We had a 6 night stay booked at Palazzo marzolli resort. The stay was largely enjoyable.

Pros:
Fantastic scenic views
Rooms were clean and comfortable- comfortable bed and good size rooms
Easy access to transport links and good local nearby shops for supplies
Free unlimited Wi-Fi
Breakfast delivered to balcony at requested times

Cons:
Shower pressure variable
Non negotiable breakfast times( we had a Capri boat tour booked and reception were unwilling to give us our paid breakfast before 0730)
City taxes had to be paid in cash at start of stay( other hotels we stayed in always paid at the end) and they refused to take card payment

Breakfast choices could have been better- offered additional breakfast items for surcharge however considering how much we paid I would have expected these to have been included

On the whole we had a pleasant stay and if you don’t mind a lot of walking to the beach, the views from the balcony were definitely worth it.

I would say 3* for us

In the beautiful Positano, in a central position, stands this hotel. Parking space per night 70€. View beautiful quality of sleep great, breakfast in the room included in the price but just enough in the choice. Staff courtesy and cleanliness. High prices but you know given the period in the location. Minibar 5 euro a bottle of water. Would have been appreciated a welcome gift given the costs but it means it is customary so

We had the suite with a jacuzzi for 3 days. The view was superb, but overall the price of the room seemed a little too high for 440€/night + 50€/day for parking. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke good english.

In reality this hotel is nothing more than a guest house. The only advantages: clean rooms and breathtaking views. No service is offered, except breakfast in the room, also because there are no common areas, let alone a bar. About the quality of the food and drink offer, the breakfasts served in the “zero-star” family pensions in the 1960s perhaps offered a few more chances... The much-vaunted solarium is nothing more than a terrace with a pile of sun loungers and the whirlpool not working and, moreover, covered with two mats. The emergency exit, which also gives on a staircase without emergency lights, is without the panic handle. The smoke detectors in the room are not visible: will they be there? The description of the structure states that it is located 400 m from the pedestrian area: true, but the distance is measured vertically! For those who do not want to venture between super busy narrow streets and stairs, the structure offers, at the modest amount of € 35.00 each way and "negotiable", the opportunity to take advantage of a "shuttle" (utility car that could be a service car, or the car owned by the hotelier), driven by the handyman of the hotel. Better to use the taxi service, which has the same cost, but ensures greater safety, or city buses, when they are viable.
The owners, while demonstrating in practice how they do not even superficially know the fundamentals of a hotel management, with arrogance want to impose their bizarre rules, which they apply every other day, making them pass as hotel laws ... In addition to the handyman man, the service staff, as far as we have seen, is composed of three foreign guys, educated and available as opposed to managers, willing to do, but little trained to perform the tasks entrusted to them.
In summary: a structure to avoid, even if it were the only one to have rooms available in Positano: better to postpone the holiday, than enrich those who are defined by many as "the ruin of Positano".

This is one of the worst hotels ever stayed, the AC doesn't work, wifi doesn't work and the mini bar doesn't cool.

Charged 750 euros a night and it's a complete waste, the director doesn't respond to requests to fix the AC and rather misbehaves and bangs the door saying this is how it will work.

There is no restaurant and the room service is available only few hours but that would only be helpful if you can stay in the room with below par air-conditioning.

Please don't book this hotel ever!

We had reservations for two rooms at this hotel for 7 & 8 October 2023, which were booked and fully paid for a month in advance.
Unfortunately, on 6 October, the hotel canceled one of our room reservations, citing a credit card issue. We found this confusing, as the payment had been processed successfully for both rooms.

Our attempts to communicate with the hotel staff were challenging, as there was a language barrier, which made resolving the situation even more frustrating.

Furthermore, our experience with the management left much to be desired. We felt that the focus was solely on monetary matters, and the treatment we received was less than hospitable. It's puzzling how this establishment has earned a four-star rating.

In addition to these concerns, the hotel's location was quite inconvenient, making it necessary to spend extra money on transportation to access the beach.

In summary, we had a highly unsatisfactory experience at this hotel, and if given the option, we would rate it poorly. We encountered issues with our reservation, communication, management, and location. We would strongly advise others to consider alternative accommodations when visiting Positano.

I read a lot of negative reviews about this hotel and agree with almost all of them. The treatment of the guests is extremely bad. Zero empathy, they make no effort to meet the needs of guests. A gentleman at the reception seemed to be angry and cranky all the time. Old lady, a little kinder.
Bad experience and do not recommend this hotel. It has a big 4-star rating that it says it has. They have no dining room and serve a very basic breakfast in the room which makes it quite uncomfortable. The only salvageable thing is the cleanliness and whiteness of the sheets and towels. As for the location, also not recommended for seniors as it is hundreds and hundreds of steps from the center.

Possibly the worst hotel experience ever. Horrible owners at front desk, sleazy bed and bedroom features in “ best suite”, lied about free transport which you must have to go down to actual city, changed brochure with white out to prove it wasn’t free( 70 euros ) no free internet as advertised must pay in full upon arrival before you can see room . “ free breakfast was a cup of coffee and a dry croissant.Kept our key which felt really bad as we did not trust them. Left after first night. Ruined positano experience for us.

Arrived at this hotel to be greeted by an extremely rude man who spoke only two words to us repeatedly: "no reservation, no reservation". He refused to accept that we did have a reservation even though I showed him the reservation confirmation. He did not try to help or have any empathy for our situation. From reading other reviews on this site it is clear that this hotel's policy is to double book rooms. I have reported the hotel to our travel agent who has removed it from their listings.

The hotel has a great location and no need to use stairs to get to the hotel as is on the main street, which means to go to the beach is fairly easy but there is plenty stairs, getting back to the hotel you will sweat as many hotels in Positano. Not a big deal we expected that. The room was clean and old Italian character. The bed was terrible! They say free breakfast and is just coffee with some types of bread. Parking was super expensive 85 Euros a day!!! And it had to be in cash, they don't want you to pay with your card and they don't give you any receipt. In the booking said that it included city tax already and when we arrived they charged us 7 Euros per person per night, again only cash. Check out they charged us 24 Euros for 4 bottles of water that we did not take from the mini bar, they would not understand that when we got to the room there was only one bottle of water in the refrigerator. They did not believed us, and they were very rude. We paid then again in cash so we could continue our trip. Overall we do not recommend this hotel. Don't compromise your experience in beautiful positano with this hotel.

I have recently reviewed new reviews on this hotel and it appears they are continuing to cheat and extore tourists when visiting Positano. I contacted Trip Advisor and they will not remove them from their site. I would highly recommend NOT BOOKING at this hotel. They are taking advantage of tourists.
