Piccolo Hotel Luisa was recently restored, following the Mediterranean tradition mingled with the oriental taste of its owners. Unforgettable buffet-like breakfast and a warm welcome from the family who runs this charming hotel.

Detailed Reviews
Having read the reviews before our trip we had high expectations on PHL - from location to comfort to food. The owners made sure to exceed our expectations by accommodating all our (sensible) requests from arranging a crib and monitoring the napping baby (we headed out for just 20 minutes, I swear) to treating us to tasty appetizers and handsomely extending check-out. The hotel was kept spotless and the location is ideal. Car access/parking possible. Luisa, grand-daughter to the eponymous Luisa, will tell you all the dos and don’ts of Ponza. We hope to be back soon!

Small Hotel Luisa, delightfully authentic and well-kept where you feel at ease from the first moment. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. You really feel welcomed with pleasure. The service is attentive and never intrusive, the rooms are refined in detail and cleaned with care. The restaurant then offers you cuisine you don't expect, refined and unexpected combinations, with quality products.
Thanks to all of you, we had a great time!

We didnt reside in the hotel but we came here for dinner with friends! We received a very warm welcome and the service was pristine. The staff were very knowledgable about the meal and suggested the different dishes that we might enjoy.
The fish was delightful and fresh and the dessert ( tiramisu ) was to die for! I will definitely return on my next trip to Ponza!

In short:
staying at this hotel depends on whether you get rooms in the original hotel or the annex, it could be a wonderful stay or a terrible one. The second happened to us.
When you book make sure with them that they don't give you the rooms under the restaurant (10,11,12,13..), they are an annex compared to the original hotel and are not worth the full price (not even worth the €150 they charged us as a discount). Most of them have no window other than the French door at the entrance (see attached photo) and overlook the shared courtyard where the restaurant customers come and go from 8pm until closing time (half past midnight). Even stopping in front of the rooms to smoke and talk. Furthermore, when the restaurant is closed until half past one in the morning, there is a coming and going of waiters taking out the rubbish on trolleys.
However, the breakfast was phenomenal, handmade cakes, full of fruit, even with the savory part.
In detail
Driven by the nice reviews and photos of the rooms on the site we booked directly with them (April for August).
When we arrived we witnessed the scene of two different couples who had had their room changed after days and who were saying "oh finally this one is fine" and one of the two couples handed over the keys 12 and 1, coincidentally they gave us the 12. This is of a room in the annex under the restaurant, bathroom without extraction, room without air recirculation and impossibility of leaving the windows open because the room overlooks the courtyard where all the restaurant customers pass by.
When we rightly complain that we were given a room that was rejected by others and it was not honest treatment, we were told that unfortunately there are no other rooms free for another two days, and that with all the different rooms it is impossible to please everyone.
A piece of advice is to book the rooms directly given the big difference, and vary the prices accordingly by describing the rooms you are going to book well.
The room they moved us to is perfect, from here it is possible to understand the many positive reviews of this hotel.

We have been directed to this place by local friends for our holiday this year but it was an appalling experience. Our room was incredibly small, despite booking said large double room. The room was ridiculously overpriced for what was offered and facing a white wall only rather than the “Mediterranean garden” as described in their adverts. Lots of mosquitos and room given with no repellent devices unless you ask for. Appallingly, the evening of the first night the personnel entered our room unauthorised (we were out) and didn’t even apologise. We only realised that because we could no longer find the lighter we borrowed from reception to lit the mosquito coils. Breakfast was mediocre and nothing to do with Italian stuff. The chef looked scruffy wearing dirty shoes all time. As an Italian expat I felt profoundly deluded, disrespected and ashamed by the luck of education of these people. I would definitely not recommend.

Surely the PHL should be taken into account for stays in Ponza.
Managed by the excellent Luisa Musco who inherited the activity from her grandmother "donna Luisa"; woman Luisa who had the privilege of hosting, in one of the rooms of the Hotel, Sandro Pertini (confined to Ponza, in 1935).
Friendly, family atmosphere; polite and helpful staff; never intrusive.
Good location, within walking distance of the center and the port (to and from which an efficient shuttle service is available).
The rooms could use a "refreshment"; but this aspect takes a back seat to the level of hospitality, mentioned above.
Interesting the possibility to dine at the attached Restaurant "Shrimp and Capers" which makes use of the excellent direction of chef Luigi Nasti; available at the customer's requests, prepares well-cooked dishes, with quality raw materials, tasty and well presented.

We booked a weekend in this hotel and we immediately had maximum availability and courtesy. Once on site the impression was very positive for the central location, hospitality, cleanliness, bright and functional rooms, great and varied breakfast. Ms. Emanuala at the reception was very kind and exhaustive for all the information on Ponza for those who, like us, visited it for the first time. Ms. Luisa has solved, for the best, all our needs during the stay in a professional manner, with great availability and friendliness. We always felt like in a welcoming family. Also for breakfast the manager was always attentive, helpful and kind as well as, like everyone, extremely polite. Fast and egregious shuttle service. We highly recommend a holiday in this beautiful hotel that "small" has nothing but on the contrary has a lot of "great"...
John and Josephine.

I stayed in July in this lovely and well-kept hotel, everything perfect:
scrupulous cleanliness, friendly and polite staff, great and plentiful breakfast served in a very pleasant patio by Anna always smiling and helpful. generally I do not like to dine at the hotel instead the restaurant was a pleasant surprise good food presented with great care by staff attentive to everything. Small and pleasant cadeaux at the end of dinner and at check out. shuttle service and strategic location
Highly recommended, I will definitely return.

I'm Alberto, a Friulian from Pordenone. I was a guest at the Piccolo Hotel for 5 days in November. The hotel offers a warm and informed welcome. I received good inputs to do my treks in this beautiful island. The room shines for cleanliness and presence of accessories. I especially enjoyed the balcony overlooking the island. The care taken in the structure can be seen in the numerous details designed to give warmth to the rooms: the chandeliers made with sticks or small glass bubbles, the boat underfoot in the entrance and another in the garden, the sundial on the wall etc. What is perhaps missing is a common area with a sofa where you can sit after a day out and about and in the dark outside (in the summer the problem does not arise). Standard breakfast, in a bright room, enriched with certain special sweets. Thanks for the welcome Alberto

Buongiorno,
per quale periodo ?
