I love this quirky little hotel. We stayed for 2 nights at the end of a month long trip to Sicily while we visited Mt Etna. It's right on the seafront and has underground parking. It is family owned and operated and they are lovely....very friendly and helpful at all times. The rooms are quirky with quite old fashioned furniture... More

We stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to Taormina. That was it's only good point. It is across a road from the beach, but this area is super busy from May through late September, and even the hotel itself runs a late night cafe out the south side. Therefore with SS114 right next to the hotel and the... More

The hotel is close to the beach and a short walk to the station. There is plenty of free parking on the streets outside. But the rooms were small, equipped with a tiny tv, dull, smelled damp and the towels were like table cloths. The staff are pleasant and breakfast is ok.

This hotel came as a surprise because our hotel in Taormina kicked us out because of previous reservations. We decided to go down the hill and give it a try. The town is nothing to write home about but the hotel was beautiful, great breakfast, great staff and the best gelato out the door and to the left.

Lovely hotel, with charming rooms and interesting interior. Staff was helpful and friendly. Good connection to Catania (its about 45km) and Taormina. Breakfast was poor and monotonous, but with beautiful view from dining terrace. Small bathroom...

This hotel was chosen by our tour company. It is different from most in that the furniture is old & quirky though not quite antique. The reception rooms are nice & the attractive breakfast room on the top floor has wonderful views. Breakfast itself was mediocre with the same things on offer each day & never enough fruit salad. Our... More

Our room was in front of the sea but because of bad isolation, we had terrible nights. We took 2 nights and the room wasn't cleaned the one day we had. Espresso coffee is not included in the breakfast, you have to pay extra for that. Finally, we were kindly advise to use the parking lot of the hotel even... More

La Riva was a last second choice, because the alternative accommodation reserved from home turned out to be too sedated. We found the hotel in our Lonely Planet guide, showed up in the reception and were lucky enough to get two adjoining double rooms with shared bath on the top floor for our family of four at a reasonable price.... Poor breakfast is the only objection, and fact that every morning we have a same food for breakfast, but and this is ok when you have an amazing view to the see and bay from your restourant. :) Everything else is so good.

This is a good little hotel on a rather noisy seafront, with lovely rooms furnished with old-style, dark-wood furniture - a nice change from the usual cheap rubbish you get in budget hotels. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the common areas are uniquely decorated, showing real care and attention to detail. We particularly liked the surreal concrete... More
