New caretakers doing a great job in the caravan park . Everything is clean , tidy and mown . They have supplies of bait , ice , milk etc in the shop . Birds ( parrots , kookaburras etc ) looking for a treat ( take birdseed ) The Lake is beautiful and there are many places to have a BBQ or swim
Cabin was tired and lacked maintenance. Glass door wouldn’t slide open, the double bed leaned on one side, the pillows were all flat, the exhaust fan was thick with filth, the tv reception was poor. Least it had an air conditioner that worked. The caravan park needs an overhaul to bring it up to scratch. The dam and picnic areas were beautiful and well looked after by the council.
Lovely place but managed by a creep who harassed us all the time He Was drunk and very persistent the family camping next to came to my rescue but he then harassed them so they left as well won’t go there again
We needed a stop between Bundaberg and Yeppoon and couldn’t get place in 1770. LA had place (when everything else was booked) so we didn’t expect much - how wrong we were! I wish we could have stayed a while longer. Spacious sites in nature (amazing bird life) with good walks. apparently plenty of Barra to be caught in the dam. Very sorry to be leaving… it was awesome!
Great place very peaceful with great views, amenities very clean and well maintained plenty of hot water and great showers Management friendly and hospitable would visit agsin. It's always nice when group social gatherings are organised to enable socialising with other caravaners.
This caravan park is beautiful, well maintained and cared for by the very dedicated current manager, John and his team. The fishing is out of this world, bring on the curried Barra and beers! If you’re a wild life lover, this place is heaven, nature in its glory, wallabies and birds and butterflies abound. This gem needs to be kept secret 😉
We stayed down the bottom, nice area with large sites. The ammenities were relatively clean but I think they need to be checked more often as I experienced a pool of red which resembled blood in the shower, they need some maintenance as a lot if broken tiles which would harbour germs. The camp kitchen down the bottom not very clean old appliances some a little rusty. The barbecue very old and parts missing but we managed to get it going. As there is no TV service down the bottom it would have been good to be told as we could have got reception up the top. The TV in the camp kitchen wasn’t working and management wasn’t really interested. There are nice views of the lake if you pick the right spot. A great place for water sports, hiking and off road bikes. The Dump point was locked with a padlock so was unable to empty our cassette in the way out. Perhaps a sign with an explanation woukd have been good.…
We stayed in a powered site (40) which was in a great spot for privacy and away from other campers, but in was in August. Would recommend sites 33 to 36 as probably the best in the area during the hotter months, as they had trees around them.
On visiting the Dam was very impressed with the amenities and access to shaded huts for family barbecues and being able to swim in safety. Wish we had taken a picnic 🧺 as a prefect place for a nice relaxing afternoon. Pity the cafe has closed as it would have been a great lovey view. Passing the accommodation options all looked very good would definitely think about an overnight stay in the future.
