I was blown away by the beauty of this location. We holidayed with a large group of friends and this castle was simply divine. The beautiful mountainous surroundings and the peaceful pool area gave us a great opportunity to relax and enjoy. The food and wine in the restaurant was of very high quality and our accomodation was fabulous. The...

The place is truly magical. We stayed 1 night beginning of November & were the only ones (which made it even more special). The castle from 12ve century is in the middle of beautiful countryside with several medieval towns around it (Tody, Orvietto, Spoleto). The castle has a little church also from 12ve century I think. It was closed but...

Steeped in history, and with a superb location, we loved our two-day stay here in the Umbrian countryside. The castle, surrounded by its small village ('burgo') is impressive and provides, as you'd expect from military architecture, terrific views. We were welcomed by Ginevra, the Marchesa, whose family have owned the castle for the last 500 years or so - check...

The castello we stayed with near Amelia had beautiful buildings, the swimming pool is a good size and our room was comfortable and stylish. It also had really good service; the owner up graded us to a larger room, her staff man carried our bags to and from the car, we had a great dinner on the castle terrace; the...

My husband and I are on a driving tour of Italy and France. We did not want to go to places with too many tourists as we had just come from Venice where they were shoulder to shoulder. This place is magical. Your hostess is the most delightful, elegant and cultured lady you will ever meet. It is so beautiful...

We booked 4 nights in the Blu suite which was tastefully decorated, spacious, very clean with a lovely yellow tiled bathroom with bathtub. This is a great place to relax around the pool and rest in the peace and quiet of the Umbrian countryside. Lovely room and nice pool. Friendly and helpful host/owner who speaks excellent English. Sismano is a tiny place having instructions on how to get there from the host is essential!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Castle - this time with our son and daughter-in-law. While the Castle is a little hard to find, it is definitely worth it when you arrive. It is a genuine medieval castle - like stepping back in time. The views are amazing, it is surrounded by nature and it is...

We spent three nights in the Castle, at the recommendation of a friend who clearly understood what we were looking for - THIS is Italy!! Leave Rome and Florence behind and head for the hills. It was so very relaxing and restful, and plenty of tourist spots within a reasonable drive (Assisi just an hour away, Spoleto less than that,...

My husband and I host photography workshops around the world and we recently had an incredible experience of hosting a 6 days/5 nights all-inclusive workshop at Castello di Sismano. Our Italian workshop coordinators, Max Brunelli and Cris Chiacchierini, https://www.facebook.com/maxbrunelli, did an amazing job finding the perfect location for our workshop and our excursions. From the moment we arrived, everyone at...
