Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our stay started with an incredibly helpful and friendly staff that unexpectedly met us at the top of the stairs to help bring our bags down to the hotel. Our room was big and clean and had the perfect view over Positano and the sea. The view was truly spectacular and made it so even if you wanted to stay in your room or on your balcony you were still able to experience Positano's beauty. Breakfast was a great way to get the morning going and everything in town was walkable (a lot of stairs of course) and fairly easy to get to anything within a short walk. Plenty of great restaurants at the top of the road as well if you don't want to walk to the other side of town. Also this hotel was located in a much quieter part of town and allowed us to miss out on some of the larger tourist crowds that were in the central part of town.

Loved everything about this small boutique hotel (8 rooms only). The views from our room with terrace were stunning. Super comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. Close to restaurants and the beach - 260 steps down to the beach but you get used to it. Great breakfast included and absolutely fantastic friendly staff who were really helpul with sharing information and organising taxi/private car pickups.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Dimora Fornillo. From the start communications we’re prompt and helpful. On arrival and throughout the stay the staff were delightful, friendly & helpful. Our room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and clean. The view is to die for! There are steps involved to and from the hotel but it’s worth it. We recommend you book here.

We had a great stay at this resort. Rooms were very nice and clean. Location was good. Staff was excellent. Staff did a great job recommending excursions, restaurants, etc. They even helped us arrange transportation and luggage porters. Would definitely go back!

We had a very nice stay at this property. I will say there are Great views and such super nice staff. Definitely a very minimalist room with not too comfy bed/bedding. Room was spacious and clean. We did not eat breakfast as the garden area was a little overgrown, and we decided to venture out instead. Again, nice & clean space - just manage expectations on comfort/ luxury.

10/10 recommend! This hotel was definitely more than 3 stars! This hotel is family-owned and the staff were amazing, the room was super spacious and clean. The views were incredible. My partner and I would watch the sunset on the balcony every night and it was magical. They serve breakfast in the mornings in their garden which has a beautiful scenery. One shout is the young gentleman helping us with our big bags, bringing them up and down the stairs during check-in and check-out. He was an amazing help as the stairs are not easy! An additional special shoutout to Andrea, he was extremely helpful in organising our private car transfers to and from Naples Airport!

We absolutely loved our stay! The view from our balcony was amazing! Pics don’t do it justice. And the staff was very kind and accommodating. I emailed them months ahead of our trip with many questions - and they were always prompt with a response. And we really loved location. It’s not in the central touristy hub - so it allows you from some breathing room. And there’s a path that goes directly to the quieter beach. Highly recommend if you are staying in Positano!

Great stay close to beach and getting around town. Great hosts and accommodating. Everywhere in Positano is a walk with few alternatives to walking up and down stairs. They have porter service for luggage which is recommended. Would not hesitate to recommend.

We had a wonderful experience at Dimora Fornillo! In Postiano there are stairs everywhere and the Dimora is no exception. We were dropped off at main road and walked down about 15 minutes and this is the main set of stairs that we went down and up each time we visited the main shopping area or restaurants. The hotel itself was lovely. We were checked in promptly, there is a small bar and bistro seating. Our room was very large and spacious, clean and had a patio with a incredible view. The air conditioning was AMAZING! The breakfast in the morning also amazing. The location is close to the beach and a short walk up to the main road. Getting a pair of sandals made is a must, such great quality! Da Vincenzo was the best meal and friendly service, worth the hype. Next2 was a beautiful fine dining meal. I personally thought that Chez Black was a scene and fun to be at but the food was terrible. I had a €48 seafood platter based on a recommendation and most of it was inedible. Fresh tuna was cooked brown. Owner was awesome though. Arienzo Beach Club was 100% worth it as well (food quality, service, location, water) all 5 star quality. We took a ferry over to Capri and the hotel arranged a baggage service for €15 a bag. Totally worth it if you are traveling to another place and there are a lot of stairs.
