Just returned from a week staying in the Hotel Astoria. Cant fault this hotel in anyway. Bedroom and Bathroom were immaculate. Lots of hot water and clean towels. Beds comfy and extra blankets and pillows provided. I would agree with the previous comment about heavier...More
Lake Garda is stunning and as you will only use your room for sleeping I wouldn't worry if I had to stay at the hotel again. Previous reviews adequately describe this hotel (smallish rooms, quirky, reasonable restaurant and breakfast, friendly and clean) so not much...More

Hi Pauline. To be honest i never saw any downstairs rooms and i did not see a lift either. People had to lug the cases up and down the stairs. It is only one flight of steps to the first floor around 20 steps on a fairly wide staircase. The hotel is nice and is quirky but be aware it is also noisy particularly if you have to open the windows and they are very strict about not putting the aircon on until june even when temps are 30C. The balcony which is also on the first floor is a lovely place to relax and has a nice view of the lake. Its a good location for the lake, bars and restaurants and the bus station to get to other places.
