The Villa is in a quiet section of Positano with easy access by the local bus. We had a spacious family suite with 2 bedrooms and a private courtyard that looked out over the beautiful views. Stairs are inevitable in Positano but this place is reasonable to the main street. The lovely breakfast buffet is 80 steps up at the Hotel Conca d'Oro. Everyone at the hotel was so helpful with recommendations to get around town.

The apartment is okay, but the view that is shown wasn't even close to what we had in the apartment. If you are looking for a view, don't stay here. Only other complaint were the small flies in the residence.

The hotel that is associated with the apartments is very nice, especially the restaurant.

Avoid this Villa at all cost. No views whatsoever except for fig trees from room 607. The 2 bedroom villa stunk of dust, the wifi reception was poor and the tv lost coverage constantly. The rooms were a 3.5/5 for cleanliness. There is also a far amount of walking to get to the beach and restaurants.
The staff at reception were excellent. They promptly attended to our requests for a kettle and air conditioning that wasn’t working properly. The location is very noisy especially around 2.30am when the trash is collected. We paid an exorbitant amount for a 3 day stay when hotels on the beach were a third of the price. Lesson learnt do not book on Booking.com.
Photos are also very deceptive. We wished the accomodation looked liked the photos.

The room we stayed in was a great size and had everything we needed. The small balcony gave a lovely sea view and of positano.

(A tip is to ask for a wifi mini router to boost your internet signal if needed)

This is a lovely annexe to the hotel Conca d'oro situated a couple of flights of stairs down from the hotel. I pitied the young man who met us and carried our bags up to the hotel only to have to carry them down again. The steps in Positano are numerous and not for the infirm. The hotel staff are friendly and showed us the dining room and sun terrace both of which have amazing views.
A chilled bottle of prosecco awaited in our room which was spacious, clean, nicely furnished with a four poster bed and our own terrace, again with a great view.
Breakfast is taken in the hotel dining room and is ok but if you want anything hot or an extra cup of coffee you are charged for it.
From what I saw of the hotel rooms they also looked nicely furnished. The sun terrace is a real sun trap and we spent a couple of mornings there relaxing and taking in the scenery.
The staff assisted in booking a trip to Pompeii which is well worth the considerable time it took to get there.
Don't hire a car! The roads are a nightmare and you are there to relax and enjoy yourself which we certainly did in this nice hotel. We didn't dine in the restaurant, there are lots of nice ones nearby and in the town although from what I saw the food looked good and reasonably priced.
Positano is a beautiful place and I would recommend this hotel but you have to be prepared to do a lot of walking, unless you catch the bus into the town. The bus stop is close to the hotel.
A great place to visit and a great hotel to stay in.

We had the family room in the villas. Absolutely gorgeous. Great and beautiful place. Beautiful terrace. Very comfortable beds. The only down side is that at breakfast they do not serve their fresh squeezed orange juice. So I ordered it to the room every morning.

Positano is almost vertical, so you have to expect steps, and as we have been here before we were not surprised with 105 steps to our room. Once you get to your room the steps are forgotten as you have the most wonderful view of Positano and the majestic sea. The young man (Peppino ) servicing the hotel guests made sure that our luggage was taken to our room, and honestly this guy deserves a lot as he single handedly bought all or suitcases up and then down when it was time to leave, AMAZING. The hotel is very charming and clean with staff always willing to help.
Breakfast was great and changed daily, with the best coffee and a large choice of delicacies. Be prepared for lots of steps but also be prepared for a wonderful stay.
Will definitely come back.

I recently returned from a trip to Sicily and southern Italy, which included three nights at the Hotel Villa Principe Giovanni. I have been blessed to travel to many European countries and my stay here ranks among the top! Yes, there are many steps, but they are worth the effort and Positano is all steps! I was traveling with friends and when we reached the lobby of the Conca d'Oro we were warmly greeted by Arianna and quickly checked in. We were then shown the dining room and patio dining area (breathtaking) and the upper level solarium. After that we were taken to our rooms in the Villa where a chilled bottle of sparkling wine was waiting. I had room 601 and my friends had room 602. We were stunned by the beauty of the view and the lovely elegance of the room. Outside of my side window was a beautiful persimmon tree filled with ripe fruit-truly paradise! In the morning we had the included breakfast which was quite sufficient with baked goods, fruits and cereals. Pasquale was a wonderful, efficient and warm server, eager to please. In the evening hours we dined twice at the hotel where Luca eagerly saw to our dining enjoyment (both with the food and his suave personality). When we had questions about anything, Pina was available at the desk in the evening and even assured us that our luggage could be brought down at 3:30 A.M. for our ridiculously early departure to the Naples airport. My only disappointment in this whole stay was the cold water in the hot? tub! Really nothing to complain about. The service was wonderful, the food was very good, the room and view spectacular! I wish we could have stayed longer and would not hesitate to return.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Principe Giovanni Hotel in May of 2012. Other times we visited Italy was in September so we were delighted with the early summer weather, the lush flowers and lemon trees and just absolutely beautiful scenery. We were greeted warmly by the hotel staff, were given a quick tour of amenities and then taken to our room where we had an unexpected surprise of chilled champagne. Our beautifully decorated room overlooked the Mediterranean with a gorgeous panoramic view of the ocean, lower Positano and the mountains directly behind and all around us. Our room was huge and comfortable. Some may not like the many, many steps and stairs you have to climb to go anywhere in Positano, but for us we enjoy the exercise and challenge of the climbs. The hotel offered a porter who was only too happy to carry our heavy luggage up those steep staircases! We had been traveling for almost a month, so our bags were not light by any means. Positano has everything to offer the romantic and the adventurous which we are both. Fine or casual dining, swimming, kayaking, hiking, shopping, shopping & more shopping. Unbelievable ceramics from tiny ornaments to vases and wine decanters to dining table sets. Exquisite! All the walking compensates for all the culinary indulgences. We love Positano!!!!
