We so loved our stay at La Fenice. Our Superior room was spacious, simply furnished, with a stunning view overlooking the sea. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony just taking in the gorgeous views. Breakfasts are presented on a large tray with many tasty options while sitting on the lush, shaded terrace. What sets La Fenice apart is the caring and cheerful presence of the entire family. We were greeted by Gulio and his father, Constatino. They parked our car in their reserved lot (be sure to let them know ahead of time if you’ll need parking) and carried our heavy luggage up the 110 steps from the road to our room. La Fenice is a comfortable walk in to town. We did find Positano crowded during the day and preferred the reprieve of relaxing at La Fenice by their fabulous pool. Giacomo prepared delicious salads for lunch. As Americans we appreciated their excellent English as our Italian is extremely limited. On departure our luggage was portered down to our car. If our travels take us to Positano again I would only stay at La Fenice.

I visited this B&B in 1996 - and very happy to return. It is the most beautiful location with breathtaking views of the Amalfi coast. It is walking distance from downtown Positano, but removed from the busy, tourist filled areas - perfect location. Costintino and his family are wonderful and make you feel right at home. His sons Julio and Jacomo take care of everything - including parking your car on the crazy coastline and hauling your luggage up and down 100s of steps! The breakfast area also has amazing views, but those views are overshadowed by the awesome and delicious breakfast, including homemade jams and fresh fruit right from trees on the property. The rooms are beautiful with terraces to enjoy the sun or have a private dinner you can pick up in town. This B&B is the only hotel with it's own private beach too!

This was our 2nd visit to La Fenice. The first was 26 years ago and it lived up to our memories. The location away from crowds and the private beach are stand out features but what makes it truly special are the owners. They treated us like family, made sure we had everything we needed, offered recommendations and arranged dinner reservations at amazing locations.
We hope to return soon for a 3rd time.

We stayed at La Fenice during July 2020. The B&B offers a cosy atmosphere with a nice location and access to a small private beach - provided you are able to walk the many stairs. Rooms are rahter basic particularly given the prices.

La Fenice offers private parking at 20 Euros per day. You leave the car keys with the owners who moves the cars around in a steep and narrow drive way. That is a bad combination deemed to cause accidents. And so it went. We had the back of our rather new VW Passat St Wagon badly scratched and damaged as owners apparently lost control over the car in the steep driveway. Repair cost: Almost 2000 Euros.

The worst thing about this was actually the reaction of the owners that first tried to conceal the accident by offering to pack our car so we would not notice the back of the car. Confronted with the situation, the owner first declined responsibility, but given the obvious facts (new car as well as damages that perfectly matched incline of drive way and marks on garage) an offer to pay damages after repair was made. This lead to a long e-mail correspondance with the owners afterwards completely neglecting their responsibility and promises.

Judging from other reviews, this not the first time car accidents happen at La Fenice.

Therefore, watch out for damage on your car and dishonest service at La Fenice. Or be careful not to bring either your own or a rental car. It is bound to increase the cost of your vacation.

Truly spectacular! There were 6 in our group and we needed 3 rooms. We were provided a 3 BR villa, complete with large kitchen, living room and beautiful terraces. Outdoor showers are also part of this wonderful villa. La Fenice is the absolute perfect combination of Airbnb and a B&B. Breakfast and lunch are available and we never went anywhere else. We had added the breakfast option at booking. Lunch is a separate charge but very reasonable. Giulio and Giacomo share the hosting along with their dad Costantino. They are warm and wonderful and we already miss them!!! An easy walk into the center but I hardly left La Fenice. It is too perfect to leave. They arranged all the important pieces: pick up and drop off at Napoli Centrale and a boat pick up for a 4 hour morning cruise on the Amalfi Coast. Thank you for one of the best family vacations. Exceeded our expectations. PS - Yes the stairs are a lot - our villa was 150 steps up from the main road. But the hosts alerted me to that in the confirmation as did all the reviews so I worked hard on stair climbing in advance of our arrival. I'm 60+.

Such an amazing stay and a hidden gem. The property is so beautiful, but what really made the stay special was the hospitality and "family" treatment. The owners and employees are SO kind, caring, and welcoming. You feel like you are visiting your families home! We were first welcomed with an amazing limoncello spritz. Every morning we were treated to an incredible homemade breakfast on the terrace with all of the food grown on the property. They were so helpful whenever we had questions. They helped to arrange our car services to and from the napoli train station. We spent time on the private beaches and took the free paddle boards out which was so cool. We stayed at a couple other places as we traveled italy and myself and my partner agreed that nothing topped the feeling we had here. We cant wait to come back and will be recommending to others.

I've been coming to La Fenice since I was a child and it's truly a very special place. Costantino and his family make you feel so welcome at their perfect spot on the Amalfi coast. The location is stunning, with the most beautiful views, a private beach and idyllic swimming pool carved out of the rock. The rooms are simple, airy and clean, many of which have terraces, sea views and air conditioning. Breakfast is served every morning on a beautiful, shaded terrace, looking out over the ocean, with classical music playing in the background. Lunch is served by the pool and is simple but delicious. A lot of their ingredients are home grown and the quality is outstanding. I don't think there is better value for money to be had in the area, never mind service. We love it here and can't wait to come back, thank you 🙂

We absolutely loved our stay at La Fenice! We visited as a family of four (with two teenagers) and were completely blown away by the stunning beauty of Amalfi Coast views from our rooms and terraces throughout the property. The daily homemade breakfast overlooking the ocean and Positano coastline was heavenly and most of all, the hosting and care of Giulio and his family made us feel like we were staying with close friends. From spectacular hiking to booking the most delicious local restaurants to logistics of day trips on the water, Giulio helped us each day to plan the most memorable experience with our family. We hope to visit La Fenice again soon and can’t recommend it more highly. It is a true gem!!!!!

La Fenice is THE most amazing place. We rented a 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath Villa at the top of the property and it was terrific. Our family - my husband and I, our two adult daughters and their boyfriends - loved everything - the Villa, with beautiful views and terraces and AC; the pool, with delicious food and drinks served by Giacomo; the private beach, with loungers, umbrellas, kayaks & paddle boards; the 5 minute walk to town yet the quiet tranquility of the Villa/pool/beach; and the excellent service provided by Giulio and Giacomo, whether it be booking dinner reservations or a private boat tour, arranging transportation or serving us food and drinks.

It was the best vacation we could have had. Giulio and Giacomo will do everything they can to put you in true hassle-free vacation mode.

We would definitely return!

Sorry, we required a triple joined to a double. Our friends stayed in a quad suite. Staying on the lower level - below street level - is key if you Will be using the pool! Those stairs are killer just to use your bathroom or if you want to go grab more sunscreen! Remember to confirm your room has AC. And ask for a terrace if possible.
