We had again lunch at the Abbaye in la Bussière. Lunch was served in the garden, which makes it even better ( although interior of the Abbaye is unbelievable beautiful). Congratulations to the new chef Guillaume Royer and his team: the Michelin star is back! Food was delicious and the sommelier 's wine selection was excellent! Great

Wonderful to welcome you both back to the Abbaye. Guillaume is preparing for your day in the kitchen on your next visit ! With kind regards, Clive, and all the team.

This English run hotel is a former Cistercian Abbey, and what a stunning example it is. The Abbey and grounds are both superb and we found the staff and hosts charming and helpful throughout our stay. Safe parking was available and the food was just wonderful, both in the evening and at breakfast, would not hesitate to recommend to others...

The Abbaye de la Bussiere is nestled in the most beautiful location. Tranquil, lush and green. Beautiful lake surrounded by tall trees with the sun reflecting on the water whilst a crane gently wanders...... idyllic one might think. I liken the Abbaye to a swan gliding gracefully over the water, but underneath its all off at Kempton. Upon arrival after...

Without a name and a date I cannot investigate ! Why do people hide behind a sudo name and not talk to the owners or manager face to face about a problem ? We are not perfect. What we do have, is plenty of character. This is not a multi chain group with training manuals for every little detail overseen...

We stayed three nights and had lunch four times. We found everything just perfect. We especially compliment all the staff, everyone of whom was welcoming, cheerful, efficient, and helpful. A few words about the grounds...gardeners (and even non-gardeners) will love the Abbaye's grounds. With a background of the Burgundy hills and forests, the Abbaye has acres of manicured lawn, many...

Thank you. I am so pleased that you both appreciate the work and effort our whole team puts into creating an experience at the Abbaye, even my lines on the lawn ! With kind regards, Clive, and all the team.

The scene is set by the short drive through the gardens to the magnificent Abbaye buildings, followed by the genuinely warm welcome from the staff. There are only 20 rooms here, so you really feel like you are a friend rather than a visitor. The michelin starred restaurant '1131' is set beautifully within the main building and lives up to...

This has to be the finest discovery we have made for some time. Recommended by friends who stopped over here on way south and again on their return to UK. We drove from the south just to spend a night here. Every member of staff delightful. Bought by English couple with four children in 2005. Opened 2006 with 9bedrooms. Now...

We first discovered L'Abbaye during a one night stay in 2016 en route to the South of France and promised we would return, which we did for a family birthday in mid-August with our 3 children (3, 5 and 12). Our welcome upon arrival was excellent and from this moment we all loved our stay. L'Abbaye is a tranquil haven...

Wow! Amazing menu at the Bistrot :) 3 courses of pleasure! It's amazing how a tomato salad is brought up to a new level! Since I am pregnant the dinners in France are not always easy. Staff was very understanding. All courses were just perfect but the dessert was to die for! Worth while to take a detour on our...

We've just got back from a trip across France and our stay in this hotel was the peek of it: the outstanding building with all the character a residential abbey from the XIIth century can have, gourmet breakfast and a michelin star restaurant tare just the first things that come to mind but there were many more things that make...
