Wow, this was quite the place! An old restored farmstead with amazing views towards the Rondane peaks. The whole place felt utterly authentic, and like stepping back in time. Yet still with enough modern commodities. Big plus for cows, calves, sheep and lots of horses...More

Thank Theosof

Hotel description
Welcome to Bergseng Ranch Lodge. Bergseng Ranch Lodge can be found in the nature conservation area at Grimsdalen, between the Rondane and Dovre National Parks, and Mesetermyre Nature Reserve. It is one of fifty mountain ranches in Grimsdalen, and one of the eleven on Tollevshaugen hill, which climbs 1000 meters above sea level. Bergseng ranch has a special family-friendly outdoor area, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside including rich flora, fauna and birdlife. The area is perfect for walking and hiking and is of geological interest (being from the Quaternary period). It has a rich heritage, with a history of farming that dates back to the 1500s. We have newly-renovated cabins to rent, from 22 to 40 square meters, accommodating between 4 and 11 guests. Open: 15.06 to 15.10, preferably renting on a weekly basis. During quieter times, typically 15.08 to 20.09, we are happy to rent out for shorter periods, such as for the weekend. Facilities: Well equipped for self catering with kitchen, gas stove, oven or fireplace, water and drainage, 12V solar and wind powered lights, duvets and pillows. Please bring your own bed linen. Shared facilities: laundry room, WC and shower with gas-heated water. Outdoor areas: excellent outdoor family areas, with tables, benches and equipment for cooking and grilling. Hiking: Nearby there are great areas for walking, with wildlife and cultural trails suitable for all ages. This is a good base for hiking and exploring the mountains. We can gladly advise about trips and can arrange transportation for you. Animals: Horse riding is available, as well as the opportunity to feed and take care of the animals. Hunting: It is possible to hunt for small game and wild reindeer (by arrangement). Fishing: Trout fishing is good in the Gimse River and surrounding streams. We sell fishing licenses. Bathing: The river is perfect for a refreshing dip and we also have hot tub. Heritage: Explore the area’s rich history and traditions.
