My wife and I spent six nights at this wonderful hotel in mid September 2020 and went back for three nights a week later when the Mistral got so bad we had to interrupt a two week sailing trip. We stayed in the villa Il Pagliaio the first six nights and in the Lo Stazzo for the second stay. Both are amazing and well worth the price, which is reasonable, especially if you have more than two guests. Staying in them is a special experience. We even cooked some of our meals in the villas, though the restaurant at the hotel is excellent. I normally don’t write reviews of hotels, but our experience here was so exceptional I felt compelled to do so. We have stayed in a pretty large number of five star hotels in over forty countries. Our stay here was one of the most special.
Situated on a hill in the countryside, this hotel benefits from great views and enormous grounds. The suite we had was large and so was the veranda which could benefit from a partition to give more privacy. We did like the main pool where the loungers were comfortable and well spaced. The breakfast choice was good but I was less impressed by the dinner which was underwhelming but expensive. The service was friendly. Overall it is good but for a small hotel it lacks the personal touch.
we were there for a full week, relax,pool,sun,nature, nice other guests to be met. yes better having a car for adventure trips to the near neighbourhood. no glitter people as guests. thank you to geraldine and company. hope to be back soon. AUGURI LU CIACCARU
If you can - go. Great grounds, friendly people and wonderful food. Good base to explore from or if you prefer just stay in and chill out. Ideal for three days. The Sardinia tasting menu is a must try.
In January I had booked a five day stay at Stazzo Lu Ciaccaru starting on June 11th. The hotel debited my credit card with 350 Euro at the beginning of April. Due to Corona we were unable to fly to Sardinia (Lufthansa cancelled all our flights) and we have asked the hotel to kindly reimburse us with this amount. Although I have sent several emails I have never received an answer to any of my emails which is very very disappointing. I also called the hotel once and the lady on the phone said they would reimburse me but nothing has happened. They are just ignoring me. I understand that these are very difficult times for the travel industry but they could have at least offered me a voucher for next year.
