Stayed here as part of a Viatour tour of Tuscany and Cinque Terre from Rome. First off the hotel is in an excellent location in Porto Venere about a kilometer from the city center and the port where you catch the boat to the towns of the Cinque Terre. The hotel, with the exception of the restaurant, is in need...

This hotel claims to be Four Star, probably due to its swimming pool, tennis court and gym. But rooms are very dated, showers are tiny (we have a bigger one in our motorhome), and WiFi in room kept dropping out (ended up spending hours in the lobby to get consistent coverage). The equipment in the gym is only domestic standard,...

We had a lovely sea view room. Porto Venere is a welcome break from the crowds in Cinque Terre. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and charming. Breakfast has a very large variety of offerings. Short walk to town and to beaches. We stayed here 4 years ago also and the staff was lacking but I...

We were there in the month of March, is a good hotel but you can enjoy the most during spring time and summer.Nice hotel, nice breakfast a little bit old the rooms but you feel comfortable and the staff is gently.Close to the hotel you have some restaurants otherwise in five minutes walk you have Portovenere.free wifi, parking with a...

Comfortable rooms, we had a huge and wonderful patio. Unbelievable water view. I actually enjoyed not staying right in the Cinque Terre. Easy to get to the touristy areas from Porto Venere, and you avoid the crowds. But the main problem was the Internet connection. Had to go to the lobby, didn't even work in the BAR!! Small problem, but...

The hotel is located about half a mile from the port but there are small shops and restaurants nearby. Also within a short walk is the Supermercato where you can buy some cheese, pesto, grappa and wine all reasonably priced. The cleaning service is quick and efficient. Though cleaners leave a lingering odor. Breakfast is rather lackluster as is the...

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Royal Sporting Hotel in Porto Venere. The hotel reminded me a little of the luxury of years past that has lost a little of its luster. We had a nice room with a balcony that looked directly onto an inlet affectionately called 'The Gulf of Poets'. I can see why - the...

Great location. Walking distance from the harbor to take the boats to Cinque Terre. Breakfast was wonderful with variety of options. Rooms were clean and we had a balcony. The only negative thing is internet didn't work well in the room and had to go to the lobby to get wifi. Other than that. Enjoy PortoVenere, it's sooo beautiful and...

Spent two nights on this hotel. The location was good, and it is a good starting point for visiting Cinque Terre. Other positive things with this hotel was the breakfast, swimming pool and the hotel does also offer valet parking. On the other side, the hotel has more negative than positive things. The hotel is very old and definitely need a...

The hotel rooms need renovation. Beds have seen better times, let's say at time of the first Gulf War. Same for the furniture. The personnel is average, but could be kinder in a 4* hotels that names itself "Royal". Price is way too high. Wifi not working in the rooms. Come on this is 2016... Breakfast is good. And that's...
