Very friendly owners, typical Tuscan hotel with fabulous views. We found this to be a great location for our short stay, visiting Sienna, San Gimignano and perfect for a couple of trips to Lajatico and La Sterza. It is situated close to the city gates, with a 5 -10 minute walk to the centre which could be a steep climb... More

Loved this quaint hotel. Gentleman on front desk was so friendly. Rooms clean, linens were good, a/c worked well, parking included, breakfast was nice on small patio behind hotel. The best part is that you walk across the street to enter walls of Volterra. This is a simple older hotel, it had free wifi and small tv but no frills.... More

This hotel is a converted old world villa. As such, you won't find all the modern amenities beyond wi-fi. That's okay. You'll get a little old world charm. The owners are exceptionally nice and the breakfast is great. Our GPS couldn't find the location so it was a bit of a struggle to find the place. And it is outside... More

My husband and i recently stayed here. The owner Antonela was very nice and informative. This place is a short walk to the city walls. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They had a nice breakfast. We had to leave early after 3 days of stay in Volterra and Antonela offered to prepare a pot of coffee... More

Three friends & I stayed at this hotel while touring some of the Tuscan hill towns & thoroughly enjoyed it. Rooms were very clean, each with private bath. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful with fresh fruit, variety of pastries, yogurt, cereal, ham, salami, prosciutto .Hostess/owner was delightful. When one of us received a text from bank regarding a fraud alert... More

I plan to stay here every time I visit Volterra -- it is right next to the city walls but is within a garden, which is a welcome respite from the city... the rooms are high-ceilinged, tall shuttered windows, beautiful tall old wooden doors, and with all modern conveniences (free wi-fi, fridge hidden within a cabinet, TV) while retaining a... We stayed here in 2013 and enjoyed every minute. The hotel was located in the best part of town. The managers were so sweet and welcomed us in Italian style. The breakfast was perfect with great coffee. The hotel- which was a home at one time I am sure, was beautiful. We think of our time at this lovely place... More

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights at the Villa Porta all'Arco. We had a very good experience! Our room was nice and the private bathroom was attached. The A/C worked great and the WiFi was free. We had fantastic weather and were able to open the windows in the room and enjoy the cool breeze, which was nice.... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Villa in May 2015. The Villa is very close to the sights of Volterra so everything is within walking distance although the road in front of the Villa is rather busy. The hosts are very friendly and have a very nice breakfast in the morning with delicious pastries and melon with prosciotto. However, breakfast... More
