Our 3-day stay was part of a Travelbird arrangement which included an excursion, a diner and wellness facilities (e.g. sauna, massage, Turkish bath). Despite the advertisement, the wellness facilities were closed for the summer, we were told. Instead we received tickets for the large and guarded swimmingpool situated at the adjacent golf-course. No hotel bar, although the receptionist acts also as selling point, so for drinks we walked to the adjacent golf bar. Nice short walk along the golf. The room was huge, comfortable and quiet, but there are no dining facilities in the hotel. Dining facilities at the golf are rather expensive. The breakfast was good enough. Since a diner was part of our arrangement, we received a ticket for a restaurant at some distance, which was not bad at all. The hotel is quite large, with several wings but at this time of the year (early June) not very crowded. The gardens were beautifully designed but not well kept and dirty. The parking garage is situated in the basement of the building. Be aware of the steep entrance lawn which might damage the front of your sportscar. From the garage easy access to the reception and rooms with elevators. Great for golf enthousiasts. Modena and Parma are the nearest cities.
We discovered a huge and excellent pizza restaurant in the neighbourhood, crowded with Italian families.

We stayed here with another couple 3 days in June. We were the only guests at the beginning. A day later another group of around 25 people arrived, apparently by bus as our 2 cars were the only guest cars in the underground parking lot! Nevertheless reception gave us rooms on the entrance and when I asked for a room with a view there was a lot of looking into the computer and phoning with the manager who was of course not in the hotel. So we ended up with 2 junior suites with a view towards the golf course, but paying the full mark-up. When I asked for a deal on the mark up, the director refused. What an idiot, he did not grasp the opportunity to promote his hotel.
WE WERE THE ONLY GUESTS IN THE HOTEL! He should have personally greeted us and kissed our feet. Nearly all positive ratings come from Italian travellers, which shows that this hotel urgently needs international exposure, that Italian travellers are easy to please since they apparently don't know what's going on in the non-Italian hospitality industry nowadays.
But what this hotel needs above all is an active and interested management.
This hotel was certainly quite nice at the beginning but is now left to a slow but certain decay. No upkeep, hardly working A.C., not enough personnel, e.g. breakfast eggs available only on the first day, the smallest flat panel tv money? could possibly buy, everything on the lowest possible level. Even the toilet paper was so flimsy you could read the news paper thru.
The colours and coatings came off at every second corner and outside wall of the house and this was certainly not due to the recent quakes. Apparently they do not have the money to pay for upkeep or worse, they don't care. I think they're heading towards bankruptcy, and rightfully so, and I can only hope that an international group picks up the remains.
On the positive side, there was complimentary internet access in the room, the people from the golf club were of outstanding friendliness, the greenfees unbeatable and the golf restaurant excellent. 5 stars for the golf part and 1 star for the hotel add up to not more than 2 for the resort. And since management wasn't interested when we stayed in the hotel, there is no need to comment here.
Stay away, not worth the money.

You know you are staying in a hotel that has heating problems when staff are dressed for a blizzard. Despite what this hotel advertises, it has no restaurant or any facilities to provide food in evenings. This is more of a necessity when rurally located. Breakfast in the mornings was cold because like the heating, the food hot plate was defunct. I felt like I was inconvenience when making basic requests, such as booking a taxi. We were told that due to no food being available, we could dine at the hotel's sister hotel which is 3km away. Of course by 3km they meant 18km. The taxis cost 30 euros each way when we could have dined somewhere much closer. This is an establishment which is in complete denial and needs urgent attention if it wants to be successful.
