Lovely little hotel right in the centre of this quaint little town . An excellent base for visiting Pisa, Lucca, Portofino and Cinque Terra. Breakfast and food taken at hotel excellent, staff extremely helpful . We upgraded our room from a double to a deluxe and thought the extra 20€ was well worth it for the comfort and beautiful bathroom...

This was a lovely hotel to stay in Chiavari. My daughter had stayed there five years ago and my cousin said she thought it was the best in the area. So we did stay there three nights and it was just lovely. I can't wait to go back. It was the best way to end our special trip, meeting my...

We had heard the Chiavari is a quiet spot on the Italian Riviera that the locals enjoy. We loved it. The hotel is lovely and was quiet when we were there. The breakfast buffet and coffee are a click above the standard fare. The resturant is also very nice and the wait staff are especially helpful and warm. They want...

We were invited to a wedding celebration held in the restaurant of this hotel. The food and service were excellent and the location itself perfect for this type of function. The antipasto was amazing in the choice and quality of food offered. The same applies to the deserts. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is ideally situated only 5 minutes walk from the main shopping streets and 10 minutes from the beach and harbour. The room was comfortable and large with a large clean bathroom. Lots of little touches such as hot drinks in the room, mosquito machine should you want to sleep with the windows open but each room has air...

This hotel is without doubt the best in Chiavari. The rooms are small and the bathroom/shower a bit cramped but serves the purpose if you are using this as the base for touring Liguria, Santa Margherita, Portofino, Cinque Terra area. The pool is large and pristine and offers a nice surround both covered and open for sunbathing and relaxing. A...

recently renovated hotel (rooms and new pool) smack in the city center. You cannot really go wrong here: great location in this historic town, close to the beach. Food was nice", highlight was an aperitivo with a nice snacks buffet right by the pool, organized on one of the evenings. Our room was spacious and probably renovated in the past...

Actually, quite easy to find thanks to "trafic signs". Nice reception area, where you'll be welcomed by proffesional staff members, who also helps you with parking (pre-book!) and luggage. The rooms are well sized with AC, and bath-rooms clean and at least our was devided in two, with shower cabin separated, with a sliding door. The terrace is nice, and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Monte Rosa is the "Secret Dream", the fruit of love and constant dedication of two young newlyweds, grandparents of the present proprietors, who in 1909, with passion and sacrifice gave life to this establishment, transforming it over the years from a small restaurant to a 4 star hotel with 62 rooms, Restaurant, Banqueting Hall and Swimming Pool. It's located in the beautiful historical porticoed town centre of Chiavari, immersed in the heart of this vibrant small medieval city, and only a few minutes from the promenade. Chiavari moreover is situated at the centre of an area rich in natural beauty: from the uncontaminated Cinque Terre to Portofino, from Genoa, with its aquarium and beautiful historical centre, to Camogli and Sestri Levante. The hotel is the destination chosen by those who have a passion for trekking, tourism, cycling and mountain biking, those who want to forget the car and choose either the train or the boat as an alternative mode transport or those who simply want to relax and be pampered away from the hustle and bustle of stressful living. ... more   less
