The outside is like a beautiful wedding cake and the inside is restored beauty. I adored this hotel! Every floor is decorated differently. Floor two was Art Deco and our room was like stepping into the boudoir of a movie star. Luxurious cream satin everywhere with black gloss furniture and a pop of leopard chairs. Tall double french doors to...

We stayed at this hotel for four nights in September and we loved every minute of our stay. Our room was on the 4th floor and it had two small balcony's and a grand updated marble bathroom. The hotel is Art Deco style updated with all modern comforts. The front desk staff is great and Laura the front desk supervisor...

The hotel seemed to be great on arrival but you soon realise that it is not! The staff are very pretentious and snobby and the whole place lacks any warmth or empathy. To go to the beach it will cost you 65E extra on top of an expensive room and dont try and go for a swim without paying as...

This is a very expensive hotel. The rooms are not particularly large. The pool area on the roof is good, and is worth using to avoid having to spend the €65 every day for the beach club which is not particulalry anything special. The staff were generally very helpful and recommended some great restaurants, but they were not very aware...

this hotel, although pretty doesnt quite measure up to the star rating nor the cost. After staying for a week at the Westin Excelsior in Florence where the stay was outstanding from location, to service, to concierge and bartender firendliness, my wife and I (plus another couple) stayed at this hotel for her 40th bday and our 10 year anniversary....

From the moment we entered the hotel we felt that we'd made the right choice! We had a sea view room on the second floor with a balcony (room 214). The room had everything we needed and was spacious and comfortable. There was even a pillow menu. I've never stayed in a hotel before where you can choose your pillow...

We spent there three nights during our trip around Italy. This was one of four hotels we chose for our trip and absolutely the best one. The room was very clean and spacious. They made it up at least twice a day. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It looks like the every little detail of your expereince in...

Room, hotel, all of it was beautiful. Great amenities especially the pool view. However, do not eat at the hotel. The dinner and service was mediocre and the same view was felt by the rest of the people on my tour.

I just spent a week with my 3 kids (9, 8 and 5) at the Pricipe di Piedmonte. Given it was low season it felt like we had the hotel to ourselves. We originally booked two adjacent rooms to fit the 5 of us (one room with two beds and the other with three), when we arrived Laura at the...

How can anyone not fall in love with this hotel? The sea views from our 4th floor window were everything you could hope for. The room itself was beautiful in its design, although if you are used to more modern hotels it may have felt a little small. The reception staff could not have been more helpful and charming from...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This storied luxury hotel on the seafront promenade in Viareggio is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Built in the early 1920s, restored to the height of its charm in 2004 after 19 months' refurbishment work, today the Principe is without doubt one of the world's most exclusive and refined historical hotels. The 106 rooms, including 19 suites, on five floors decorated in different styles, represent an ideal cross-section of elegant hospitality over the ages, through to the contemporary design of the sun-drenched rooftop swimming pool. The "Piccolo Principe" and "Regina" restaurants have also made their own contribution to the renown built up over the years by the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in Viareggio. The Two-starred Michel restaurant "Piccolo Principe" offers sophisticated cuisine against the magnificent backdrop of the panoramic roof garden, where guests dine in summer, while the "Regina" restaurant offers traditional Tuscan fare. ... more   less
