This hotel has a good location by the river and near the center of Chalon-sur-Saone, rooms are comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful.(They even sent to me by mail a phone charger that I forgot to take with me.)

The hotel is in a good location and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is showing signs of its age but is clean and comfortable. It doesn't pretend to be luxurious but is perfectly adequate for a short stay. Try and get a room with a river view.

A family run traditional hotel. Sylvie welcomed us on arrival and could not be more helpful. Given room on second floor with a great view of the river. Original opening in windows with double glazing so very quiet. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast selection. A few minutes walk across the river to the rue de Strasbourg where there is a great... More

Situated right in the river , and a five minute walk from the centre of town, I thought it was brilliant. The hotel is a bitt shabby, but full of character. There is a surprise round every corner. The staff were first class really helpful. The room was large and comfortable with a view of the river.I paid the extra... More

We stayed at the Hotel Saint Jean on two occasions in September 2015. Two nights then another night a week later. Stanislas and Sylvie were gracious and helpful, keeping our extra luggage for the week we were away and helping us with parking our rental car. We were two couples (seniors) traveling together and Sylvie arranged for us to have... More

This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel but it is clean and the beds are comfortable. Close to the river and the old town. Bit noisy if you have a front room (traffic). The staff are very friendly and helpful, gave us plates and glasses so we could enjoy a glass of wine in our room. The hotel... More

My husband and I stayed here for a week and had an exceptional experience. Stan and Sylvie were so friendly and accommodating. The room was spotless and had beautiful windows overlooking the Saone. Location was excellent. The breakfast was delicious, including fresh baguettes, croissants, pain chocolate and also choices of cheeses and yogurt. We highly recommend this hotel and look... More

The location is absolutely perfect, right on the shore of the river and blocks away from the city center. Everything is old-fashioned but in a very charming way. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The receptionist moved his own car away in order to give me his parking space.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel.
