We booked this as in Novemeber there were fewer hotels available and it seemed to be well located. It is not an expensive hotel so we booked the top floor suite and all I can say is that the view over to ragusa Ibla was worth every euro and more! OK, there are downsides (as others have said) but the... More

My wife & arrived by train from Agrigento ( a combined bus & train journey) & Ciro, the manager, greeted us with a warm welcome & engaging smile. He was also an excellent source of information on all things Sicilian & offered useful guidance for our stay in Ragusa & further travels on the island. The room was quite big... More

We arrived at this hotel in the middle of the parish feast with all the obvious roads blocked or diverted but it was worth all the effort. The Dimora is located within walking distance of Ibla, just take the Strada Scale stairs. Our room / bathroom were of a very good standard and the receptionists extremely helpful. There is a... Really nice B&B, we had room 101 which is located at ground level (own frontdoor). I believe this is the best location you can book in Ragusa (between ragusa superior and ragusa ibla) easy to walk to both highlights. Desk lady was very friendly and helped us to find a parking spot. Room is big, good fridge, very nice bathroom... More

The hotel itself is a beautiful old stone building. The room was light and clean. The bathroom was really nice! It is located right by via Scala, which leads to Ragusa Ibla. The staff was helpful and serviceminded. I would stay here again!

You don't see bathrooms like this very often in Italy's mid-range hotels. You feel pampered just taking a shower there. We liked little touches, like high quality toiletries and chocolate drops left in our room, as well as a wonderful breakfast with a lot of choices including a nice selection of herbal teas. We arrived by car and didn't have... More

Our very positive report on our visit to the Vittoria Veneto in Ragusa Superior in 2015 finished with the possibility of a return visit - something we rarely do. Nevertheless we did return to Ragusa this year but chose a different hotel just for some variety. We didn't realise until after our arrival that the Dimora di Piazzi Carmine is... More

Small hotel on the edge of Ragusa Ibla and convenient for walking down to the old town. The room was modern, clean lines and with a good aircon system and TV. The bathroom was excellent with a good drench shower. The downsides were lack of coffee or tea making facilities and fridge and the bedside table was missing on one... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"La Dimora di Piazza Carmine" is situated in the charming old part of Ragusa, Baroque's heart and UNESCO's patrimony. The nineenth-century building was the former seat of the "Barn of the Modica's County" and it is located in the graceful Piazza Carmine. Here the time is marked by the bell tower of the old Sanctuary in front of the hotel. The modernity of the interior design and its baroque architecture represent a perfect alliance, and they make the hotel pleasant and original. The attention in the choice to every detail gives to all rooms an high level of comfort for our guests, who will experience a very emotional journey to discover the beautiful places of Sicily. The strong point of "La Dimora di Piazza Carmine" is certainly its fantastic terrace which offers a striking view of Ragusa Ibla, where guests will have the opportunity to taste the delicious breakfast based on authentic Sicilian specialties. ... more   less
