We stayed here last year, breaking a journey from Calais to Arcachon, but couldn't experience the Restaurant because it is closed on Sunday evenings (as are the other restaurants in Chatelleraut!). This year, we stayed on a Saturday evening and made sure that we booked a table at the restaurant as well. The meal was excellent and well worth the...

We stayed here during a wedding. Wonderful, friendly service and a great location to the town. Morning breakfast was always warm and served with a smile. Clean rooms with plenty of space. Showers were handheld showers with a large tub. We loved the location. We easily walked to the plaza to check out the shops and local restaurants. The decor...

We chose this hotel as we knew we were going to arrive late on our way to Bordeaux from the ferry at Caen. It did not state a front desk closing time, just a check in time from 16.00 so we decided to book it. We arrived after midnight and there was no one on the front desk and had...

We chose this hotel as a stop over enroute from Paris to the south of France. The building is lovely and we received a warm welcome and experienced very helpful service, with towels and drinks being rustled up so we could enjoy the pool and garden. The decor could do with a little paring back, in the rooms and interiors,...

Lovely building and large garden with lots of potential but oh dear, does it need some upgrading and sorting out. A hotch potch of mismatched furniture and colours and lack of the quality touches that make staying in this kind of 'chateau style' hotel a pleasure (proper hairdryer, bath products rather than generic liquid in a dispenser) made our stay...

The internet pictures looked stunning so we decided to stop here for lunch. It was August but no flowers to decorate the entrance of this impressive building and taken out to the terrace, leaves from the garden trees had fallen and not been swept up. It gave an uncared for impression. Seated at a table and having ordered our aperitif,...

After trying to find a place to stay on our way from bordeaux to tours, we stopped Chatellerault, we arrived at La Gourmandie at 6:30 last minute with a baby. They were very welcoming and had a room available for stay. Outside area was great and dinner amazing.

We found the hotel after leaving the Ibis Hotel( terrible ). The owners made as feel extremely welcome ( at very short notice ) and with could not have done more for our 18 month old daughter. The rooms are immaculate, beautiful and extremely unique. The staff are very friendly and kind, the grounds just magical and the breakfast... We...

I tried to book this hotel for myself and two colleagues whilst in Chatellerault for business, but unfortunately it was fully booked. We made do with having our evening meal there instead, and we were amazed at the exquisite interior and fantastic atmosphere. The dining room is not too large, but not crowded, and the adjacent lounge area is extremely...

We stayed on a Sunday night and the restaurant was closed - and so was almost everywhere else in the town and we ended up eating Japanese food.\but is was a good place to stay; comfortable and welcoming with a very good breakfast. Not cheap but comfortable and quiet. We will go again - preferably when the restaurant is open....
