We were at my friends wedding here, and stayed on the Friday and Saturday Night. It was a great place for a wedding, the placce is beautiful, the staff very nice and helpful. The food was outstanding and the rooms were very clean. I would definitely recoomend this to anyone for a wedding venue.

We were at a family wedding in the castle which was amazing. We stayed on an extra night in the hotel. The standard of accommodation and facilities are excellent. I recommend anyone to stay at Achnagairn, especially if it's a large group and you can take on a whole chalet.

I really loved staying at the Castle, but here are some tips. 1. Choose castle or estate. There are 2 accommodation types here: castle and lodges, but where you go depends on which specific option you've chosen. We booked through booking.com and by booking the 'Estates' we were in fact booking a room in a lodge on the estate with shared common areas. The room price (in August) was not inexpensive, but cheaper than at the castle. If you want to stay in the castle on the same estate, you need to specifically book it. To add to the confusion, we had to check in at the castle, and were told that breakfast would be served there, but were then directed to the lodges. We were given a room called Seabreeze which oddly had a shower in the bedroom itself and which made the room feel very cramped. Most rooms and lodges seem to have different configurations, so we asked to change and ended up upgrading to a room in the castle, which was definitely worth the upgrade. We stayed in the Carpe Diem room and it was every bit as excellent as others have said. 2. Note that the Manors restaurant is not open every day. When we were there, it was closed on Mondays, so your only alternatives for lunch and dinner are in Beauly or Kirkhill, though Beauly had some nice options and was just an 8 minute drive away. Apart from the initial confusion, this was really a great place to stay and I would definitely go back. A special thanks to the staff for being helpful throughout.

Stayed recently in room named Carpe Diem, it was amazing, it has a circular whirlpool bath in the middle of the huge bathroom. It made the stay really special. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Grounds are small but lovely. My only bit of feedback is that the hot water for breakfast tea is kept in flasks which weren't that hot. The bathroom products are lovely but it would have been nice if there had been body lotion too. But thats me being picky! Its a wonderful hotel & I hope to return.
