Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After needing a sudden transfer to a new hotel, my wife and my brother and his wife stayed here for 6 days and we were immediately accommodated. Tre Stelle is a hidden gem of travel comfort and we highly recommend staying here. Hotel is clean and air conditioning is very good for those travelling in the summer. Location is excellent for those touring the wineries of Montepulciano and Montalcino as well as the hilltop cities of Penza and Sienna. Prices are fair and very reasonable and include a breakfast in the morning which was quite nice. Their aperitivos in the evening were quite good as well. Elisa and Chiara went out of their way daily to help us by calling taxis, restaurants and wineries we could tour and they never failed to help us, all with a happy friendly smile. All hotel staff were very accommodating, friendly and thoughtful. Every morning they even remembered our coffee orders and met us with a smile. by the way, the best pizza in the Province of Siena is next door too. Can’t go wrong here.

While traveling through Italy, I wanted to stay a couple of days in Montepulciano. Found this hotel on Expedia for the unbelievable price of 45 Euros per day(plus taxes). I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The hotel is quite simple, but clean. And although on the main road about 10 mins outside of Montepulciano proper, I found the room to be quiet. I had a balcony where I was able to sit with sparkling water, a wonderful local red wine, some bread and prosciutto overlooking the rolling Tuscan hills. It was amazing. The food in the attached restaurant was good and reasonably priced. ('Pici' is the local pasta and was delicious everywhere.) The breakfast was completely unremarkable. Free parking was easy right next to the hotel or in the lot the hotel owns across the street. I recommend this hotel as it gives you the feel of an authentic local Italian experience at a very reasonable cost.

The hotel can be summarized in one word: Charming! Our experience here was fantastic. The owner who was at the reception desk when we arrived is really helpful and her constant smile illuminates our day! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom, although small, the shower was potent and amazing! I had a wonderfull stay here. I’d recommend to everyone! Oh... and the view was amazing too!

Hotel appears to be owned and run by a family, who were very friendly, but some of the staff had limited.English language The staff advertised that it has a pool, but this was not so. What they did have was the use of a Pool at a leisure centre 2 kms away. The hotel was some distance from the centre of Montepulciano. The rooms at the backoverlooked the kitchens and there was a strong smell of cooking most of the time.

Nice hotel, located adjacent to the road to the old town of Montepulciano. Nice room, quit, when you open the window, the aircondition stops working (saving energy). The breakfast was pretty good. We liked it!

Located outside Montepulciano so you need a car. Very basic hotel but clean. Staff seemed very disinterested and surprised having read reviews before. Male receptionist made you feel a nuisance. Breakfast basic but OK. TELL LIES ABOUT SWIMMING POOL IT'S NOT ON SITE AS SAID ON WEBSITE. ( since being back they have amended a picture of the swimming pool saying somewhere else but not that it;s a public swimming pool) It is a public swimming pool 3 miles away in another village with no directions to get there. Overrall very basic hotel and probably not good value for money and only saved by the restaurant next door that seemed very Italian in that the locals frequent it and it has good food, good price and is atmospheric. On balance stay away.

This charming, quiet (though ask for a room on the back side of the hotel), family run place is refreshingly genuine. Very clean, rooms are comfy, and the staff very helpful and full of good recommendations. Nice breakfast buffet. Great location for access to everything between Montepulciano and Montalcino.

Firstly I want to say that Paola, the owner, is a lovely lady and looks after her guests. When we arrived we realised that we had left our passports in the previous hotel's safe. Paola helped us arrange to get them back. The hotel is around 5 minutes drive to Montepulciano is an quiet suburban area. You can't drive into Montepulciano so if you have a car, this is an easier option. The hotel reminded us of a typical upper market Italian old-style pensione from around the 70s-80s. It is very basic but it does have a small lift, which is useful for luggage. The rooms have air conditioning and ours had a lovely balcony with chairs and table overlooking the countryside. Paola gave us great recommendations for food and places to see around the area. Paola supplied us with more pillows, which was welcomed. The towels were bath sheets. There was a shower in the bath. Unfortunately, the shower was designed poorly and could not get enough water pressure to have a proper shower standing up. It worked well if I sat down in the bath. It was also nice to have a bath too. The bed was comfortable. The room cleaner was meticulous with her work. Our room was always immaculate! Thanks. The breakfast was sort of like they had shopped from all the breakfast confectionary in the supermarket aisle. At least there was cereal, yoghurt, toast, jams & proper coffee. The restaurant down below is worth a visit. It is very popular with locals and we ate there twice because the food was good with decent prices and great service.

Couple miles from Montepulciano a very reasonable and wonderful hotel. Extremely clean and most personal and cordial service. The breakfast is a big spread of Italian specialties. The attention to details is excellent. What ever you want the y will accommodate. The hotel is close to a lot of ancient and very interesting towns and a good place to stay to reach them all. Get a superior room with balcony. There is a restaurant / Pizzaria at the hotel which is excellent. Also wine caves, restaurants, cheese and Pecerino and enjoy.
