I booked a superior room as I wanted a terrace with both a village and sea view. Well, I got what I wanted. Our terrace was huge, with a parasol, large day bed, a coffee table and chairs, as well as a breakfast table and chairs. It was adored by beautiful flowers, and we did have that view that I was so keen on. I spent hours watching the yachts come in; or spying on the Franco Bar below's trendy clients... One afternoon, I even elected to stay there instead of going down to the beach.
Location is key in Positano, and the Villa Rosa was high enough for views, but low enough for our legs after busy days visiting.
Our room itself was large, with 2 twins beds set up as we had requested. The Air Con worked well, and we had some desk and cupboard to place our clothes in. There was no space for our make up in the bathroom, so we had to improvise, but everything in there was functional. The beds were very confortable and I loved the room decor. On very hot days, when we came after walking around, I could sit on a comfy chair inside OR a desk and still have that beautiful view. I like that there was a safe and minifridge. I am no aware if they had room service for snacks and drinks.
Note that there is no elevator though, so be ready for steps. They are large and easy to manoeuver though.
Breakfast was good with viennoiseries, cappucino, tea, fruits, bread, jam, charcuteries and cheese. You could get more for purchase, but we were fine with the offer. I loved that it was served outside, with white linens, and that we could pick the time of service. It was always on-time for us.
Service was excellent, and always with a smile.
A lovely big breakfast was served daily to our terrace by Luca or Antonio and set up with a table cloth. The food itself was great, more than we could eat!
The staff were fabulous, especially Anna and Ersilia at the front desk in the day who assisted us make a restaurant reservation at Café Positano and to arrange an airport transfer for our departure from Naples Airport. Carmine worked the desk at night and on the morning that we planned to walk the Path of the Gods, he was kind enough to arrange our breakfast 'to go' and helped us with where the bus left from and timings.
Not only were the staff amazing during our stay, but prior to our arrival too. I really think booking directly goes a long way to building better relationships and in our case it really did. Owing to extenuating circumstances, we had to delay our holiday by a year, but the hotel and staff were accommodating and caring/ It was well worth the wait!! Shout out to Antonella and Carmela responding to emails.
The location of the hotel is ideal for all aspects of Positano. It's a short (but uphill) walk from the beach past shops. We arrived to Positano from ferry from Capri. We only had hand/cabin luggage which was manageable, anything more and I would recommend you either have the hotel arrange porter or accept the porter assistance upon arrival.
In terms of beaches, Fornillo is a better location than the more popular Spiaggia Grande which we found was generally full of Instagrammer. Fornillo is a short walk around the port under the well photographed archway. There you can hire a sunbed (between 25-30 euros) and hire kayaks from the Ristorante La Marinella (only 5 euros per hour).
The hotel itself is utterly charming, with an inviting Coastal Italian aesthetic that makes it feel warm and authentic. Our room was spotless and spacious, but the real highlight was our stunningly large terrace. Each morning and evening, we found ourselves mesmerized by the unparalleled view—Positano’s pastel-colored buildings cascading down the cliffside, the shimmering blue waters of the Amalfi coast, and the rugged beauty of the landscape. Watching the sun rise and set from the comfort of our terrace became the defining experience of our trip—an image we’ll carry with us for years to come.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcome. Special mention must go to the wonderful front desk team—Ersilia, Ana, Sara, and Antonella—who greeted us every day with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm. They went above and beyond to help with restaurant recommendations, bookings, and arranging excursions. Their local knowledge and kindness made navigating Positano so much easier, and it was clear they genuinely cared about making our stay unforgettable.
The breakfast, delivered straight to our terrace, was another highlight. Each morning we looked forward to freshly brewed cappuccinos, delicious croissants and pastries, and a variety of bread, cheese, deli meats, fresh fruit, and juices. It was the perfect start to the day, enhanced by the jaw-dropping views of the coastline.
Our stay at Villa Rosa was nothing short of perfect. The hotel not only offers stunning views and comfort but also exemplifies the warmth and hospitality that make Positano so special. For anyone looking for a picturesque, relaxing, and centrally located place to stay, I can’t recommend Villa Rosa enough. It perfectly captures the essence of Positano’s charm and beauty.

Opening the balcony doors and taking in the breathtaking view nearly brought tears to my eyes—it was stunning, and I felt so fortunate to have such a beautiful room. The hotel’s prime location made it perfect for exploring Positano. Each morning, breakfast was delivered to our room, allowing us to enjoy a delicious meal while taking in the incredible view. Since returning home, I often find myself reminiscing about these moments.
The staff at Villa Rosa were nothing short of wonderful, adding to the overall experience. This trip was particularly memorable as I got engaged to my now fiancé during our stay. I will always be grateful for our visit and cannot wait to return, hopefully in the near future.
Thank you to everyone at Villa Rosa for making our stay unforgettable!

The balcony offers sun lounges and beautiful breakfast with a view of the ocean. The breakfast is large and generous, which good coffee and friendly service.
We had to move rooms on this stay due to noise. The guest above us decided to rearrange the iron furniture which is extremely heavy for hours into the night. We also had an ant problem due to the rain which was swiftly managed by the team. Only other feedback would be as a noise sensitive guest is to ask for a corner room, the walls are incredibly thin so you can hear when people have showers, use the bathroom etc.
Thank you Villa Rosa for a pleasant stay.

Breakfast is served each morning on the balcony and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our driver was taking us to Naples early in the morning so the hotel staff accommodated us by bringing our food early so we could eat before we leave.
The view and balcony is worth every penny. Do it. Splurge a little and get an ocean view room and enjoy yourself.
