An ancient monastery has been transformed into an hotel of great charm and distinction. The interior decoration is carefully restrained and in total sympathy with the previous life of the building. The excellent restaurant which is in a fabulous barrel vaulted room, was so good we ate there twice, not something we would normally do. The staff could not do...

The San Giovanni Hotel exemplifies everything we look for in a European hotel. It blends history, uniqueness & charm with casual luxury in the most grandiose setting. The location in Saluzzo could not be better and this is one of the few hotels we've stayed where the accommodations themselves are an actual attraction. For us it was the #1 attraction...

Stayed here for one night while driving around. Loved the suite with the most incredible view and a romantic setting. The staff were very friendly and drinks in the courtyard were nice. Enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant very much too. Will definitely come back... Wanted to mention we got abused verbally by a lady that obviously was a local...

We booked at the San Giovanni Resort after noting that it had an excellent rating in our 2014 Michelin Red Guide. It was only later, when we got a new copy and discovered that, not only had San Giovanni lost its good rating, it wasn’t there at all in the Saluzzo listings. That made us wonder if we’d made the...

My wife and I came to Saluzzo for a nearby birthday celebration. This was our first Italian trip and we are more accustomed to Asian services and standard of hotels as we live in Singapore. The road access to the hotel with the GPS support was interesting as one would not expect going through narrow medieval roads, the only way...

My wife and I alone with a group of cyclists had a wonderful stay in this converted Monastery. Beautiful views from large and tastefully decorated rooms- very old and charming vibe but with up-to-date bathroom amenities! Functional casement windows open up onto beautiful city-scaape with birds soaring by. Delicious European breakfast with juices and espresso and cappuccino each morning. Excellent...

We were visiting the wonderful town of Saluzzo, which is like the stage set of a medieval play. We came across this hotel for coffee and were entranced. It is set on the side of a cloister and around this are the equivalent of a number of museums complete with incredible wall paintings. I fully expected a monk to appear...

Very nice, comfortable rooms set in ancient building. Cool views overlooking valley and town. Good food and very convenient with nice cobblestone streets to walk around. Stayed here a couple times for business - good conference room set ups. Light traditional European breakfast set up (no hot meals).

It is an enchanted boutique hotel. On the hills of a medieval town this hotel is a TEN!!! Impeccable service. Spacious and elegant rooms created in this magnificent ex monastery. What can I say? I didn't want to leave the San Giovanni Resort and I will be back as soon as possible.

Located in a fabulous converted medieval monastery in the town of Saluzzo near Monte Viso. Many original features remain or have been restored. The hotel and surrounding buildings are a tourist attraction. Carparking available free in front of hotel, but is limited. Was no problem getting a space when we visited. Access the hotel is via the old town. Ask...
