We wanted to visit some of the hill towns of Umbria and Todi had been recommended. We stumbled upon Villa Luisa in our search of Trip Advisor and because my wife is named Luisa we wanted to check it out. Very happy we did! It's a little gem of a place on the hillside to the drive to enter the...

This is a family run hotel, tucked away on the outskirts of the lovely medieval town of Todi,Umbria. The gardens are magical, and the pool is private and never crowded. An added bonus is the restaurant, where the food is amazing and the service is superb. We were seated on the terrace, which is overlooking the most fantastic countryside of...

Villa Luisa is a modern, medium sized hotel set in beautiful gardens with a nice pool area and fantastic views from the terrace over the Umbrian countryside. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and always smiling. We booked a four-bed room which was a good size with air con and nice sized walk-in cupboard. It was very clean. Breakfast...

We stayed during low season (March), and the prices are similar to those in Agriturismos, with spacious and clean rooms, free internet and friendly staff. Breakfast is included, but it is nothing special. The hotel is outside the old city, but still in a good location. Overall, it is a very good value for your money!

Reception (lady) was very welcoming, helpful and always smiling, which gave us first good impression right upon our arrival... Our room was large enough for 3, well refurbished and a bath room was modern and clean. Probably the best advantages of the hotel are a nice green park and a relaxing swimming pool in summer time. It's about 15 or...

Very clean, on site parking, helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast eaten on the terrace. Within easy reach of central Todi, an uphill walk but no problem for anyone used to somewhere like Sheffield. Room a little small and only rooms on one side have a good view but well equipped.

We recently travelled to Villa Luisa in Todi Umbria with our kids aged 9 and 11. We were in a large but dated ground floor room with garden view. The room was clean but furnishings and appliances quite basic. We had plenty of space to spread out with nice sized bathroom but snug but serviceable stand-up shower without bath. The...

Dear Sir, we thank you for yours kind words, for the compliments towards breakfast, location, parking, garden and good value. We are very sorry for your disappointment about Wi-Fi access, sometimes when the hotel is full we could have some troubles. We offer a free Wi-Fi in all our hotel, garden and terrace but we will try to offer a...

We stayed at Villa Luisa two nights. It was clean, modern and well-run. We had free Wi-Fi in our room. The family that runs the hotel was very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast is not extensive, but it was adequate. Since we had to catch an early train, we requested breakfast one hour before breakfast is usually served, and our...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Villa Luisa offer you a stay in Umbria in the middle Italy. We are located in the old medieval town of Todi, an unspoiled oasis right in the heart of Umbria, in a splendid context of gentle hills and old castles, where you can relax, enjoy art, and of course enjoy the superb Umbrian traditional cuisine. The Hotel Villa Luisa is a modern three star hotel run by Castrichini family for the last twenty years, it has been recently refurbished. Once it was a private villa standing in its carefully maintained extensive gardens in a tranquil position, with a swimming pool and relaxing areas, private car parking and garage. With careful planning we have now transformed it and created a structure which comprises 39 bedrooms en-suite (complete with telephone, Satellite TV, mini bar, safe, air conditioning and wi-fi connection), a spacious hall with lounges and bar and a free internet facility. We can offer our guests a spacious breakfast room which leads onto a beautiful terrace with the breathtaking view of the valley below where, during the appropriate season, one can have a morning breakfast or enjoy a drink during the day admiring the far away hills. In our restaurant we suggest a cuisine of the old Umbrian tradition, some dishes have been slightly changed to better satisfy new taste requirements in step with modern times. The guests can relax alone or in couple, in total privacy, into our Private Spa Room with a sauna/hammam, a jacuzzi or by a massage treatment thanks to the expert hands of a masseuse or finish the relaxing moment on one of our chaise longues, just try on of the many kinds of tea, which are provided for them. Todi's Historic Centre, with a wealth of monuments and churches, is only at a short walking distance from the hotel (30 minutes)or can also be reached by bus which stops just outside the hotel's main gate. On the outskirts of Todi, a lush countryside can be found, with the slow flow of the river Tiber between cottages, hamlets, villages and castles typical of this area. Visiting Umbria, Todi makes an ideal starting point because in a radius of 30 to 40 Km. One can find cities full of art and fantastic architecture such as Assisi, Perugia, Spoleto, Orvieto, Gubbio (80 Km.), Or places of natural beauty such as Cascate delle Marmore (Europe's highest water fall), the Fonti del Cliturno and the Transimeno lake (60Km). Thanks to a mild climate for most of the year, nature offers a myriad of colours and scents, which makes a picture frame to this wonderful landscape. ... more   less
