This hotel is very comfortable and in a very nice position in the center of Molveno. The room was beautiful and with a balcony that was with view in front of the lake. Forniture was modern and comfortable. Food was very very good (also gluten free and lactose free). I will return in this place as soon as possible.

Stayed as a couple within a group in September 2023. A family run hotel ideally situated over Lake Molveno, with a number of rooms, including ours, having exquisite Lake views. The hotel terrace, with loungers, jacuzzi and tables, offers the best view. The room was fine, with plenty of storage space, more than enough hangers, a safe (very small but securely built into the wall), a fridge, and a comfortable bed. Balcony with lake view. No AC that we could find, except in the bathroom, which had an excellent shower and permanent supply of hot water. Rooms were serviced every day, usually while we were at breakfast. The meals were of a high standard. We dined there every night (though being in a group, we had to choose at breakfast time what we wanted for our evening meal). Dinner was fine, with a help yourself salad bar which included pizza, followed by 3 courses. I've seen criticisms of the meals on this site, but we found them very good, only observation being that the mains didn't come with veg, so sometimes needed a trip back to the salad bar. Restaurant staff were very affable and efficient. The bar was remarkably cheap compared to the rest of the town, though there are no dedicated staff - the same person services reception and the bar, so you may have to wait for a drink. Breakfast was continental and more than adequate. I did manage to set fire to the toaster one morning, so I have no doubt the staff will remember me. The town is delightful, and the lake is spectacular. A walk all the way round it is 2-3 hours and not for the faint-hearted, with inclines to navigate at various points. It seemed like a good idea at the time. All in all, it was an excellent week at Lake Molveno. We ventured to Bolzano, Trento and Lake Garda on day trips, which were very worthwhile, and the sun shone almost continually, which of course helped. Would go back, though a final thought, Verona airport is undergoing a major revamp and departures were chaotic, to say the least.

Room Tip: Try yo get room overlooking lake. I think most rooms do, but there are some facing the town.

This is a lovely hotel in a magnificent setting. Downside is that its uphill when walking back from the lake. Plus point is that this gives it a great view of the lake and surrounding mountains. Lovely food and sufficient for a normal appetite. Don't forget you are in Italy and so won't be served meals with chips in the evening. The cuisine is a mix of Austrian and Italian. So wiener schnitzel and strudel may be on the menu. There's a town square outside the hotel and during July and August there is entertainment most nights. Folk music, pop music, children's entertainers were among the acts that appeared during our stay. No one on our tour complained about the noise from the entertainers, but you may be different. It finished at 10 every night. The amenities at the lake are great, canoes, paddle boards, kayaks and electric boats can be hired. There's a pool , volley ball court, crazy golf, basket ball court and no doubt other activities I've forgotten. The cleanliness puts the UK to shame. Walk up the river and you can get up into the mountains. There's a cafe part way up. Alternatively take the cable car and ski lift up. Town has a supermarket, cafes, restaurants, gift shops of varying quality, delicatessens and outdoor apparel shops.

The Ariston is set at the far end of the lake with excellent views from balconies on that side. We had room 208 on the other side with a lovely view of the church and the distant mountains. The hotel has an alpine feel to its decor with lots of wood. It is clean with good room servicing. The restaurant overlooks the lake as does a small terrace with a hot tub. Our room was adequate. No tea and coffee, of course so take a kettle. Bathroom fine. Wifi was a bit of a nightmare. Good speed if you get a connection but we both had problems as our Iphone and Android kept refusing to connect because of security warnings. We gave up in the end. Molveno is very small with only a handful of tiny shops. Luckily the supermarket is just 100 yards from the hotel. Closed from 12 to 3 and all day Thursday. The town itself was totally deserted in late May. Busy for a very short summer season I expect...and in the winter perhaps. The town is spotless. Not a single scrap of litter to be seen anywhere nor a splash of graffiti. The lawns and areas by the lake were pristine. We walked round the lake on a fine day. It is an easy 6 mile walk that took about 3 and half hours with a couple of steeper parts. Boats for hire on the lake etc. Our biggest gripe was the food in the Ariston. We were on a Newmarket group booking and the menu on the restaurant`s displayed menu is nothing like had been arranged for us. Even allowing for different style meals abroad to what we are used to at home the presentation and choice was odd. My wife and I are vegetarian so we always know we are going to struggle abroad as we are aliens in Europe. The staff did try hard to offer us alternatives to the Newmarket menu which we appreciated...a bit. Melted cheese on a tiny dollop of polenta one night, a two egg omelette with a a cube of boiled potatoes the next. Not complaining as they had made the effort, but not exciting meals. The meat and fish eaters grumbled as their main meals were very sparse on the plate. Desserts were laughable on two occasions with a cupcake plonked down in the middle of a plate or a biscuit with green cream on top. This contrasted with a nice chocolate dish another night and later a tasty cheesecake. So all a bit hit or miss. No one wanted egg and chips or a roast dinner or beans on toast, but you would have thought that the catering would have recognised that they were dealing with a coach load of British guests. Difficult balance, I know. Fortunately there was a buffet of salad dishes to choose from which worked very well for us. Special shout out to waitress Gabby who was always cheerful, helpful and fun. Breakfast was adequate with the usual European choices available: yoghurt, cereals, pastries, lots of cake, meat, cheese, some fresh fruit but not quite enough. No bananas. Would we stay there again? Yes. It is well placed for visiting other towns and areas like Trento, Bolsano and Lake Garda. Only 2 hour flights to Verona. About 100 minutes drive away. Pretty village. Lovely lake. ................

This is a lovely hotel, with friendly staff throughout. We had a room with a fabulous view of the lake and apart from not having tea/coffee facility was of a good standard. Clean, good towels and linen, safe ( was tiny) and fridge, tv but no English speaking channel, not even world news. Meals - had a choice of 3 for each course in the evening, but catered very well with any dietary needs. Breakfast was a good continental selection. Our only slight complaint would be that you had to retain your knife for starter and main. Sadly not much atmosphere in the bar but the staff are very chatty. There is a hot tub and a bathing area again with stunning views. If you enjoy a peaceful surrounding, you can't go wrong.

This is a really nice hotel ideally placed up a couple of slopes from the lakeside. This gives lake facing rooms a beautiful view while not presenting a mountain climb for guests. It is also well placed for the cable car/chairlift. Just take a walk straight up the hill. This is quite steep! The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The en suite shower and toilet are also in good size rooms and there are plenty of drawers and hanging space. Towels are changed daily and the room, like the rest of the hotel, is kept clean to an immaculate standard. All you can eat buffet breakfasts contain a large variety of continental fare including fruit and yoghurt, numerous pastries, cakes, cheeses and meat, fruit juices, rolls and bread which you can toast if you wish. Tea and coffee is served at the table including cappuccinos. Dinner offers a variety of salad items for self service. Guests choose from a choice of 3 starters and 3 main courses at breakfast and are then offered a variety of desserts to suit all tastes. The food is well cooked, tasty and offers good variety. There is a lovely bar overlooking the lake with outside seating on a terrace. Staff are available all day to service alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks. The cappuccino is excellent and I developed a particular taste for Aperol spritzer! The television provides sports coverage but if Italy is playing that is the match on TV! The staff are all delightful and it is like a friendly family gathering. Why only a 4 star ranking? The wi-fi is a bit intermittent but I found I could also login to the local Trentino network. One shouldn’t be a slave to wi-fi on holiday but it is nice to know you have a good strong signal. Would I go again to this hotel again. Most definitely. Anyone choosing it will find a warm welcome, lovely staff, food, rooms and bar/lounge. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We visited three times during our weeks stay in Molveno. First was coffee, second was strudel and drinks and third light lunch and strudel again. You have guessed the strudel was very good. Stunning location. Pleasant staff. Would highly recommend. Very good value.

A circular walk from the hotel to Refuge Croz dell Altissimo with John a member of our group,We set off from the the cable car station up a steep grass slope to Via Belvedere to the Sentiero Deft track to the viewpoint for Lake Molveno. It climbs diagonally up through the forest to Valle dell Orla to reach the cliff path for the Refuge. The path hugs the cliffside passing through a tunnel, and under overhangs with the cliffs soaring above and dropping vertically to the river valley below. After 2-3 hrs you reach the Refuge,it was fenced off for maintenance work.We where standing in a basin of boulders at the base of the encircling Dolomite mountain ridges.Just up from the fence I noticed a flat grassy area, we clambered up and sat down to have our lunch. On looking round ther was a large H carved in the grass, we were sat on a helecopter pad.We had just finished our lunch when we heard the rotors of a helecopter, it came from between to peaks ad crossed the valley in front of us,We thought nothing of it as they had been flying back and forwards all morning. Suddenly the sound of rotors was growing louder, and there it was coming straight towards us,we sat there mesmerised as it swung round to land right behind us,throwing up dust and twigs, my hat went soaring through the air, Johns camera bag rolled down the slope, our map flew out of the bag and entangled itself in the square mesh of the fence.I slid down rescue my hat, the map , the camera and the bag.

Nice hotel, located in the village. Fantastic view of the lake and surrounding mountains (from some rooms!). Rooms and bathrooms are good size, with balconies ± lake view, very clean. The bed is very comfortable. Breakfast so-so, with cakes, salami, yoghurt, a lot of gems and dried fruits (a lot of sugar). Do not expect fresh fruits, seeds/nuts, boiled eggs (just scramble eggs). The dinner was very nice, with no choice of fruit as desert! Staff were excellent! The bar is wonderful with great view of the lake and a lot of choice of drinks. There is a terrace with a small jacuzzi and lake view.
