The property is fantastic, the location allows you to enjoy on one side the spectacular sunset behind the island of Palmarola and on the other the sunrise over the harbor. It is a natural oasis made of flowers, herbs and bright spaces. The breakfast prepared by the ladies Mary and saint was amazing, homemade cakes by them, crepes, omelette and vegetables for those who love salty instead. The entrance is always open to take advantage of the water that is in the hole at all times (often there are also treats that have not been finished at breakfast available to guests throughout the day). The rooms are clean, bright, tidy and intimate, with an outdoor table to enjoy the coolness of the evening. In short, the place is amazing, kind people and the stay was poetic and romantic.

We returned to Gabbiano for the fourth time (the first in 2017) to fill our eyes and hearts with beauty. Straddling the panorama to the West over Palmarola (behind which the sun sets) and to the East over the port of Ponza, this B&B has rooms overlooking the blue sea, caressed by the wind and immersed in silence broken only by the voice of seagulls. And the breakfast full of all good things (bonus!) is carefully prepared by Mariolina who, this year with Santa's help, makes us feel truly at home every time. I spent time, last weekend, and everything was excellent. Panoramic view, with special and unic vision of the sunset from one side and complete view on the port side and then on the Ponza City. The strategical position between the North of the island and the Port zone is a plus.
Excellent breakfast prepared by Maria, wonderful and Kindness person, that will take care about each single request.
It is very suggested to choose and stay in Villa Il Gabbiano because for sure you'll be satisfied.

My wife and I spent a week in this beautifully located B&B in September. Not only the location is fantastic, the entire complex from the rooms to the terrace, the garden and the breakfast room is lovingly maintained. Maria, the friendly housewife, prepared us every morning a breakfast that left nothing to be desired. The rooms were restored to excellent condition every day. We felt completely comfortable!

My husband and I were staying at Il Gabbiano for almost two weeks. The time seemed to be standing still. It is the most amazing place to relax and unwind. The entire place is beautifully decorated with lovely bedrooms, a spacious living room and a huge outside area with view on the sea. It is located on top of a hill, a local person told us, it is the best place for watching sunsets - we can only confirm! The house is kept very clean and the rooms are tidied daily. Breakfast was, well let's put it simply, incredible! Cristina, is the host of Il Gabbiano and she's definitely our star of Ponza! Thank you for all the memories! We will come back!

We have been traveling to many countries and beautiful places in the world. But we seldom had a view from our accomodation like from Il Gabbiano. As it is located on top of a hill, the view is almost 360 °: one side dominates the harbour of Ponza, the other the sea with Palmarola island just in front 10 km away. There is a huge terrace to admire the scenery. The house is very pleasant. The lady taking care of it is charming and always anxious to please the guests. The breakfast is excellent and seved on the terrace, weather permitting. The house is about 4 km from the harbour where the "action" is, as are most of the restaurants. You will need to rent a scooter or a small car if you don't want to depend on the bus or taxi (15 € one way). The bed is the weak point of the house. It is not comfortable at all since when one person moves, it is likely that he or she will wake up the other because the mattress bounces. Too bad.

We stayed for 8 nights at "Il Gabbiano" and had an absolutely amazing time. The property is beautifully maintained and in a breathtaking location. Cristina is the heart and soul of the whole operation - and she completely pampered us. Her culinary skills are fantastic and she was incredibly helpful on all fronts. In fact, we felt like we were part of "la famiglia". We are planning on returning to Ponza next year - and we would never think for a second of staying anywhere else but "Il Gabbiano". We stayed for 4 nights in early August '19. The property is managed very professionally by Turistcasa who have an office in the Port (Via Roma, 4) and who kindly drove us up to Il Gabbiano when we arrived off the ferry from Ischia. Gabriella and Stefania were both very helpful regarding all things; where to rent a car, good restaurants, etc. The B&B has about 7 rooms, and is kind of in the middle of the island, on the main road which runs from one end to the other. Very quiet, the french doors in our bedroom cut out all exterior sound, and the air-conditioner worked very well. However we slept with the doors open at night as they have a mosquito screen and shutters and there is very little noise from the road. The bed was very comfortable, great linen and a good bathroom. The views are spectacular, particularly of Palmarola Island. Breakfasts are good; local cake and pastry specialities, but also ricotta cheese, salami, fruit, yoghurt, fruit juice and, of course, coffee. We had a mini fridge in our room with water, and there is a nice touch of liqueurs left out in the main living area for general consumption. There is a bus stop right outside the property, but would recommend hiring your own wheels to properly explore the island. We had a bit of a problem with the WiFi and I think this might be an ongoing one because there were 4 options, all of which allowed one to connect with the password, but could not connect to WiFi. It was eventually achieved on our last day. A minor inconvenience given the surrounding beauty and comfort. Highly recommend Il Gabbiano.

My husband and I came to Ponza after such a long day flying from London, then train to Formia and then by ferry to Ponza. The photos I looked at when booking the hotel couldn’t show the amazingness of the place! The staff were really nice and sweet to us. Anna who works there, she was such a kind person. And Gabriella (owner) was so sweet taking us from the port to the hotel with no charge. Clean, beautifully decorated and quiet place to stay at with the best view ever. Breakfast was great! Transportation was very easy : we took the bus which you can get every 10-15 minutes.
All and all: We give them 10/10!
