We loved staying in Tram 590 as a family of four, we felt very welcomed. We arrived mid afternoon and enjoyed the facilities on the property including the tennis court, swimming pool and frisbee golf. We enjoyed a delightful early evening overlooking the mountains before using the BBQ and indoor kitchen setting for our meal. The breakfast was just delicious with attentive service from the hosts. Stay here if you are looking for a friendly and comfortable stay.

My partner and I absolutely loved our 2 night stay at Last Stop Ambledown Brook. We stayed in T4786. It was surprisingly spacious for a converted "red rattler" carriage complete with all amenities. And whilst the temperature dropped into the minuses outside overnight it was toasty warm inside with the fireplace and the air conditioners. Dave and Jenny were delightful hosts. Check out the various "collections" in the dining room. Nostalgia on every surface. I would definitely recommend this amazing B&B.

Such a unique place to stay. We had a comfortable stay in one of the trains which had everything we needed. Full kitchen made meal times easy and plenty of room to spread out. Super warm heaters throughout and lovely views of the mountains when you wake up in the morning. David and Jenny the hosts are lovely and a warm breakfast every morning was lovely.

If you are looking for something a bit different then this is for you. The property is absolutely beautiful on 40 acres of rolling hills and stunning scenery and surrounded by wineries, beautiful countryside and quaint villages and only 30 mins drive into Canberra. We stayed in Train Carriage #4388 which was a real 1950's movie buffs delight. Filled with memorabilia, furniture and fixtures, it was a fantastic step back in time, but also super cosy and comfortable, clean and had everything you would need. Plus beautiful views of the sunset and rolling hills from the deck and plenty of kangaroos around too. We enjoyed a stroll around the property then a cosy night infront of the log fire with red wine and a movie. Cooked a meal in the retro kitchen which had everything you'd need, also a bbq outside. The cooked breakfast the next day was delicious and the hosts were lovely people and very welcoming and informative. There are 2 other train carriages and one tram around the property. Will have to try them next time. Fantastic spot, highly recommend!! Tara & Jamie - Stayed 16-17 June 2020.

We stay here overnight in a great couples train carriage with shower, kitchen, lounge and bedroom. The piece and quiet, wildlife and very friendly hosts and good breakfast made the whole experience perfect. We have a great time and will be returning again during the summer.

We wanted to stay here for the experience of sleeping overnight in a converted train carriage, and that was amazing enough. Beautiful, cosy and lots of thoughtful little details (right down to train-themed books for the kids to read). But what was even better was the hospitality of the hosts, Jenny and David. They made us feel very welcome and cooked us bacon and eggs on the first morning, and then, on the second morning, when there was a power failure in the district, they invited us into their warm kitchen and still managed to cook us bacon and eggs on a camp stove. Highly recommended.

This is an amazing experience. Driving up the hill to the house and then down to the carriages is already stunning. We stayed in T4876. It was beautifully decorated, the posters/decorations were interesting and some brought back memories of early days. The fitout of the carriage, providing lounge area with TV, books etc, full kitchen with sitting area and fireplace, shower and separate toilet, bedroom with comfortable bed, all airconditioned (!), was just amazing. There's even a laundry. Sunrise in the morning, overlooking the valley and hills, was breathtaking. You are at peace with the world in this place. Breakfast in the house was delicious and, again, decor of the room and enclosed verandah was interesting, to say the least.

We (2 families) stayed in the XBS 2162 and had an awesome time. It’s the type of place where a 1 or 2 night stay will leave you wishing you had booked for more! You could easily base yourself here for a week to visit both Canberra attractions and food and wine venues around Murrambateman/Yass area if you don’t mind driving up to 30minutes to each and are planning on eating out at night mostly. Our carriages each had a bar fridge, tea/coffee facilities and a microwave. There was a BBQ and some small outdoor tables. We used the later for our simple lunch of wraps and fruit. There was a small eating area (for 2) in one of the carriages. The carriages are of course compact but had all that we needed for our stay. There was an adjoining door between the 2 carriages so we could easily move between the accommodations. My bed was comfy, breakfast was plentiful and the scenery was spectacular. The pool and breakfast room were less than a 50metre walk from the carriages. There are self contained carriages - these were down the hill so a bit more of a hike up to the pool. Jenny and David are just delightful hosts and their carriages and breakfast room are entertainment in themselves! Leave your curtains and windows open at night if you can - it was a delight to see the moon and stars from bed as we retired and to be gently woken by the morning sun and sounds of country around.

We stayed as a couple for the second time. Beautiful setting, quaint & relaxing. Nice sign at door welcoming us. The only disappointing thing was the cooked breakfast which was luke warm @ the best, served on a cold plate. I feel a hot breakfast should be at least served on warm plates. Aside from that a very enjoyable stay, fabulous hosts as well.
