During the stay I had gone to dinner at Gennarino a Mare discovering its beautiful location promising myself that I would stay here on a subsequent trip. Well, this year I came back, I stayed at Gennarino a Mare. There's no other place for me. I found my reference hotel. I stayed 5 nights, unforgettable experience. The hotel is a gem where you can breathe the history of the palace and the family. The staff is all very nice and helpful. Going to sleep in the evening and waking up in the morning with eyes full of the colors and sounds of the sea is incredibly relaxing. Breakfast and dinner on the outdoor patio at water level is an emotion.

Fantastic location, protected from noise but a short walk from the center, the port, the shuttle stop and the beach of Giancos, very nice although "close" to the port. Balcony sea view that leaves speechless, very kind staff. Good breakfast, which could be improved maybe in the salty part. Room and bathroom a bit 'small as we had already read in the reviews but in the end it feels good anyway. Due to the non-departure of the hydrofoil we would have liked to extend the stay of one night but, despite having no place, the reception lady was very kind helping us to find an alternative solution.

Hotel directly on the sea with room and balcony. Great hospitality and service. Very good also the kitchen. A real holiday to be born, free and without worries but the horizon. Costume, flip-flops, dinghy and dives in the beautiful sea of Ponza.

The owners have this hotel plus a larger one that serves 80 rooms, but Gennerino is right in town where the activity is. The chef really knows seafood. If you are one of the ultra riche, you will stay in a large villa, but for a three day getaway, Gennerino is wonderful. Be sure to get a seaside bedroom and sleep with the doors open. Breakfasts are ample and pastries always homemade and hot. Get Joe Taxi to take you on a tour of the island to see the beaches, grottoes and views. Joe is the only one on island who speaks English and his knowledge of historical sites is the best. Get some of Joe's brand of island philosophy. I love this hotel. Comfy, accommodating, delicious.

This is probably one of the best restaurants in Italy especially if you consider the location right in the sea. The food and service is excellent. I come here every year and this is one of the best places in Italy.

When you happen to be in Ponza, you have to dine at gennarino a mare - the most romantic place on the island - enjoying the beauty of the sea-view from the private patio of the restaurant. The cuisine of Gennarino a mare is simply fantastic: you can try a lot of Mediterranean specialties based on fresh fish, strictly from the island, only prepared according to the traditions of Ponza! It is impossible to say which dish is the most special, so you should try them all and you’ll definitely won’t regret it! The staff, courteous and discreet, will cuddle you throughout the dinner. The restaurant is well known both by local people and tourists, so booking in advance is recommdended. Gennarino a mare is also a beautiful little hotel with amazing white rooms and blue tiles balcony, it’s all fresh and very well kept despite being directly on the sea. The sound of the waves will cuddle you at night and wake you up in the morning...that’s magic! Gennarino a mare has a private dock to moor boats just in case you come for lunch or dinner.
