a long day's skiing.

I booked this hotel because it was one of a few where I was able to get a 'single' room (which turned out to be a double!), without paying twice the price. I was encouraged by the positive reviews on Tripadvisor, which turned out to be very accurate. This is a modest hotel with 5 star Management and staff. It was my first skiing holiday. The hotel is located in an excellent position for access to a chair lift and within the immediate vicinity is a shop, bar (happy hour 4pm - 8pm!), svereal restaurants and a sports centre with a swimming pool which is both covered and uncovered! The food was very good. It was a shortish (10 minute?) walk into the town centre (it felt longer on the way back though as it is uphill!). There is a free shuttle bus which runs all around the town/village which runs up to around 7pm, it does get very crowded at times, but everyone somehow managed to get on. The highlight is undoubtedly the customer service. If in doubt about anything just ask - they will do their very best to help!

Looking to stay here. Do you know the charge of a ski pass and ski hire please
Answer from Stuart J
King's Lynn, United Kingdom38 contributions13 helpful votes
There are lots of options for Ski hire (there is an inter sport a short walk from the hotel), the best prices are generally online. Alpinresorts has some good deals so with a look. As for the lift passes, aginy, have a look at the prices online. Generally cheaper than buying from the town centre and some companies will offer reduced passes with ski hire. I used Bens Bus as a transfer company and they have links to partner companies offering reduced prices too.
