Having booked everything individually for a family of 6 I was nervous as usually we go package skiing. I can confirm this is one of the best choice of hotels I have picked in a long time.
A warm welcome awaited us, besides the initial fears everyone had of how do we get suitcases up a mountain, we got our passes from the ticket office and the lift staff bundled us on and our suitcases followed us in the seats behind.
All hotel staff (not just Dawn who was excellent at arranging everything) were super friendly and helpful especially with the 5 year old in our family.
Location is obviously the best I have ever stayed being up the mountain with immediate access to the middle tier of lifts makes for superb skiing from 9 till ski lift close, which we rarely did when staying in other resorts in the villages at the bottom.
The ski school is literally a 30 meter walk or so from the hotel with the nursery slope just 50 meters or so, ideal if you're learning like our 5 year old.
Food was extremely good each evening, freshly made and tasty, if there is one criticism it was that the portions were sometimes very large, which lets face it is a nice criticism to have! Maybe get the next size ski trousers for end of the week.
Rooms are modern, comfortable and very warm in the evenings, and the shower was superb also.
All in all a great stay here and I can see why other guest are reluctant to write a review as its such a great place to stay they may want to keep it as quiets as possible, book early we did as apparently it is booked up well in advance.

Located up on the mountain in Sportinia, Orso Bianco is the most popular restaurant/ bar making it the natural meeting place. There is also a direct chair lift from the village for those that just want to hang out up here.

Most important, Food is great and service is fast!

Dawn & Simone have created the most wonderful mountain retreat for guests. We have spent 4 of the last 5 Christmas holidays here (Covid putting a spanner in the works one year).

Each year we see people who are returning guests, so it often feels like a bit of a reunion of people who have come to enjoy the same sort of Christmas as us and just goes to show how much they love it here.

The team are incredibly friendly, and full of positivity and energy.

Rooms are cosy, comfortable, clean and contemporary (all the C;'s), but the restaurant and bar area feel particularly special. Thoughtfully designed, fun and none of the pretentiousness that can be associated with ski resorts.

Speaking of skiing, the location is second to none. Essentially ski-in/ski-out, with an onsite ski rental shop and deposit means that you get to experience the most of your ski/snowboard time with the least amount of faff. Ski schools meet just outside the hotel too, 10am every morning.

Food and drink are an absolute winner. Cracking breakfast every day, and the evening meals, with no word of exaggeration, offer some of the best food we have all year. Classic Italian fare with modern international flourishes. Dawn and Simone are passionate about their food and travel, and their love of international cuisine comes through.

Incredible selection of wine, and some deliciously punchy cocktails (kudos to Matty, resident cool dude and bartender). Coffee-infused Negroni topped with grated Cacoa was this year's festive treat for me.

Looking forward to returning again next year!

The hotel is 2/3 of the way up the mountain. Accessible by chairlift or skidoo. Every member of staff has a smile on their face every time they see you. They are fully part of the small family of the hotel. The food and wine at dinner and breakfast are brilliant.
The rooms are well equipped with warmth, hot shower and hairdryer.
The hotel has its own boot/drying room. It has two residents only sofa areas, one with a tv. The room tv’s show English channels.
We really loved our time there and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
A massive thank you to Dawn, Simonie and the whole team. You made our holiday very special

Fabulous location, lovely hosts and friendly staff. Great food and real family feel to this place. We can see why people have been coming back for years and years…. Staying up the mountain has so many benefits, yes rooms are small, but immaculate, warm and cosy. We had a brilliant time. Having the place to yourselves after everything leaves the slopes…. perfect. Sledging, star gazing and first tracks, what more could you want?

An absolute gem of a ski hotel, superb location for ski in and ski out. All staff and team couldn't do enough for you. We were a group of fifteen and not one complaint. Food varied and excellent, comfortable beds , clean rooms with good facilities. Bar buzzing during the day quieter at night when the slopes empty.

I stayed at Orso Bianco for a weeks skiing holiday with 9 friends. My friends and most of the guests in the hotel are repeat customers who come year after year. That says it all really. The location half way up the piste means you can ski in and out. It also means its fantastically quiet at night. It's great for kids who can sledge once piste has closed. The food is Italian, well cooked with good daily choices and I loved it all. The rooms are cosy, comfortable and tastefully done, ours had a balcony. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. If you are lucky enough to get a room here it's also excellent value for money.

A great little hotel based up the mountain in Sportinia. Access is via the chairlift so check the weather forecast in advance. Great location with ski in ski out and the food is excellent. Rooms are basic but clean, regular towel changes and plenty of hot water for a shower after a days skiing. We liked it so much we are going back in March.
