I was visiting family in France for the holidays and had the opportunity to spend a couple of nights at La Dulciniere. It was not intended that way but I should admit it was kind of my Christmas gift. Many have commented on the great location, the kindness of the hosts and the very comfortable and nice set-up but what...

After travelling for 5 weeks, this was an oasis with its wonderful garden setting and tastefully furnished rooms. Godeleine Peteul welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm and continued to be most helpful during our stay. The homemade breakfast - jams, cakes, cereal and yoghurt were all made by Godeleine.

I lived in Chatellerault in the late 1950s and wanted to return to visit. I was looking for a place where I would feel at home and within walking distance to everything in the center of town. I was so fortunate to have found La Dulciniere with Godeleine and her lovely family. The location could not be better and the...

Tired of driving on the A10 to Bordeaux, we decided to take a stop-over in Chatellerault, a small town located just off the highway. Not easy to find a room, only two hotels, one full-booked on a Sunday night, the other not so attractive, we were lucky to find La Dulcinière, a charming city-house with a beautiful garden. We stayed...

Godeleine, the hostess, could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. We stayed at la dulciniere for 4 nights with our 3 children. Breakfast was very good every morning, plentiful, fresh with homemade jams and cakes every day. 2 minutes walk Into a pleasant town centre. Godeleine was happy to provide advice and recommendations for anything we wanted to do....

We stopped here for 1 night on our way down to the Dordogne and had a loverly stay. Godeleine welcomed us in and made us feel very much at home. Our rooms were a good size and nicely decorated. We have a 2 year old and there was plenty of space in our room to set up her travel bed....

We stopped at Chatelleraut on our way from Le Havre to Bordeaux. The town itself is nice and has a good food market on saturday morning. We contacted Godeleine Peteul via a google search. She sent us very good directions. When we arrived the property was very central with parking outside. We entered via a large green gate. The house...

A quick trip to the tourist office who recommended La Dulciniere, which is right in the centre of town and at about 80 Euros per room B&B sounded like good value. The tourist office very helpully booked thhe rooms for us and...
