Hotel's Favourite
The Hotel Posta began it's life in the early 14th C as the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo a kind of "city hall". It was succeeded by a newer palazzo and has been accepting guests in some form or another for over 5 centuries. Well located just around the corner from the Duomo in the peaceful pedestrianized Centro Storic, my room was lovely , the prima colazione excellent and I had the opportunity to sit down over a cup of coffe and chat with Umberto Sidoli the manager. His family has been running Hotel Posta since the 1930's. It is the longest in continuous operation lodging place in the World, 500 years

Dear Victoria, I am very happy to thank you for your lovely description of myself and my family. As you have written this is probably the oldest hotel of italy always in activity. it has never been closed for over 500 years and we continue this tradition for over 4 generation. thank you and hope to meet you once again in future. best regards, Umberto sidoli

Well located. Right in the old part of city. Hotel with 500 years of history. We had an attic suite on the 5th floor. Spacy, two separate rooms. No noise from outside and no noise from outside. Very good. A bit old fashioned style. Beds were hard but it seems it’s everywhere in Italy unfortunately. Hallways are impressive and the service is attentive. Breakfast was organised the way you can not touch anything. But unfortunately the variety of breakfast was small. Nothing extra, only very basic items available. I was a bit disappointed because I expected more from this kind of hotel.
But overall, good hotel with good service. 4 star.

Hello. thank you for your review. Happy to know that you have enjoyed our property. as regard breakfast, Actually we still offer a service for covid "security" where people can't touch nothing. It is our Philosophy and I am sure it is more safe until when the covid will end. we are working on variety to offer and we will do something in the next months. hope to welcome you again to experience again our property. Grazie. Umberto Sidoli

We stayed in the annex of the Hotel Posta, i.e. the Hotel Reggio which is a stone's throw from the main office. The room was practically a mini accommodation: large, very well lit, with useful power sockets everywhere, comfortable places to put clothes and trolleys, and a nice desk. The room was on the third floor (with elevator), therefore very airy - perhaps the rooms on the lower floors are a little more closed because the hotel is an alley. The quality-price ratio is excellent (almost incredible!), and the two receptionists, Stefania and Federica, are very kind and very professional. Furthermore, the hotel is in the center of Reggio, ideal for visiting the city on foot. Highly recommended!!

Avoid this place unless you like being insulted and defamed by incompetent management. The hotel location is great but that's as good as it gets. The rooms look like they haven't been decorated since the Allies last liberated this place. Room was very noisy too. Breakfast is really average and staff are surly and rude. We were in the best suite they have and it was shockingly bad so heaven help you if you are in one of their normal rooms. I imagine that, since this review is critical, there will soon be a totally false and defamatory management response beneath it. I almost feel sorry for them because they will likely be out of business soon since very few people will be travelling to this region right now.

I'm not used to reviews, but this hotel definitely deserves an exception!
The valuable location possesses an extraordinary charm that makes the stay a journey into the journey!
The staff is commendable: from the thoughtful and helpful welcome to the attention; from the diligent availability to the thorough cleaning.
Sincere congratulations to all the staff and owners for the careful choices both in the restoration and maintenance of the structure, and in the attention to detail that really make the difference!

Very convenient because it is located right in the city center, next to Piazza Duomo, in the building of 500 that was the home of the Captain of the People. private parking at a low cost, great rooms, bathroom, bed and very quiet. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

Hotel with a unique charm. Sleeping in a hotel inaugurated in 1515 is like sleeping in a museum. All without giving up modern conveniences. The rooms (each different from the other) are large and comfortable. The rooms are very clean and the bed very comfortable. The rich and varied breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff

I have been traveling for more than 20 years for work and pleasure so I have stayed in many hotels but I must say that Hotel Posta has proven to be one of the best overall in terms of quality/price ratio. Nice, clean, very central location, excellent and very competent staff, excellent breakfast. Perfect stay, will return as soon as possible. Highly recommended

We were served in the bar by David, who not only makes a great cocktail, but went out of his way to provide great service. He gave great restaurant recommendations, and showed us the special meeting room. The hotel and it's history is fantastic, and David's service capped off a great stay.

Beautiful hotel in the center of Reggio Emilia. Inside the captain's palace from the 1200s, it has been a hotel since 1515. An atmosphere of times gone by, the rooms are very sumptuous and scenographic. Exceptional location for visiting Reggio. Nice rooms perhaps, the bathrooms need some updating. Small flaw in the breakfast, I would have expected it to be more "lavish", given the location. Recommended for a few days holiday.

hello. We don't have any wheelchair. Sorry.
Umberto sidoli
Hello. we can certainly provide a cot or a rollaway bed. there is no cost to provide a cot until 3 years old childrens. we can provide you a standard room or a superior or a junior suite and we can fit it without problems. standard rooms are less big and a cot can be less confortable for the space of the room but at your convenience you can decide what you prefer.
best regards,
Umberto Sidoli
We stayed in a deluxe room. I don't think you will have any cause for complaint. Enjoy
Dear Lisa, yes you can park the car in our parking lot! there is an extra charge per night of euro 12,00. we are in the pedestrian area but all our guests are authorized to drive in and out every time they want and we only must register the car at the time of check in. best regards, Umberto Sidoli
