Detailed Reviews
Stopped by here for a few nights in February and found it a pleasant, old fashioned Italian hotel at a good price.
Now, if you know what I mean by that, crack on. If not, by that I mean it’s clean, warm and pleasant enough. The decor and furniture are somewhat dated but absolutely fine, and the small tv works perfectly.
As with every single other hotel in Italy I’d put in this bracket, where things get somewhat interesting is the bathroom. It’s not bad by any stretch. Similarly aged yet workable, though frustrations do emerge in the form of the shower. The pressure and temperature are ok, but it’s tiny. If you’re 6ft tall expect to batter your elbows and get stuck to the shower curtain.
The staff were all friendly and easy to deal with, there is a vending machine available at all times, and while breakfast is offered I was never up in time for it so can’t comment.
Location is good, basically around the corner from the main square and around 20 min from the train station.
If you want luxury, go elsewhere, but id you’re good with a basic, traditional Italian hotel it’s absolutely fine

Central, friendly and helpful staff, right in the historic center. Not exactly excellent cleanliness but with a good dose of patience you can get over it. Heartfelt advice... for Carità di Patria, remove the 80's spatula from the walls.

Quick visit for concert locally. Hotel very small and could do with a bit of decorating but, all in all, very good value for money. Position could not have been better for shops and theatres. The staff were lovely, very helpful and charming. The room was a fair size, could have done with some decorating but clean. The bathroom was tiny as was the shower but the shower had very good pressure and served its purpose.
Before going I checked out the hotel on Tripadvisor and saw a review about the hotel smelling of stale tobacco and smoke. Being non smokers the review really put me off and I even considered cancelling so was delighted to find that this was definitely not the case.

On the occasion of the CCCP exhibition, we stayed in this hotel which turned out to be perfect for us: we were able to park the motorbike right in front of the hotel, it is in a restricted traffic zone but you can enter without problems with license plate registration.
Excellent quality/price ratio: of course, the rooms are simple with a dated bathroom, but clean and comfortable, the mattress even had a topper and for a 2-star hotel it is above average, especially due to its proximity to the center (despite being quiet and in quiet area)
The breakfast service is no longer provided, but this is not a problem, as there are many places where you can have it just a few meters away.
Extremely kind and professional staff, we will certainly remain faithful to the next occasion!

Extremely dated hotel, with very old and obsolete systems, fittings and furnishings. I would say we are well beyond "vintage". The common spaces are quite narrow and roughly organised. The room we were assigned had a bathroom. The electrical systems seemed very dated to us, with visible wires on the wall arranged in the old fashioned way. The water for the shower took a long time to heat up, the fixtures and the shower cubicle in the bathroom are very old and the taps are visibly old and damaged. All the finishings of the room are done in an unprofessional way, certainly not suitable for an accommodation facility (of any category). The soundproofing between the rooms is practically non-existent. The only positive aspect is the good level of cleanliness.
It offers the services of a 2 star, breakfast is not provided, it has a lift and concierge service until midnight. It is easily reachable on foot or by taxi from the station, although it is perhaps less convenient for those traveling by car.
Overall, I consider the offer of this hotel not in line with 2024 standards and I do not feel like recommending it to anyone, not even to those with a low budget. I think that for the same prices it is preferable to go to a B&B or at least a hostel. A not irrelevant note concerns the rate that was applied to us: 360 Euros per night (VAT included), it was a "special" rate on the occasion of a concert and unfortunately we were unable to find better alternatives in the area. I can understand a hotelier's interest in exploiting such events to make money, but it cannot be done at the customer's expense and I believe it really takes "great courage" to apply such a rate with a structure in the conditions in which it is which Ariosto pours. It is hoped that the Management will intelligently use the increased income deriving from the events to carry out structural interventions and improve the quality of the service.

+1
Definitely never again!
- Booked a room for 4 people, got a room for 2 people with 2 small extra beds (10m²)
- Rooms not cleaned, dead hair on the floor
- Air conditioning is a small fan / 35° at night,
sleeping is impossible
- Shower head sprays in all corners, hence probably the mold everywhere in the bathroom
- 230V lamp with open wires directly above the shower, which is not fused.... Dangerous to life!
- Concierge only speaks Italian / complaints are only dismissed with “Mi Scusi”.
- Toilet right by the window with no privacy screen, who doesn't want that?
No refund possible - we still left a day early.

Not recommended, after having booked a room for four people 20 days before and having confirmed three days before arrival. They left me without a room and my friends and I had to find a makeshift solution because the hotels were all full. Rude, unreliable and incompetent staff. The hotel does not have the characteristics to be called such, it is an old hotel in the center of Reggio Emilia, difficult to reach by car, without parking. The rooms are outdated and not very clean.

This is a very basic 2-star hotel which gives excellent value for money. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are basic, but comfortable. The staff are efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the location is good and I can't see that you could get better value for money anywhere else in Reggio Emilia. We would definitely stay there again.

Is this the worst hotel in Reggio Emilia? The smell of stale tobacco hits you as soon as you walk into reception. Reception opens on to the breakfast area so I decided to give the food a wide berth. I just didn't fancy cereal infused with nicotine. My bedroom smelt of cigarette smoke too. I defy the most lung-hardened smoker to enjoy it. However, the worst was to come because the bathroom stank of sewage. Don't stay here.

The beauty of this place is in his position and nearby
The rest is poor or average
The size of the rooms is ridiculously tiny.
Either the furniture and the doors are so old that in just five or ten years will become antiques; so please hold on dear host: you are destined to success!
