The agriturismo completely built in stone, was probably founded on the ruins of a medieval holy building. The recent renovation, which made use of original building materials such a stone, fired brick, and wood, is a careful restauration which culminated in the rebirth of the beautiful original structure.Green farm. In recent years we have worked consistently to reduce the environmental impact of our complex by pursuing all those ecological improvements that would allow such a result. With regard to the supply of electricity the entire complex is completely self sufficient and independent from the grid thanks to two photovoltaic systems. In addition to this we have basically wiped out the consumption of hydrocarbons such as LPG, natural gas, heating oil, thanks to the installation of a large and modern biomass plant, using timber from our forests;the heating system is integrated with latest generation of solar thermal panels.

We stayed at Ca' Lucano for 10 days and had a wonderful time! Very pleasant, quiet place to stay and enjoy the best of Tuscany. Relaxed atmosphere in historic buildings tastefully furnished with antiques. Great place for daytrips to the most famous cities and villages in Tuscany. The family running the Agriturismo made us feel home from the first minute. The restaurant offered local cuisine- a very tasty surprise menu every evening. A great place to stay!

Twice we stayed at Mr. Nelo in Ca Luciano. Great place, beautiful views, lovely family, polite, considerate people. Felt like home, excellent service, all neatly, home cooking, great wine and own mineral water, olive oil and homemade jams. Mr. Nelo kindly offers interesting routes each morning. In general, almost any request will not be ignored. The first time we went with my wife and middle son, the second visit we already had five. We like it here, and I very much hope that we will return to Ca Luciano again and again! Share experiences and car rental Autoeuropa. Experience has been very successful, for which I thank friends who recommended me to this company. They rented a car twice during the year. Both times in Rome, at the railway station. Both times, provide a virtually new car (Nissan Qashqai and Citroen Air Cross), plus insurance and paying rent took wi-fi box - very convenient. Prices, I think they have the best price / quality ratio just fine with me. Special thanks to the Russian-speaking girl Alice for their help and useful advice. Soon again I'll go to Rome, and doubt where to rent a car, I do not. After the trip, I will share experiences, as this time I plan to take a car at the airport of Fiumicino. I hope that the service company again will meet our expectations.

If you're looking to escape to a charming Inn in a picturesque setting in Tuscany, then Ca Lucano is a prime location to consider. Coming from the U.S. to visit Tuscany for the first time, we were thrilled with the setting of Ca Lucano with it's amazing views. Nestled quietly at the top of hilltop it was relaxing to watch the sun rise and set or see the fog roll in across the valley. The green velvet tops of the trees, the glow of the warm colored buildings in the village below, and the pattern of farmers fields made us take numerous photos as we tried to capture the ambience. Ca Lucano is a grouping of stone farmhouse buildings that have been renovated over time. It offer a range of comfortable, cozy rooms from the dining room to the guest rooms. There is charm in the decor complimented by a neatly trimmed yard and a simple but pretty flower garden. The Ca Lucano pet cats lounge nearby, quietly observing all the guests. Our host, Nelo, was very warm, friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived on site. He is very knowledgeable of things to do and places to see in the area. Our guest room was pleasant with windows that opened onto a panoramic view of the valley. It was large enough and had a private bathroom. We weren't in our room much but we can report that it met all our requirements: clean, tastefully furnished, and with key amenities the average person might want (television, hair dryer, Wifi). There was not any air conditioning but open windows met our needs during our stay offering a breeze. Had it been a hot summer day with no air movement, it might have been another story. Our visit (in September) was in the off season so I cannot comment on other reviews about "thin walls" and hearing people in connecting rooms. The swimming pool was in the perfect location and seemed popular. The food, prepared by talented cooks, was always fresh, tasty, and hot. The evening dinners were prepared well. We did not stay on property long after breakfast each morning.

June 2003 was the first time we visited Ca Lucano, ……. “Paradise on Earth”! We just came home from eleven wonderful and eventful days at Ca Lucano. Over the past 11 years we have been visiting Ca Lucano 13 times, staying altogether 126 nights and of cause, we have booked for next year, -this time for the whole family, -10 people. There are reasons for coming back to Ca Lucano year after year. First of all, - “The people at Ca Lucano” ……. a very friendly and considerate Salvatori family. In addition to that …… the comfortable chambers, the facilities, the location, the outlook, surrounding nature, -and not least, - “The Lunch and Dinner”, -and much more …… Find out for yourself Rand and Nils Hartmann

Ca Lucano is a restored farmhouse with a fantastic infinity beach pool and friendly hospitable staff. Like the last review said - be careful finding the place - sat-nav tells you to go up a very steep rocky almost-impassable road, but the road you need is tarmacced most of the way. Once you get there though - wow - it's beautiful. Just sitting poolside your cares disappear and you really unwind. Our room was basic and exactly as described on the website. Walls were quite thin so you could hear people in adjacent rooms or the hallway fairly clearly which was a shame but after an exhausting day in the sun didn't cause us any problems getting to sleep. The shower was never hot, but never freezing cold. Perfectly fine for the summer. The pool wasn't heated and at the warmest was about 26c, lovely and refreshing. On the first day it was only 22c so almost too chilly to use. Breakfast was typical of a European B&B - sweet croissant, ham, cheese, yoghurts etc. plentiful but basic. We enjoyed the evening meal twice with a 4 course meal (e.g. bruschettas, pasta, meat, fig pie) with wine for €25 per person which was good value. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and Nelo the owner was very accommodating, changing the meal as necessary. As for activities - you can take a walk from the farmhouse into the forest, but it gets fairly wild and overgrown after about 20 minutes of walking so take Nelos' advice. If you're planning day trips in the area speak to Nelo as has has some great recommendations for places just off the beaten track. The only reason I wouldn't rate it excellent is the couple of minor things which others have picked up on - no glasses in the room, and the thin walls that some with noisy neighbours might find irritating.

Ca Lucano is a beautifully restored Tuscan farmhouse located high up in the hills near Arezzo. It's not the easiest place to find initially, but whatever you do don't follow a satnav to get there - it will lead you up a tiny track that is ultimately impassable to regular vehicles! Instead use a satnav to get you to the village of Palazzo Del Pero, then follow the written instructions on the website; making sure you drive all the way up the tarmac road right to the end, then turn right onto the white track and follow that all the way to the end too. On arrival our first impressions were not the best, mostly due to the nature of the welcome which though business-like and polite, was simply perfunctory: more like that which you would expect in an anonymous impersonal hotel. After a long, hot and stressful journey we needed something more warm and open. Had we been met by Nello, the owner, I am absolutely certain this would have been a different matter as he is a gregarious, open and flamboyant host that is always pleased to see you, so we were just unlucky with the timing I guess. In terms of managing your expectations here it is vital to read the detail on the website thoroughly. Everything is explained there. This is neither your average Agritourismo/B&B. The room facilities are pretty basic: they lack a fridge, toiletries, hair dryer and even drinking glasses, but in fairness they are exactly as described online. Ours was a little grubby on arrival, as if it had been unused for some time, which was somewhat off-putting. Wi-fi access is charged separately at 13 euros for 4 hours: for 110 euros a night you would expect this to be free as it is almost everywhere now, except in big hotels. Also the shower was very weak and for 2 mornings running there was no hot water. On the positive side the infinity pool is just fabulous with great views across the nearby valleys. Also this is a very peaceful location and the quality of sleep here is excellent. Breakfast is simple but ample and the evening fixed-price menu is perfectly fine and good value for the weary traveler. Lunch is provided a la carte which is a nice touch as it means you can spend all day relaxing if you wish, rather than have to forage out for food. However, the absolute jewel in the crown of this place is Nello: his personality, bonhomie, enthusiasm and sheer 'joie de vivre' is fantastic - he is a great host! In summary this is a very good place to stay with a great pool and an engaging, gregarious host. Just be careful to read the small print before you book, so you know exactly what to expect.

PERFECT! We stayed here in summer 2011 for our family holiday. Beautifully restored ancient building with amazing views down the valley. Rooms have a beautiful authentic feel, lovely high quality restoration. The local area has good links to the rest of Tuscany and is a good place to explore some of the quieter beautiful towns and villages. Train link to Florence was excellent and we used it for a day trip there. No air conditioning but being higher up the valley side and probably cooler we didn't find that a problem at night and the windows have good ventilation and shutters. Pool is heaven after a day visiting the local area, almost like an infinity pool looking over the forested valley... amazing. If you sit poolside the staff will even come and take your drinks order or lunch order... all home made local fare. Lovely garden. That is 5 star service... Dinners are home made and we loved every meal.... no need to drive out to local restaurants when the home cooked food here is just as good, authentic, what more can I say? The hosts are INCREDIBLY friendly, they could not have been nicer or done more for us. its like staying with an Italian family (which it is), except you have space, privacy, and can relax. One tip... buy some of their home made Olive oil... the freshness is amazing and when you take it home it will remind you of Tuscany and Tuscan fresh food forever.... THANK YOU to our hosts for a fantastic, civilised, comfortable holiday. If I go back to Tuscany I would stay here 100%.... Perfect authentic Tuscan experience. the view from the pool is to die for.....

Ca 'Lucano is an oasis which makes you feel relaxed. I say make it the last stop of your trip before you fly out! This place makes you energized and relaxes all the stress you may have before your vacation, during and after! Nello and his family treated us like family! Coming to Ca' Lucano for the first time will definitely be on our plans next time in Italy!! A MUST STOP!! View the sunset from the infinity pool overlooking the mountains and valley!

My partner and I spent the last day of our 10 day trip in Italy in Ca' Lucano and we immediately wished we had more than one day to spend there. Such a beautiful place in a stunning and secluded location. Our hosts were extremely friendly and instantly made us feel at home. We were the only people staying there for the night which meant we have the infinity pool with the amazing view of the hills all to ourselves which was a real treat. We decided to walk the 2km to Palazzo del Pero for a superb Tuscan meal in the local restaurant that evening. Fantastic value for money and the 2km uphill walk back to the guesthouse was much needed after our 5 course meal! We will definitely be back to Ca'Lucano and can't recommend it enough to everyone who is planning a trip to Tuscany and Arezzo in future.
