This was our first time to Italy and we first visited Rome before traveling to Tuscany. We booked two rooms, one for our three kids and one for my wife and me. Based on the reviews from tripadvisor, we had high expectations for this hotel and they were exceeded in almost every way. Sabina at the front desk was quite...

Prior to arrival we were slightly worried about this "small town hotel". You really never know what you get, even with the help of TA reviews :) All our worries melted away. castellina is a wonderful small town, with perhaps 6 or 7 restaurants (the best by far we found was up past the hotel 100 metres on the right...

We were lucky to choose this hotel. It is located in a beautiful town and a great base to explore the chianti region. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the room very comfortable, and a great breakfast. We loved the spa and jacuzzi - what a way to relax after a day of sightseeing. We enjoyed the restaurants in...

We stayed at the farmhouse, La Ferrozzola, which is a 3 minute drive outside of town (and a 10 minute walk.) It was like stepping into another time. We had an apartment of 3 floors in a large farmhouse. Each apartment has its own entrance and patio. The first floor had a large area for a living, dining, and kitchen...

Wonderful stay. The owner and the whole staff made us feel welcome. Irene was especially helpful. Beautiful little village and terrific atmosphere, surrounded by the beauty of Tuscany. Spa was relaxing, too! Would definitely book here again.

Just got back from a fantastic Italian vacation. We stayed at the Palazzo Squarcialupi for 2 nights on our trip in between Florence and Rome. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and Castellina in Chianti is a charming, quaint town. Our room faced the street, but it was still quiet and had character (exposed wood beam ceilings and...

Palazzo Squarcialupi was an amazing find, thanks to Trip Advisor. Its located in a charming village, we rented a car in Arezzo and were in Castellina an hour later. The facility is beautiful, the rooms are huge and well appointed. The staff are wonderful, they provided great information on travelling to Siena. Resturants were within walking distance. as well of...

We had a super double - the room was great. Lovely view (will try to figure out attaching photos). We had a little LR with a nicely tiled bath w/shower (bigger than most but still small)...what is it with the little linen towels in the bathroom, unusual.. almost big enough to do up your hair but like paper. But nice...
